I really enjoyed my cup of coffee and avacado toast. The vibe here is chill and a comfortable place to hang out. Would defiantly revisit!

Space is great! Nice coffeehouse. I got the special cold brew because it's 30 outside so you know it's warming up! Yams brew brown sugar, cinnamon, cold brew, with sweet and cold foam. Yams Brew was delicious. It wasn't just an average sweet potato! - mine was funny in my head. But here dad joke for ya Why did the sweet potato break up with the butter? It found someone butter! Service was great was quick and fast to take our order. Drinks followed quickly. Was happy he was super nice and walked out to us because we had our baby. Great space if you wanted to sit and chat with a friend or hang out and watch the world go by. Not a super loud or busy space so you could probably get some work done as well and not be distracted.

I'm kind of surprised this place isn't more busy. We came today (Saturday) at around 2pm and there was one other person who was waiting for someone doing the workout class in the place in the back. They took down their menus that were hanging up. Not sure what food they have now as I didn't see a food list. They had their November specials out: I wanted a lotus since I had coffee at home and it was good. Green apple with cinnamon and vanilla white lotus. Both drinks were about 5-6$ which is average prices. Really nice lounge area too. We dont have too many sit down coffee places in town. I have yet to try one of their coffee flights but I want too. We will see what the December one has on it.

I wanted to try Sip because of the monthly coffee flights and I was not disappointed. Each one I've tried has had a fun variety of drinks I haven't seen anywhere else in town. The sandwiches, toast, and cookies are also very good, although the prices were $1-2 higher than what the menu said when I visited. The indoor seating is somewhat limited but there is outdoor seating in the warmer months. Service can be a little slow, especially if you order food and/or a coffee flight, but employees have always been nice. They have a rewards program you can sign up for using your email address or phone number at checkout. You get a free 16 ounce drink after 10 purchases. Nice place to visit for breakfast or lunch if you have time to spare.

Needed a quick spot to grab a coffee and a snack. Saw Sip on the way to my next errand for the day and popped in. The shop is cute, with a nice seating area to meet up with a group of friends to catch up or get some work done. I ordered a mocha breve and a blueberry muffin. The muffin was delicious and the breve was good, but not as flavorful as I would have hoped. The staff was friendly and very helpful explaining all the different food options.

I was hung over after a wild night of pounding shots of Captain Morgan to the point of finishing the bottle, and decided on Sip. Take the boy out of Miami... but you know the rest. Anyway, Sip -to me- is one of those places in Anchorage that will transport you through its aesthetics. And so it did. Walking in I was greeted by this fairly tall blonde girl, she was the barista. Very personable demeanor to her, and she definitely brought the energy of the place with her, as well as this other young, chipper gentleman whom if I am not mistaken was wearing a cap. I ordered a few double espressos to be made together to take back to the AirBnB, got myself a latte, and decided on going for this clever concept for a coffee shop called "Soup of The Day." As I waited on my coup and sipped my coffee, they were going off about attending a concert together in another (what Alaskans call "the lower 48") state. Could have been Alabama, Arkansas, or Nevada. She had an extra ticket, and all he would have to pay for was for his flight there. Anyway, the point is I was spiraling. Thankfully their conversation brought me some comfort and grounding, and recharged faith back in what was painfully becoming my existence. I sure hope they made it out there together! Loved the ambiance, service, and the selection of food.

Needed a break from the hotel and working and found Sip. They offer a variety of coffee, tea, smoothies and wine. Plus they have a variety of food from savory to sweets and snacks. I had one of the quiches of the day, reindeer onion cheddar. The quiche was light and the reindeer was a nice flavor. Smaller establishment with mostly high tables but the have lower community table which was nice for working. There are 2 fabric chairs too. Nice music, not to loud.

This cafe is connected to a hair salon, and it seemed like perhaps some people go to both together. My husband and I came to check out the coffee flights. There was one worker at the time, so everything took a while to come out as she was busy making our food and our coffee flights. The coffee flights were okay. They looked super cute, but taste-wise, they weren't the best. My lox toast was good, but it wasn't mind-blowingly good. The star of the show was the pesto caprese sandwich, which was toasted perfectly and was oozing yummy melted mozzarella cheese. Overall, it's not the best place but not the worst. It's not a must-go place in Alaska, but I wouldn't mind having that sandwich again!

Went in and ordered a large coffee with room for cream. I'll admit I was probably on cruise control because suddenly I realized I was getting a 4 shot americano. I'm not exactly sure what an americano is, but I knew it's not what I wanted. After some discussion to figure out what, large coffee with room for cream means, I ended up with a drip coffee which seemed to work fine. I also ordered an avocado deluxe toast which was decent. I wish I could show you what it looks like plated, but unfortunately they brought it to me in a to-go box.

