I've been to this lovely if somewhat hectic and busy financial district cafe too many times, and their soups and sandwiches are too consistently good, to not give them 5 stars. The people who work there are super nice. My main problem is staying out of this place or limiting it to once a week. Their baked goods, although a small selection, are delicious (I forget where they get them from). I love the peach coffee cake. read more

This is a wonderful spot for a latte on a summer day. With the sun shining through the large glass windows and the pleasant park outside, this may be the nicest setting for a coffee shop in The Boston area. The latte was excellently done. The barista is a real professional. The latte art was nice and it looks like they do some innovative stuff here. The latte was quite good. The flavor was a bit dark for my taste and I'm of the opinion that George Howell beans lack depth in flavor, but a really nice drink to be sure. Well worth the trip down from Cambridge. I'm absolutely going to come back. read more

Awesome coffee shop, a ton of selection of food and coffee beverages. One barista in particular, Jack, was extremely welcoming and made my drink just right he also gave me a little extra whipped cream which is always a plus! My new main coffee stop before work is now Sip thank you for the great coffee and service. read more

Great pastries and excellent lattes/cappuccino. They did it right

Great place to grab coffee and pastries! Love that they have almond milk and soy as milk alternatives. There's great outdoor seating when it's nice out, and a couple seats indoors. I don't love the lunch, but great for the classic coffee shop items. read more

This place is great. Great setting in Post Office Park. Great food, fast service, friendly staff. Did I mention how good the food is?

wow what a beautiful place. stopped there on a weekend where it's probably less busy than during weekdays. great place to grab a coffee, a pastry and sit in the park. the coffee is very very good. i had a lattè and it's probably one of the best out there read more

I was not as impressed as some others have been (judging from the reviews). I asked for an espresso on ice (having been accustomed to ordering the Starbucks Doubleshot) and was handed a cup with some ice and espresso at the bottom - with no communication, a comparatively amateur and disinterested offering, in my humble opinion. read more

I ordered one of their "signature" beverages...I really wanted to like it, I really wanted to enjoy it....BUT, it was like drinking syrup with a coffee kiss.... read more

Excellent Roast Beef sandwich! I usually hate asparagus and it was perfect on the sand which! Came from NYC for. Business lunch and could not be more satisfied!! read more

I tried a greek salad with the tuna and it might be possibly one of the best salads I have ever had. Super Friendly service. I will be back. :) read more

Amazing location. If you work in the financial district, I'm not sure there's a better place to eat an outside lunch- weather permitting. They have a band playing every once in a while, the music is terrible, but it's still nice to hear live music on your lunch break. Sandwiches are tasty. I recommend the turkey and apple, pressed. read more

One of the best coffee spots in Boston. Friendly staff and very sophisticated barristas. A great place to get a latte made the way it should be. My only complaint is the blend they use is not the best bean but for Boston it's above the rest. read more

I love their Noccio Bello latte!! It is a hazelnut mocha latte and they add orange zest on top it is marvelous! I have tried their soups and sandwiches, and have never been disappointed. The cafe is so adorable with all glass windows. While you enjoy your lunch you get to watch the city go by. I would recommend getting there early for lunch in the winter for a seat inside but in the the summer you can sit out on the lawn which is great. read more

The coffee at Sip never dissapoints, and the muffins are so delicious. I love the location, it puts me in a great mood to get a coffee after I get off the train and then walk through the PO Square park to work. Love Sip. read more

Update: I went back because it was raining so hard and didn't feel like walking to my usual place. Iced coffee was not good at all and no whole milk to put in it. This place is off my list. read more

Great ambiance for a coffee shop! Everyone who worked there was very friendly and they had a wide variety of coffees and teas. I ordered their vanilla chili tea latte and will definitely get it again. I thought that the food was a little less exciting than what I had hoped for, but overall this cafe is a great find! read more

I've been there a couple times and besides a great sandwich at lunch one time, I have to give it 2 stars due to some recent bad experiences. Twice I've gone there and had a pretty rude/grumpy woman take my order in the morning. I felt rushed and she gave me an attitude when I asked her a simple question. I came into work and it sort of put me in a bad mood so I was telling a co-worker about my experience and he described the same woman and told me how he received the same kind of attitude when he asked a question about an item on their menu. Just overall, disappointed. I'd rather not ruin my morning by dealing with that lady again. On the other hand, the rest of the staff have been great. read more

Really charming place to relax in a good weather weekend. Outside seats are pretty good to see the little square and those Art Deco building around. Like the Earl Gray Tea read more

Jared and staff are wonderfully attentive to preparing the best coffee, chai, and latte beverages in town. They do it with flair for the artful, care in prepping great sandwiches, and smiles all around. It is truly a delight to elicit a smile when their milk artistry produces such short-lived perfections. PLUS - it sits in one the most humane urbane spaces in greater Boston. read more

This place used to get 5 stars for their chai latte. Best in the city. Today, I received the most tasteless chai, with the loosest foam I've ever had. I hope this is temporary read more

THANK YOU to the lovely owner and team at SIP for helping me out when I needed a catering order of specialty tea for an important meeting. They made sure it was hot, on time and with a beautiful plate of pasteries and fruit. They even sent a hot craft to keep the beverage warm and a honey dispenser. On time, well presented and stepped up when I needed a special request - AWESOME! I can also tell you their service in house at the cafe is wonderful and the location is prime for the Financial District. read more

Don't use your credit card. The last two times I've eaten here my credit card was charged more than what was on the receipt. (And more than sales tax). Seems like they charge a credit card premium. read more

What's better than a beautifully crafted double espresso? Conversation about its nuance, balance and body with a knowledgeable, warm Barista/owner. 4 stars for Pulse at Fanueil Hall (related to Sip Cafe). I'll be back!! read more

Totally underrated. Great soups and lattes and very reasonable. Nice place to sit too.

