All good. I'm a coffee snob - home brewer and such, so I don't try much coffee when I'm out unless I'm traveling. I tried a cup here today and was very pleasantly satisfied. A medium was about $2 - it was a daily special from Guatemala. While the staff seemed to have little clue of what they were serving, it was a very good cup of coffee. I'll also say the staff was super nice and there was no wait (Wed morning at 8:3am). Give 'em a shot. read more

This is a really nice nook with a very clean, aesthetic and warm environment. Service was prompt and exceptional. I enjoyed the drink, the mozzarella sandwich was mediocre and their pie crust hard as rock. I have not tried any other dessert, but two pie slices on two different occasions and both had a crust ready to break a tooth. Please find another pie distributor or use a different pie crust recipe. Adding a little pizazz to your sandwich wouldn't hurt. In fact, why don't you order your desserts from Canto 6 in Jamaica Plain, and take some tips on your sandwiches from Bloc 11 in Union Sq.? This shop is exactly what makes a great coffee shop. Located in a beautiful park in downtown Boston. In the middle of everything, I really do believe loaction is everything. The glass is really my favorite part. I can sit for hours just gazing out on the sky rises surrouding this small little box. I feel like a little kid in a big city. Not to mention the coffee is amazing. Strong coffee, that has a unique flavor thats not comparable to the surrounding shops (Dunkin and Starbucks-boooooo). A regular morning stop on my walk to work... and now that I found out they're open on Saturdays, I'll be there! Such a cool spot, the building is all glass so it's cozy on rainy days and gorgeous on sunny days, especially in the park with outside seating! Staff is super friendly and accomdating...coffee is incredible! The food is delicious too. It's slightly torturous ordering a latte when all those homemade goodies are calling out my name! Absolutely love this place! It is the perfect, quaint escape from the office. The hipster/chic vibe combined with a location right in beautiful Post Office Square, make this THE place to go. In addition to an abundance of coffee and pastry options, they also have delicious and FRESH sandwiches, salads and soups and everything is made to order. I recommend trying one of their breakfast sandwiches with roasted tomato on ciabatta bread-for less than $4! Seating is first come first serve and they nearly double the amount of seats in the summer when they open the patio. I'm not big on coffee - I'm more of a tea person. But speaking as a tea person, they really DO have the best lattes around. And don't get me started on the tea - selection is a little slim, but hey, its a coffee shop. What they do have is stellar in quality. They chai lattes are ACTUALLY TEA (not some fake syrup concentrate like some of their chain competitors). Rooibos Latte - AMAZING. I also love what they do with their iced tea and tea infused granitas. Food is equally as great. I'm a particular fan of the turkey & red apple sandwich and their breakfast sandwiches. Good portions, fresh, and, best of all LOCALLY MADE!!! I fell in love with them so much I catered from them for a big meeting my office had with some clients. Later on some of the big-wig clients came by to ask where I catered from because lunch was amazing-good job guys! My only wish that Sip had (for us tea drinkers)....matcha lattes. Nothing like a good, strong, Japanese green tea latte :( I refuse to walk the extra block to get one at Starbucks because theirs are terrible and I like to support local business. read more

I work near here, so the Sip Cafe is a good choice for something close by. Their pastries are pretty good and I love their lemonade and ice tea. The sandwiches are also pretty good, but a little smaller than others you can get in the financial district for the same price. The turkey and apple sandwich is good; and I love that you can get them all pressed to melt the cheese. However, I'm only giving them three stars because of their quiche. I got it for the first time today and it takes 5+ min to heat up (which is sort of understandable, except that it was pretty cold by the time I got back to my office which is one block away). Also, they serve it with a small salad, which was unexpected, but they load the spinach with a TON of balsalmic dressing and then place the piece of quiche on top. This made the quiche bottom really soggy and the balsalmic taste totally overwhelmed the quiche. If I had known this was how it would be served, I would have asked for the dressing on the side. On top of that, the bacon in the quiche was also soggy and didn't really taste cooked. I'll probably go back for a sandwhich once every two months or so just because it's so convenient, but will not order the quiche again. read more

