This was my third visit. The first two were just getting tinsil in my hair. Today's visit was different, it was great! I was greeted and checked in right away. I was offered a drink, coffee, and mimosa. I got my hair washed, blow dried, and styled with a braid. My hair stylist was so kind and easy to talk to. I visited this place a day before I was going to have my baby. Being 9 months pregnant styling my hair was really the last thing I wanted to do...but I knew I wanted to at least have some nice hair for labor. My hairdresser was booked so this place I found via Yelp and booked an appointment which is pretty easy to do. I will say it was nice to have my hair washed and dried as my hair is long and takes FOREVER to blow dry. They young lady who did by blowout was friendly, but didn't ask to many questions just directed me to sit in #3 which I was confused about as there are also small private rooms so I didn't know if that meant a room or a chair as this was my first time there. Once I asked for clarification the processes started. I was looking for an actual blowout. Like bouncy hair with volume like my hair dress usually does what I got was a blowout that was still frizzy and crazy bangs. The girl could see the disappointment in my face, because she asked me if I wanted my bangs different. I let her know yes. So she put some spray stuff and proceeded to try and fix my bangs. I left with greasy bangs which was awful. For what I paid I would have loved nicer hair...I was really disappointed. The salon itself was nice and the concept is great, but honestly left unhappy went home and washed my hair out and did my own hair so it was a waste for me. I'd love to go back and maybe have someone else do my hair, but I'm afraid of having the same experience again. read more

The only time a get a blowout and style is when I get my hair done. I got a gift card here so I thought I would try it. So glad I did! Maggie styled my hair and she did everything I asked for. I told her that my hair doesn't hold a curl and it falls flat after a few hours. Let me tell you whatever she did and whatever products she used made my hairstyle last for over week!! I went to Sip & Style for my first time this last weekend. I wanted to treat myself for my birthday and just have a relaxing, pampering day before my dinner later that night. I opted to try Sip & Style first before going to DryBar since it's a small business. I left disappointed and due to two reasons. The stylist I was assigned to was more focused on texting instead of focusing on my hair while blow drying away from my hair three different times to respond to her texts. She asked me how I would like my hair and I went with beach waves and ended up with straight waves that got flat within the hour. My hair is very thick and curly, I never use hair spray personally and my curls last throughout the day so for my hair to be straight within the hour it was overly combed through with the brush that made them flat instead of getting more of a bounce in the curls. The girls at the front were sweet when I was greeted walking in and of course offered a drink of my choice. Service wise I felt could have been better and totally understand needing to respond to a text if it's an emergency but the stylist I had clearly didn't care and her priorities and focus were on the phone. In a nutshell, this salon owner, Shelly, is about fitting in as many clients as she can without care to satisfaction of clients. After spending thousands on extensions which were poor quality, & paying for a "move up" she refused to fit me in for a quick fix, because she was too busy! The bead was sitting right above my ear causing the hair to constantly scratch the ear. How hard is it to put someone end of the day or in between clients? This was simply to move a couple beads up, which she just installed a week ago. She just kept telling me she put them In where they were before. Shelly does extensions very fast. Fixing this wouldn't have taken her more than 10 minutes If you are particular, or have difficult hair (thin or fine) you should select a different person. I have been in this salon 6-8x. When the hair was initially done it looked beautiful, albeit the placement wasn't perfect. However after the 1st couple of washes the hair was matting around the nape of my neck. I"ve worn extensions for over 20 years, in various application styles. The last thing i want is to have a problem or have to keep going in. I was concerned since i had paid $2400+ This hair should last a minimum of 9 months, but by the looks of it after a few washes it was not the quality i've been used to. I always have bought my extensions in chestnut brown & added highlight pieces so I thought maybe since she bought super blond hair (probably hair she had bought for someone else & decided to use on me) then laid my dark hair over it before even putting them in my hair. She then laid color again a couple weeks later when it was still too blonde. So the hair had been processed twice within a couple weeks. The hair was matting, dull, not shiny like my own hair. Shelly literally constantly kept telling me it wasn't the hair, because she laid color not lifting color I wondered why she didn't buy the extensions more to match my color? She started with a platinum blonde & my hair is a dark brown with Carmel highlights, however she insisted this was not an issue, the hair was fine! They kept telling me i needed special shampoo etc & i wanted to follow the rules but my hair kept being so tangled. She said to put oil in the ends, & make sure i blow dry 100% after shampooing, brush frequently, etc suddenly a lot more rules for these extensions than all those i have had in the past. She had me come in for a blow out. Melissa did it & did a great job but it didn't stop the hair from tangling within a couple of hours. In the long run, I felt I had nothing to lose so i went back to using my previous shampoo & conditioner which significantly improved the problem. Since the matting was still an issue i chose to have extensions moved up a little sooner. With base color it was over $500. I also had her trim the hair since it looked so dry & frizzy already on the ends I've never needed to trim extensions after only 2 months). I wore the extensions about 6-7weeks with no issues. Now the 3rd time she moved up the hair, dry, without coloring. Within a couple days I realized the bottom row of extensions on one side was prickling & scratching my ear. This is uncomfortable & will only get worse in time. This is usually a sign, it's time to move extensions up, which I literally just did! I text Shelly right away & asked for a time to come in for the 2 beads to be moved up. She never responded. After almost I week i text again because I was leaving town & know this problem will get worse... she informed me she didn't reply because she is too busy, has no time to fit me in & furthermore stated she placed the hair in the exact place it had previously been.. I explained i asked a week earlier & no response. Again she replied she was too busy (which she always is!) I then replied I don't understand why you don't care about customer service & satisfaction & always argue with me instead of making it right? Also I have been in the chair at the salon & she had people come in, numerous times, to fix a loose bead or two, so I don't understand why she isn't with me? At that point she said it's better for us to "part ways" since she can't make me happy. Well, she didn't even try! Ok that's fine too, but I just paid for my hair to be done & shouldn't have to go to someone else to get it fixed properly & pay again!? No reply So I stopped by her salon to show her. She didn't care! Didn't look & only kept repeating herself that she had clients & didn't want to talk in front of them. She could have offered to come in early, or stay a few minutes later or work me in anytime between clients over the past week since I addressed this to her, but she didn't care! That's the bottom line. She wants the quick & easy money, & if you don't suck up, whatever it is you don't like, she will just kick you to the proverbial curb. read more

