Well, considering I commute from NJ, that's pretty telling how happy I am with this practice! The front office staff is always warm and friendly and willing to try their best to squeeze me in and give me skincare samples that I beg for after every appointment. As for Dr. Saitta, I've been coming in to see him for years because I am performer and I can count on him to administer Dysport conservatively assuring that I can look my best without being expressionless. If I want more, I can always address that in a followup. I believe he interested in staying up-to-date with the latest and best dermatological medicine as he's mentioned a few times seminars or articles he has read. So I do believe he knows his stuff. However, it's his bedside manner and his character that really keep me coming back. Here are two examples: I had gone to him because an office here in NJ said I needed surgery to remove a pre-cancerous mole on my back. He perused the notes and said I should go back to that office and get the surgery done "First, because its important!" and second, to avoid the delay in switching offices, new paperwork, etc. He said it would take forever and it's better I get this done than to wait. That is the mark of someone who is more concerned with a patient than making more money. I also want to mention that, financially, I went through a very rough time during Covid because I lost all of my work. I was strapped but I needed to keep getting Dysport because I was still meeting with agents and producers. I figured I'd put my bill on my credit card. During my appointment, just in casual conversation, I had mentioned my struggles to Dr. Saitta. When I walked out and went to pay, I learned he had charged me an astronomically low fee. I couldn't believe it. I left there feeling so happy and heard. Trust me, Dr. Saitta is a gem. Talented and kind? Not easy to find in a doctor these days. read more

I was given a prescription by Dr. Do and told to go to Apothacary Pharmac-they take Medicare. spent 2 hours there who said they didn't. I called SINY Dermatology more than 20 times over the next 2 days. I was put on hd and hung up on. I was told to go to a Big 6 pharmacy in Queens. After another 10 phone calls, I was finally given that phone and now find it is out for delivery to the CLOSED SINY Dermatology East 76 Street office. not only do they not accept Medicare- I am forced to pay the full price and in now waiting in the cold in front of the SINY Dermatology E 65 office. I have seen Dr. Saitta and Brancaccio. For derm issues they were fine. Good yearly skin check up and they were able to help me with my rosacea. Dr. Brancaccio actually gave very good advice and the creams gave me worked. For cosmetic issues I would go elsewhere. I got Botox with Dr. B and had lumps and bumps in my forehead for weeks. Having received Botox elsewhere this is the first time I experienced this and on top of that it wore off within 2 months. Not sure if they dilute it with something that my skin reacted too. Went back to my usual lady who did a great job as usual at a lower price. read more

I visited the 7th Avenue location in Park Slope and was pleased to meet Dr. Karp. She works quickly and makes pleasant conversation that doesn't make you feel like you need a summer home in the Hamptons. There was a little confusion regarding my first appointment (I was about to get turned away as a walk-in despite having an appointment; I was asked to fill out papers I'd already pre-filled), but it was resolved fairly quickly. Appointments are fairly easy to come by (I was self-pay, so my experience might have been different if I'd presented insurance), and I didn't wait long to get seen for either of my appointments. My experience was good, and the prices were lower than I normally pay. I will definitely return for a re-up when the time comes. read more

I had an appointment at their Bay Ridge location to look at a mole on my back. The doctor told me that it was nothing to worry about and quite normal for someone my age. He said if I'm worried about it, he could take a biopsy. I agreed to the procedure, and it turned out to be nothing. A few weeks later I received a bill for $800. Now, I would never want to stiff someone for services rendered - but the doctor should have at least warned me that the procedure was not covered under my insurance. I may (or may not have) agreed to the procedure, but at least I would be making a fully informed decision. In addition, the wait was ridiculously long as they overbooked appointments. One of the things, I appreciate about the modern healthcare system is how efficient doctors have become with scheduling. Growing up it was not uncommon to wait 1 or 2 hours before seeing a doctor. At SINY - it was as if I took at trip back to the bad old days. I wouldn't recommend this franchise as their customer service is very poor. read more