I am fairly knowledgeable about espresso. I home roast, and have used pro quality gear in my home for years including mazzer grinders and 45 pound Italian espresso machines. These people care about the quality of what they do! Jared, thw owner takes the care to train his people well, and let them do a great job and buy the best quality coffees, the most consistant shot of George Howell's Daterra coffee that you can get! I drink double shots of straight espresso no sugar needed, they just get the sweetness out of the bean. I ran restaurants for years. The food is top notch as well. Sip Cafe is just a gem! read more

I was there last weekend for a special event (baby shower). The place is in a lovely setting for starters. Owner and staff were very efficient and accomodating. The food was delicious (quiche, little sandwiches, fruit salad, green salad, desserts, coffee..) Everyone had a good time and enjoyed being at Sip.. read more

Like other reviewers, my Disloyalty card brought me to Sip ( don't have one? Get one!) I fdo feel very, ahem, loyal to some of the other cafes on the list and the Thinking Cup, which is not included in the offer. That said, I will definitely return to Sip. I only gave it 4 stars because I don't feel like I know it well enough for 5. I only had one drink- an espresso based hazelnut mocha with orange zest that I forgot the name of. The barista recommended it to me, and it was delicious! I can be a bit of an espresso snob, so I'll have to go back and try a cappuccino and PROBABLY a baked good. For now, it's worth checking out with the cool floor to ceiling windows and financial district location. It's like a little oasis with yummy coffee. read more

I love the Noccio Bello, it's so good! Chocolate, hazelnut, shot of espresso, steamed milk, and orange peels. Of course it's much better when they make a cute design on top. One of the guys (he has curly hair) is the best at it, the other staff members, not so much. I did order oatmeal the other day and I was nervous since it only came with brown sugar and almonds, but it was actually really good. If you haven't tried the noccio bello though, you have to try it. The only reason I go to Sip, is for their noccio bellos. Sometimes it gets a little crowned at the end of the counter when you are waiting for your drinks because there's a door right there and people will be coming and going, but overall, it's a cute place. read more

I have yet to taste better coffee elsewhere, I get the nocciobello almost everyday, the sandwiches are good as well

I work across the street and have given this place a few tries. Maybe it's just me, but the service has consistently been horrible. I am usually received with a grunt, not hello, and perhaps I'm not used to the nouveau hipster ways...but I'm not enthusiastic about supporting this place. It's usually in disarray, someone actually put a box of garbage bags in front of me while I was ordering. I mean, do your thing, but don't make me feel like I'm in your way. In addition to a bored glare, I feel like 13 people behind the counter are usually having prolonged conversations about nothing, this is while I wait for them to acknowledge my existence. Moving on to the food, the gouda tomato soup is kind of grainy..... read more

Located right at the Eastern end of Post Office Square, SIP offers just what you need for a stop in the park. Coffee, tea and light fare well suited for lunch. read more

Worst. Cafe. Ever Save your money. I've been to this place a few times and the wait is unbearable, food mediocre (at best) and service unreliable. I ordered a cold Roasted Chicken Sandwich that took 17 minutes to make as I stood watching the TWO chefs muck around next to a panini press, with no customers in front of me. Only reason for deserving one star is the location. Please can a new cafe move in this spot and replace SIP with good service??? read more

I haven't been back since for food so I kept the 2 rating but to correct my review, I was emailed by the owner and told they do use albacore tuna in their med tuna sandwich. read more

In a word, abominable. In the four times I have been there, I have had to return the food twice because it was inedible (they provided a full refund both times). Well 50% is a great batting average in baseball, but not food! Had a quiche and spinach salad today - would not feed it to a dog I hated. Plus they are incredibly slow - who has 15 mins. to wait on their lunch hour? Plus there was hardly anybody in the joint. The only reason these folks survive is the Post Office Square location. read more

I went to get coffee today and asked if they had any banana's, the lady working the register said no and then as I was paying she handed me a banana and told me she brought it from home but I could have it. How nice is that!? Absolutley made my day! Amazing service and great soy lattes. read more

Great coffee- Nocciobello ( Nutella and orange zest; vegi quiche!!!! What a great discovery near our hotel . Great service too .

I just ate here for lunch for the first time today and I was sad that I haven't tried this place sooner. I got the cucumber cream cheese sandwich and asked them to put it on 7 -grain and add roasted red peppers - it was the BEST sandwich I have had in a while. Their ingredients are simple but delicious and they are FRESH. It was nice not to go somewhere that has pre-cut everything that they just slap together. I will definitely be back again. I am very excited about this place and will definitely be trying their breakfast sandwiches VERY soon!!! read more

Involved owners motivated to run a well respected business.

I am a little surprised this place has such high reviews because the coffee is certainly nothing to rave about. The location itself is great- nice scenery, cute little coffee-shop vibe...not to mention the more than affordable prices, given the fact that it's right by the financial district. HOWEVER, the latte I ordered there was seriously lacking. The combination of flavors in the latte was not in the least bit appetizing. It also seemed to have about zero perfect caffeine...and the "latte art" was a huge blob. read more
