This time my husband did some research and we ended up at Chicken Holiday. We made a rookie mistake by just going without calling our order in first. Everything is made to order, so be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes if you just stop in. By no means, do I mention this as a bad thing! I prefer knowing my chicken isn't just sitting under a heat lamp, to be honest! There are plenty of meal options already set up to make ordering easy.. we got the "Chicken Dinner for Two" (8 pieces of chicken, fries or mashed potatoes or salad) for $25. We had to order extra sides, of course! Cole slaw, Mac and cheese and the corn fritters.. all worth it! The fired chicken was crispy even after the ride home, the gravy for the mashed was so good. Everything was really very good! We're definitely going to come back here but we're going call our order in to cut back on the waiting. Even if you forget it's all worth the wait!

Good food, but a deeply disappointing experience…read more My partner, daughter, and I visited Ristorante Maietta after seeing so many five-star reviews. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect those reviews. We were seated directly under blowing AC, which made the table uncomfortable. Our waitress offered us tap or sparkling water, but moments later, the neighboring table was offered tap, still, or sparkling. That difference stood out, especially given what followed. Despite ordering only two dishes, ravioli for my daughter and me to share and a clam pasta dish for my partner, we waited about an hour for our food. It arrived shortly after we complained about the wait. During that time, the manager appeared to visit every other table to chat with guests while skipping ours entirely, even after making eye contact. As a minority family, the difference in attention left us feeling singled out and questioning whether discrimination played a role. I cannot know his intentions, but I can describe how that treatment felt. We had requested that the ravioli be split between my daughter and me. Instead, it arrived on one plate, and we were given an extra dish to divide it ourselves. We later discovered a $5 split-plate charge on the bill. Charging for a service that was not actually provided added to our frustration. To give credit where it is due, the bread was fresh and delicious, the food was very good, and our waitress apologized for the wait and provided a complimentary dessert. We appreciated that gesture, but it did not make up for the overall experience. The food deserves four stars. The experience deserves zero. Good food alone is not enough when guests leave feeling overlooked and unwelcome. So next time we know to just get take out.