Make sure to get everything handled before you leave the office, you will never be helped over the phone!!!!! The service is horrid and this practice could care less about patients - it is all about money. So don't waste yours here. I went to one in Brooklyn and it's not even listed as a location on SINY website. I got 1 attempted phone call from their office about my lab results that they never followed up on, yet got 5 emails, 3 texts, and 1 letter in the mail about paying the bill. They also failed to return my calls about a prescription. Moreover, there is no way to get in touch with their billing department - you will be on hold for 30 minutes at minimum and the actual office just hangs up on you when you call to enquire about it. I saw Benjamin for 2 concerns. 1 a face peel, second for a prescription. After the appointment, my pharmacy never received the prescription so I called Benjamin's office. The medical assistant said Benjamin didn't recall the conversation and Benjamin refused to speak to me over the phone so I could remind him of the medical concern we discussed. Unsympathetic, mechanical front desk. They force you to schedule an appointment to renew a prescription. Last time, they let me email photos of my clear skin to the doctor to renew one of the creams I use. Quite literally a month ago, I was able to renew a prescription over the phone with them. This time, I need to risk a bad breakout waiting for an unnecessary appointment, and then waiting some more for the medicine to come through, just to renew a prescription that's been working for years. All so they can line their pockets with copay and insurance. These would be understandable practices for a conventional business, but shouldn't a doctor's office emphasize the patient's well-being? Maybe that's symptomatic of a bad healthcare system, but my summary for this clinic is bad, lazy, uninspired service. Need more creative people at the front desk, because this solution doesn't work for me. read more

There is a reason why you stick with a medical practice for years. I have been coming to SINY for 20+ and all of the physicians I have used, particularly Dr. Lisa Gruson, have been wonderful. I recently needed Mohs surgery and had it done at SINY Derm with Dr. Ezra Hazan. He was just wonderful as was his assistant Stephanie. They were incredibly kind, patient and caring. This second time I went which was today , I wasn't seen by the doctor I chose again, which was doctor Ronald Brancaccio but at least I liked the dr. that saw me today Dr. Allison Jaekle , she took time to talk to me and explain everything about my back condition, She gave me new medication to try for 2 weeks , and in two weeks she will see me. She was very caring and patient with me. I liked the way she treated me. I will continue with her. I like to be seen by the same dr, because I don't like to be seen by different doctors because sometime you have to repeat yourself to different doctors and they have to be looking continually to your record and sometimes keep giving you different medications. read more

I saw Artie Haughy for Botox injections for horizontal lines and the 11 lines on my forehead. He also injected Botox for my upper lip lines.He assured me that I would see positive results. After a few weeks, and after paying $500, NONE of these lines diminished. They are all still there. Moreover, as a result of improperly injecting the Botox, my eyelids are gone and one eye is smaller than the other.The office managers were unwilling to accommodate me in any way. Terrible practice- save yourself and go elsewhere. They misrepresent PAs as "dermatologists." When I discovered today that the person I have seen twice doesn't have a medical degree and has been prescribing me medication I was shocked. I questioned the practice and they insisted he is a dermatologist because he has a PA certificate in dermatology. Made an appt 2 weeks in advance. I even took the week off from work so I could get the treatment I was going for and I mentioned on the phone. - MIRADRY- I called the same morning of my appointment to confirm I was going to be able to receive the treatment. The person answering the phone couldn't help because I needed to be seen by the dr first which I understood but I told her the treatment I wanted. which they knew wasn't covered by the insurance since is more aesthetic, first, waited 40 mins to be seen by Malory , she actually was very nice and seemed knowledgeable , whoever they need to be better at communicating since they're a dermatology clinic but they also have an aesthetician who does the treatments, anyway I was seen, and then offered to come back to the this Lisa aesthetician or whatever her title is I don't think she's a doctor, Malory gave me the price and told me to check Lisa's schedule to see if i could be seen the same day , at the front desk I scheduled a visit for the same day 2 hrs later , so I registered and went home to come back after , when I got there Lisa took me in and told me that unfortunately she wasn't going to be able to perform the treatment because she didn't have the tools required , that she would give me a consultation and I could schedule another day to come see her. She even said she spoke to Malory and she knew I was going back. Like why wouldn't you just call me instead of making me waste my time. I honestly left her right there didn't need no aesthetician consultation just to be charged for the visit? And she offered me to come the next week so she can order her whatever stuff she needed. Also, ended up going to a dif clinic the same day at much more reasonable price. Team very efficient and ethical, and great costumer service. Avoid this place for this procedure. read more