Bruh the customer service was Horrible the whole time I was setting up my appointment it felt like they where doing me a favor, like supporting their business was some how an inconvenience. Then when I got there they had their not fully trained apprentice do my hair for formal it was horrible and something I could have done a better job on by myself to save my self 70$ I ended up getting it redone by a friend and was late to my event. Apparently they can't cut your hair here, which was half the reason I came. This isn't very clear on the website nor was there an option to add it as the receptionist implied, so that's confusing. Then, when I asked to cancel I was treated like I was a moron, again, for assuming a salon was able to cut hair. Finally, when I wanted to confirm I would not be charged, the same girl seemed unsure I would not be charged. If she knew I could still be charged why let me leave? She said only her manager would know and when I asked to talk to them she suddenly confirmed my answer. I have no desire attempt going back now. read more

I don't typically leave reviews like this. But, my disappointment has been gnawing at me for 4 days now. I scheduled a blowout for my daughter for her birthday. I have been hearing such great things about this salon and I was excited to pamper her on her special day. We arrived and all seemed well, even though the salon was very busy. We finally got called back 30 minutes after her appointment time and the stylist asked how she would like her hair styled and she said she would like her hair curled. The standard time published on the website says 45 minutes. The stylist was done with her in less than 30 minutes! My daughter felt rushed and like a nuisance because the stylist said she was running late for her next appointment. Her hair did not look nice and the curls were minimal and flat and straight within moments. I spent $68 including a tip for less than mediocre result. I feel like I was not only ripped off, but so disappointed that my attempt to pamper my daughter on her birthday was ruined. She felt far from special and said she never wants to go back. read more
