Pros: They were very nice and helpful when my baby projectile vomited his milk all over station 1 in the salon. Like seriously, they couldn't have been nicer about it. Their kindness was super welcoming when I felt like a complete idiot. Cons: I hate this part... my hair by end of day was a complete mess. I pay $59 because I wanted my hair to be PROFESSIONALLY done in a way I'm not able to do it myself. Unfortunately, when I left the salon, my friends were commenting that I still had lots of frizz in my hair, and it's really bad now. I should have went to L.A. Those girls at the dry bars in LA would get a complete upper body workout when doing my hair in the past. They were sweaty when it was over, not kidding. I used to looooove going here for blowouts. So much so that I chose going here over the salon in the establishment where I work. Over time the quality of my blowouts decreased significantly while the stylists worked faster. Very common occurrence but it appears to happen to many corporate salons. They stick with quantity over quality. I guess getting heads in and out as quickly as possible is becoming more important than making sure each client is given a good quality blow out. The last time I went (2 months ago) my curls had fallen by the time I got home. I had to redo my hair for my event which was sad because just months prior, my hair would last into the next day. Taking your time with clients and not being rushed to finish in an hour is absolutely important. I'd assume that management or owners are rushing the stylists to get everyone done quick which is not fair on them or the client. As someone with a lot of hair who hates to dry my own, I look to spend my hard earned money on a blow out that is going to last at least through the day I get it. Hopefully whoever is in charge will put less pressure on the stylists to hurry up and encourage them to take their time and really be passionate about their work. I also recommend 3 other friends to go here and their last experience was exactly like mine. They were rushed in and out and their hair went flat or wasn't even completely dry at the root. They have some amazing stylists and it's sad to see their potential being stumped by the greed for profit. read more

Wash & blow out service was great by Alexis. Not talkative , quiet- only comments made were about products being used. FYI- cashless which I don't like because I want a choice. I probably won't come back because of that. I had an appointment and yet I had to wait 17 minutes before service. Beverage was offered but I didn't partake. Front desk person not welcoming or friendly or apologetic because there was no one at counter when I arrived & the two ladies blowing out hair didn't acknowledge either. I like the results, but time will tell on how well the blow out last. There quite a few products used- I think about 5. Which I think will make hair oily quickly- time will tell. I was thrilled to see Bakersfield get a Drybar. They are in the new shopping center on Buena Vista, just south of White Lane. If you haven't been to one before, they only do washing and styling. What an awesome idea!! Some days we just need a little help or want to look a little extra nice. Let Drybar take over and take care of you. I made sure to make an appointment for my daughter for her prom look. I am so glad I did. The place was packed!! She knew she wanted her hair down and the stylist was happy to help her with decisions and getting it just right for her. They had a fun conversation and my daughter really enjoyed the entire experience. She was offered coffee, tea or water when we first arrived. She thought that was special. The owner was in and it was nice to meet her and see her making sure things were going just right. All of the employees were working hard but clearly enjoyed being there. I really really want to love this place! Have been considering joining for regular services... but so far experiences are not great! I have been twice & both times, the body & my curls simply did not last!! Both days I went in for services, I had evening event & went mid day. Last weeks service I 100% had to re curl my hair prior to the event (so a waste of $$$). Also was told Style was $35 but because I have extensions they charged me An extra $20, despite it taking less than 30 minutes Note4 the 1st time I went in I had a full service washing drying & curling... I left with one of my extensions partially pulled out on the anchor. 2nd time I went with dry hair & the curls didn't last I had different stylist each time. Not sure if it's a skill issue, & not using enough or the right products. read more

No smile, and she made me feel like a complete piece of shit. I had NO idea this business does NOT accept cash, and as a service provider my clients always pay me in cash, so I thought I would bring CASH. You know, what I use to pay at every establishment. I asked if I could come back after depositing the money, and she gave me a straight face with no response. I'm pretty sure I do not look like a girl who would run out on a blowout -- I literally live down the street. I have been looking forward to this day for months! DryBar is so needed in Bakersfield. Today I got my hair done by Francis and she was very sweet and listened to what I wanted and made sure I was okay with any product she used. I really can't say enough how much I enjoy Drybar! Every stylist has been amazing. The salon is very pretty always very clean, and everyone is so friendly. I become a barfly because I enjoyed coming to Drybar so much. I get two blowouts a month. The membership comes with great perks. Discounts on additional monthly blowouts, Savings on Drybar products, and if not used they carry into the following month. I'd highly recommend adding in the scalp massage for an extra boost of relaxation. Coming in for a blowout is so worth it. Bakersfield's very first Drybar! I was so lucky to sign up for their double founders membership when the salon first opened. The double membership has allowed me to enjoy one blowout every month with my sister since they opened in January. My first blowout was done by Anyssa and I absolutely loved her! She did the crown tonic add on for and it was so relaxing and really helped with my dry scalp. My sister has extremely healthy hard to curl hair and the only person that has ever gotten her curls to stay is Erica! We were so impressed by her attention to detail. My sister is very soft spoken but she really enjoyed Erica and felt very comfortable talking to her throughout her blowout. I am not sure if it is possible to request a stylist because this location gets incredibly busy especially on the weekends. If I could recommend anyone it would be one of these two ladies. I think the dry bar is a great place for styling or getting a blow out. It can be a very nice way to feel like you're doing a self care service. However, my only draw back is the miss in being able to handle different hair types. I have very thick and curly hair and the blow out looked really nice but ultimately wasn't to my satisfaction given i still had quite a bit of frizz all around my roots and I had communicated that I like a smooth look on the top of my head. Truthfully this is likely a great place to go if you don't have textured hair. read more