Caprese sandwich with the smooth flight in front and the monthly special in the back!

I came here for coffee before a day cruise, and I was very happy with the coffee and food! The caprese sandwich was really yummy, but the salmon lox was a little on the tougher end. The flights were well made, but I was a little surprised because the "smooth" flight wasn't necessarily smooth. Regardless, I had a pleasant experience here. The only downside was that it took a long time to get the things I ordered (my wife and I were the only ones in the shop at the time). Coffee: 3/5 Food: 4/5

Acai Alaska is located in a small trailer/food truck that sits atop a hill on the corner of Brandon St. and Old Seward Highway directly across from Southside Grill. There are new owners who have taken over from the original who operated at a strip mall off of Lake Otis and Dowling several years ago. The employees are super friendly and easy to converse with. The menu hasn't changed much although some of the food items like Musubi and almost all of the sandwich selections except the Grilled Cheese and Grilled Cheese with Ham are no longer available. There is a drive-thru window on one side where you can place your order. I ordered the Mauna Kea Bowl (topped with bananas, blueberries, strawberries, macadamia nuts, walnuts, chocolate-covered almonds, granola with raisins, and coconut shavings) on the Nutty Heaven base (Acai berries, bananas, strawberries, and peanut butter). The ingredients were fresh, filling, and made to order so expect to wait several minutes if there are a line of cars. However, it is worth the wait and easily a delicious healthy alternative for lunch and not just a snack. Other items on the menu include the Tiger Shark (blackberries, kiwi, raspberries, walnuts, almonds, goji berries, bee pollen, chia, and a variety of seeds that includes pumpkin, sunflower, flax, and hemp seeds), the Bonsai (kiwi, chocolate-covered Acai/blueberry, macadamia nuts, and spirulina) with a unique color combination once the ingredients are blended together, the Sleeping Lady Smoothie (Acai blend topped with mango and shredded coconut), and the Fireweed Smoothie (Acai blend topped with acerola and goji berries). Punch cards are offered for return visits. Buy nine bowls, get the tenth one for free. This place is a good option for those who want a healthier meal or a post-workout smoothie that offers a mix of healthy carbs and protein.

With 3 bases & 10 signature bowls to choose from there's certainly something for everyone! They also have smoothies & a cafe menu available as well. The blends are all dairy free & there's no added sugars. On this visit I ordered a 16oz MOFO bowl (blackberries, kiwi, mango, raspberries, strawberries, chocolate covered açaí & blueberries, granola with raisins & almonds, coconut shavings & I added a honey drizzle) with the original açaí blend. For my son I got the 16 oz Hawaiian blend smoothie. I love these smoothies for kids because all the sugar comes from the fruit. Go check this trailer out to get yourself a nice healthy treat!

However, the vegetarian menu is the reason why I chose Oasis over many others around Anchorage when I arrived. Many restaurants' vegetarian/vegan options are limited consisting of bar foods like vegan burgers, French fries, salads and fried pickles that are high in salt and greasy high fats. This place is completely different; for instance, the bowls and wraps section, which you can customize with optional brown rice, quinoa, flatbread, or tortilla. I chose the Vegan High-Protein bowl and quinoa. The tofu was soft and flavorful, and the hummus was perfectly complementary. The star was the in-house salad dressing, which I can't remember what was in it and what its name was, but it was green, tangy and phenomenal. The food was so good that I returned on Saturday, and there was no drop-off in flavor and service. This place is highly recommended, and whenever I'm back in Anchorage, I would definitely be returning.

Organic Oasis had some great reviews and the two in my party were semi-vegetarians. There were 6 other people in the room. The menu was well laid out and had great options for the meat challenged. We ordered our lunch at 1130. We were served water and then we waited... and waited. At 1230, we debated on leaving when I finally asked the hostess if she knew how much longer it would be, her response was curt and short, "they just started it." We thought it was odd that with so few in the room, the meal was just started nearly an hour after ordering. At 1250 the meal arrived. We had ordered the protein plate, a Thai salad and a turkey sandwich. The protein plate had an unseasoned burger patty that was crispy on the outside and raw on the inside and the steamed vegetables were barely cooked with the carrots still having the peels on them, the Thai plate had zero sauce. The turkey sandwich was exceptional, I opted for no cheese and added avocado. At 115, I went to the counter and the hostess looked very weary and asked what I wanted when the phone rang. She picked it up and immediately hung it back up without answering, then took the receiver off the phone. I said I would like to pay my bill. At this point, the hostess turned to the waiter who had been waiting on us saying, "these are yours." Three meals, only the sandwich was edible, came to $75. Wow. We were hoping that someone was just having a bad day, but seeing other reviews, our experience was similar to others. Will not be going back.
