Managed to get a table in the dining room, and decided to order a few of the starters and a bottle of local wine. Rather than go for the standard pub gear which was also on offer, we opted for oysters kilpatrick, marinaded pork belly skewers, arancini balls and grilled mushrooms with sliched brioche. All the food was good, and while nothing was particularly outstanding, there was definitely nothing bad either. Staff were enthusiastic, helpful and made great recommendations. Was definitely worth the visit.

This is actually a pretty quiet country pub, and a pretty nice one at that. There is a large outdoor area, and also a terrace area out the front. However, the thing that I liked the most about this place was the fact that they had craft beers on tap. Then again, any place with craft beers is going to be a pub that I like.

They have a pretty nice beer garden, however it is one of those beer gardens that it basically a converted backyard, complete with two yappy dogs that want to play with you while you are having a beer. This pub certainly has a character of its own, and I know I would be very tempted to stop by here again if I am ever in the area.

Family friendly up-market pub without the "up-market" prices or snobbery…read more Good quality food with all your favourites on offer - burgers, salads, schnitzels, steaks, pastas, fish, chicken and a handful of daily specials. The staff are always friendly, the order at the counter service is efficient and great for groups (none of that - "I had x,y,z... well who had the a,b,c" messiness that comes with splitting the bill). It can get incredibly busy and bookings are reccommended (even if you just call on the day or when you are on your way in) They host a weekly quiz night and there is a huge members base that participate frequently - a lot of local competition. Highly recommended.

The service was top quality; I was given a selection of local beers to taste, speedy service, and the overriding feeling that I was important; always a nice feeling for a customer! I'm not sure what this place was like 18 months ago, prior to what is either a refurbishment or new management, but both the interior and exterior is inviting, and I felt more than comfortable sitting in a corner with my book, watching the world go by. My sandwich special was good. It wasn't "out-of-this-world-holy-crap-best-sandwich-ever-good", but it was good!