Heres where the 2 stars. Had to come back following week to "check" to see how going. EDIT: I wanted to wait a week or more before reviewing the actual performance of the dermatology itself. I had asked for a hyaluronic acid filler for nasolabial folds and hollowness under my eyes, which I'd had done previously by a different dermatologist before moving to this area. SINY used Radiesse instead, which I'm not sure is even commonly used for the undereye area. I was charged $700 and I don't see a difference at all, but can feel lumps of it under my skin. I've never been more disappointed. I will not be returning here. I'm not sure what this place is like on a more normal day, but I agree with what a previous reviewer said about there always being a lot of people in the room when you're in an exam room. My appointment was interrupted several times by other employees who didn't even bother knocking before they barged in. Thankfully, I was just there for treatment on my face, so it wasn't a major issue (save for my PA being distracted), but this is absolutely something to consider if you're coming here for any sort of appointment in which you may have to disrobe. That said, my PA was nice enough, but there were so many people in the room at any given time that he kept stopping what he was doing to seemingly put out fires with other people and patients. He mentioned that one of the doctors was out but that hardly any of that doctor's appointments were canceled "because they have to keep the money coming in," which, as a patient, was unsettling to hear. I get that it's a business and you want to make money, but you may want to at least wait until the patients aren't in the room to talk shop like that. He didn't take a ton of time to actually go through the details with me of everything he ended up doing to my face, and while I look fine and didn't have adverse reactions to anything, you may want to bear that in mind if you have any allergies to medications or anything like that. In terms of wait time, mine was about 40 minutes. I'm not sure if this is typical or if it was just a rough day because of the aforementioned doctor being out of the office that day. The staff at the front desk were efficient and friendly, but with only one small window with which to communicate with them (and the window being right near the bathroom entrance), the waiting room got uncomfortably cramped after a while. I might go back for a followup just to see if I happened to go in a bad day and it may be better otherwise. My experience was by no means horrible, but it definitely wasn't ideal. read more

Do not visit this office. I brought my infant son to see Peter Saitta in January. He walked into the room took one look at my baby's irritated skin from eczema, told me to pick up ketoconazole and walked out. At the time I was grateful for what appeared like his self assuredness and confidence in his diagnosis. But the cream did absolutely NOTHING. I didn't say anything and moved one. But then my insurance told me he billed them for a 45 minute visit for $395.36 of which I would have to pay $215.86. I was in his office for no more than 1 minute and his service was completely useless. When I complained to the office they provided no explanation and refused to reduce the charge. They all have a lot of side effects. As a doctor myself the lack of care in this office has left me appalled! This is my second time visiting this doctor office. The first time I visited this doctor office, and I was being assigned to the substitute dermatologist, because the dermatologist whom I selected online is on vacation. I wasn't being told about that. And the substitute dermatologist just glanced through my face, and said my skin wasn't as bad. If my skin wasn't that bad, why would I even bother to have my skin checked. Eventually, he prescribed a topical cream that doesn't cover by my insurance. As I'm coming back for the second visit to follow up, hoping to see the dermatologist whom I selected. Yet, he is out again. I've waited inside the doctor office for more an hour, and eventually the substitute dermatologist had told the front desk that he is on his way, and he will be in the doctor office in 30 mins.