I have been going to Sip a long time. I would go there more but I run into 3 problems all the time that has become standard expected. 1. They frequently run out of sandwiches at 2pm. 2. When I ask them to NOT over toast the bread.. they burn it to a crisp on the press every time. No matter how clear you make it to the person who takes your order - the people who press the sandwiches are too busy to listen or care. 3. The high price does not reflect the mediocre quality of the food. On a lighter note - they are fast and the food is fresh. The coffee is pretty but not up to European standards at all. read more

I like this place. Located in a super convenient spot downtown in the vast PO Square, which is such a random little park next to the hell I like to call Federal Street. You can tell that they put the specialty back in coffee, and charge about as much as a Starbucks would -- so obviously when I can support local business I will. I haven't had too much food from them, though their bakery section looks amazing, and their pressed sandwiches look fresh. Try the Mocha, finally a place that doesn't shove a ton of sugar into their chocolate (meaning you can determine just how sweet you want your latte to be) I am always a fan of having a bit of control over how many calories i'm shoving into my body. But what makes this place good is the atmosphere. I mean, it's a little slice of peace in the chaos of the Financial District. I wouldn't feel quite so drawn to this place except when I can sit in the sun. read more

Super busy, but a beautiful spot. The inside was well air-conditioned and nice on a hot day. I ordered the Turkey & Apple sandwich on 7-Grain bread, untoasted. I waited and waited for order #72 to be called and when they started calling every number after mine I ended up having to say something. Turns out that there were two turkey sandwiches ordered and I ended up with someone else's turkey and apple sandwich, toasted, to-go (I ordered for in-house). I told them not to remake it, even though it was offered. I enjoyed the sandwich, though I ate only half of it. The turkey, onions, apples, and goat cheese were all very fresh. I don't think I'll be stopping by again soon as it's too far from my office, but it was a cute spot to grab a quick bite with a friend. read more

A total treat in the middle of a concrete jungle. Too bad I'm never in this neck of the woods. Flavour of the day - ginger latte. EXCELLENT latte with my only gripe being that they were too restrained on the ginger. I like my ginger to have some kick to it. The mozarella and proscuitto sandwich was okay. The bread had the right texture. There were slices of fresh mozarella, a moderate portion of proscuitto, sad tomatoes (but isn't that true of all Boston tomatoes) and leaves of basil instead of pesto leaving the sandwich slightly dry. Friendly staff and fast service. In either event, the fresh ingredients, well brewed coffee, and relaxed atmosphere amidst a busy confluence of streets was welcoming. read more

This is a pretty safe lunch bet if you work in the area especially if it's nice out. When I finally stopped by, it was absolutely beautiful outside and there were so many people eating in the park during their lunch hour. Sip cafe is a bit reminiscent of some places you'd find in a larger park with a lot of glass and counter service with plenty of coffee options on a weekend stroll. For lunch I got a roasted chicken sandwich, and although it was good, it wasn't anything you couldn't easily replicate at home if you tried. At $7 it was a bit of a stretch, but the location and good weather could make it worth while. read more

Sip Cafe has become a regular stopping point for me. For coffee, sometimes I get the Noccia Bella, and sometimes I get the non-sweetened mocha (oh so chocolatey). Both are good coffee, and have a good latte mouthfeel. If I'm there for breakfast there are plenty of intriguing pastries that are just fine (if not up to the standards of the North End), and if I'm there for lunch I can grab a sandwich and it will be tasty, filling, and overall good (but not great). The customer service is always great, and I never have to wait long. In short, Sip Cafe is astoundingly reliable and I have nothing bad to say about my experiences. Given my predilection for finding both the best and worst of everyplace I go that makes it pretty amazing in my book. Still, it's not the best at anything. There are better sandwiches (e.g., Sam LaGrasse's), better coffees (e.g., Thinking Cup or Caffe Paradiso), and better pastries (e.g., Maria's) but each of those is a bit of a walk and none of them can handle all three categories well (or at all). So I highly recommend Sip Cafe, even as I hope that they'll up their game just slightly. read more

I highly recommend this cute little spot. The coffee and other drinks are excellent as is the food. We went on a recent Saturday morning and enjoyed crepes and quiche along with tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The staff is friendly and helpful. They are not open on Sunday's, but are open the rest of the week. This is a place where you place your order and find a table and the staff will bring out your food shortly. I usually hit up this spot in the mornings for some good tea. My go to is the Moroccan Mint tea. I love that they have honey and simple syrup out for customers to use, such a simple thing that more cafes should do. I've never had any of there food items though it seems that the veggie quiche and special quiche of the day are both favorites. They have lots of sweet treats and pastries and salads/sandwiches at lunch. I have to say the one thing that annoys me is that they run out of oatmeal by 9am. Come one people! If you are going to run out of oatmeal by 9am then maybe think about making more. The cafe itself is inside a unique glass room. It's pretty small but there somehow always seems to be one seat open somewhere and on nice days there's plenty of space just outside Sip. read more

The coffee shop is located in a small park in the middle of all the high rise buildings in boston financial district area. The coffee was ok. I won't say it's the best I ever had. I have better coffee somewhere else around town. The service was good and quick. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. I love the patio outside the shop. I was in at 11:30 on a weekday once - the soups weren't hot enough/ready to serve and the sandwich I ordered took much longer than it should have. I don't think it's too much to ask that a place in the financial district be ready and moving relatively quickly by 11:30! On the other hand, I've been in during the lunch rush and they get orders out as quickly as anywhere else in the financial district. It's a little oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of the Financial District. So far, I've only tried their coffees and their great! Very smooth & great flavor. Coffee here is really, really great. But I'm on the fence about returning because the past couple of times I have been here, my order has been completely forgotten and I ended up waiting 15-20 minutes for an espresso drink when there were only a few people waiting. I had to remind the servers what I had ordered each time after watching people who had come in after me (and also ordered espresso drinks) walk away with their orders. I think they need to pay closer attention or communicate better with each other. Also, I appreciate the latte art, and maybe that is why the cups are delivered overly full, but recently I have had overflowing cups that I couldn't move without spilling handed to me. You should leave enough room so that I can put the cap on (when I've ordered it to go) without having it slosh onto the counter. So basically -- great product, careless service. read more

Slowest service in Boston at lunch time. My boyfriend and I ordered two sandwiches and after 23 mins they came out and one was roast beef instead of roasted chicken. I repeated my order and a few mins later they brought out a turkey sandwich. I repeated my order a third time and it finally came out right. Overall took over a half hour to receive our correct order. This place is absolutely my new favorite hang out place! Boston's weather was spectacular for the past 3 days, so I spent the past 3 afternoons at this place; I've tried three paninis--chicken, turkey, and caprese--and they were all delicious! When I took my first bite, I was surprised by the perfect crunchiness of the bread. I also recommend the 'mate latte'; it kind of tastes like a light green tea latte. I love sitting outside; I actually prefer this place more than places on Newbury Street because it's right in the middle of a beautiful park. Ambiance is perfect for reading and chatting outside (not so loud and hectic as Newbury). If you're looking for a nice lunch/coffee place, this is the place to go. Prices are similar to places like Panera Bread (which, ironically, I was trying to find when I found Sip Cafe) and Cosi--but everything is just so much better. read more

This little cafe in Post Office Square, caught my eye as we walked through the city. I went in to relax with a cup of tea after a day of shopping and wandering around Boston. Very clean inside and the British guy who served me was super friendly and made me feel welcome. It was a nice place to recharge, people watch, and enjoy the park behind. Sip Café is wonderful! A beautiful, true coffee shop. I work in the area and go in for an espresso or latte all the time. Year-round it's such a nice place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, or have lunch and look out into the season. I adore the all-glass building; we even held our engagement party here last summer for about 30 people. It was so, so nice. Jared, the owner, and his staff went above and beyond for our party, and were truly dedicated to making it even better than we imagined.
