I rarely have anything nice to say about anyone on here, but Dr. Stratton and the staff at Schweiger Dermatology seem to be that rare combination of smart, caring, and on top of their shit I don't often find at medical practices these days. I've had goo experiences here in the past but after what happened last month I don't think I"m going back. Briefly, I went in to get medicine for poison ivy skin irritation. The staff and nurse practitioner who saw me where extremely nice and capable. I was prescribed 2 creams. The first one didn't work, so I asked to have the second one filled. I was told it had to come from a special pharmacy, which meant I had to pay shell out a $60 copay in advance. But when the cream arrived, it was the same one they had prescribed before. And Schweiger admitted to me they had called in the wrong one. They said that in order the get the correct cream, I'd have to pay another $60, which didn't -- and still don't -- think it make sense for me as it was Schweiger's mistake in the first place. I called twice to ask for workable solution to this and I've yet to hear back. I don't know in what business model it make sense to have a customer who pays thousands for treatment walk away over a $60 mistake. read more

I saw Dr. Michael Tee, and he was just horrible. I have a skin condition which is causing me significant pain, and he was completely dismissive. He opened by saying "I see it's getting better" despite the fact that he had never seen me before; gave very cursory responses to my questions; when I asked him to tell me about a drug he was considering prescribing he told me to "look it up on the internet"; and when I asked him to walk me through the care routine he was recommending he told me "my assistant will print out the instructions for you". He spent between 3 and 4 minutes with me in the room in total and then got up to leave; I asked him if he could give me more time because I had more questions, and he said "No, I have another patient." It was really disgraceful. read more

This is a great place to go and get checked out. In the heart of Brooklyn, with great doctors. I went to get an annual skin screening as Zocdoc doc promoted me to. And at first I was a bit skeptical going in because of the elevator. It's very slow. But once you go in it's a beautiful space, and you're approached by the front desk folks who are very polite. Once I was checked in which is done on an iPad that has a kids case on it. ( good move there ) You're called in by a nurse. Now let me tell you about this nurse. I really wish I remembered her name. She is a white passing woman, with long hair brunette if I'm not mistaken, and she had her hair in two braids, one on each shoulder... I think she had glasses. But she was so sweet. As a transgender person it's always very hard to find doctors that make you feel comfortable. Especially nurses, but she was so pleasant. She was funny, and broke me out of my anxiety shell. She even read all my answers to my check in process which was very assuring. AND she congratulated me on my 3 years of no smoking. Such a small detail but it really made the difference. I spent all day celebrating after that. She was exactly the kind of nurse you want to have. So thanks so much for making my experience a safe one! And Kautilya Shaurya he used the same mannerism. Very polite, open, transparent, answered all my questions. Aka I loved this spot. You should definitely check it out. read more

After falling (very) negligent on my annual skin-exam, I started to hunt in earnest for a Dermatologist in my area. I had previously had lackluster experiences at my prior Dermatologist. Plus they weren't in a super convenient location for me. I'm relieved to say Schweiger Dermatology ticked all the right boxes, and then some. Location is great for me in Williamsburg, so no more excuses. Office is very clean and modern. Actually, sort of incredible view of the trains over the bridge. Reception staff was very competent and efficient, easily able to communicate pertinent info. Medical assistant staff was also wonderful. Very warm and approachable. Finally, the superstar, Suzanne Cohen PA-C, was *exactly* what I was hoping for. She was very knowledgeable and attentive and spent plenty of time with me during an extremely thorough skin exam. Her demeanor was casual and personable, making me feel totally comfortable. I felt all my issues were addressed carefully and patiently, with appropriate treatments administered (and explained), recommendations made, and a follow up schedule discussed. Costs were explained transparently and she made clear what insurance should cover and what additional costs I could expect on a variety of my queries. At the time of the visit had no issues with my insurance (though that can always be a minefield after an appt, so I'll update if I run into any billing issues). Pro tip: The online portal for booking an appt triggered a somewhat laborious back and forth email exchange. Forgivable for setting up paperwork I suppose, but calling in was much more efficient to book the actual appt. Ultimately, I feel relieved to have found this office and especially Dr. Cohen and I hope to have finally settled on a long-term Dermatology practice. read more

I had a procedure with them one and a half years ago and yesterday I received a mail from them with a balance due!!! $250!!! I am lucky as I still have a receipt from them but this is what I think of!!! First it's been a cosmetic procedure and there's no doctor at this country who will perform it without payment first, second I moved to another state for that time so they purposely found me in another state in such a long time with the hope I lost my payment confirmation!!! Went in for a routine skin screening. Pleasant office staff and nice facility. Aside from that, the doctor seemed unprepared. I required a single prescription that wasn't properly logged in their system, nor was it called in. It required 4 additional calls back-and-forth to get it called in. Schweiger Dermatology also has extremely shady billing practices. My assumption is that they submit claims in such a way to scam people in to paying more than they should for a covered procedure. Interestingly they don't seem to mail you anything. Definitely question everything they bill you for. I will not be returning as dealing with them has been nothing but a headache. If you look at reviews across all of their locations you will see more instances of the above. I don't recommend the entire practice. read more

I had to bring my son in for a consultation because he was misdiagnosed with ringworm by his pediatrician. Dr. Susan Cohen checked my son and let me know it was not ringworm, but eczema. I was relieved because it had been driving me crazy for almost two months. So far his skin has been fine after her instructing me to just keep him moisturized and be careful with fragrance. I normally never write reviews, but for physician assistant Suzanne Cohen, I just had to! I've been getting Botox from Suzanne for about a year and she is absolutely fabulous! She is very conservative yet effective with her Botox injections. She has cleared my forehead lines creating a smooth and refreshed surface, yet I don't look stiff and fake, which I love! I also saw her in regards to a very large and painful cystic blemish I had on my face for about 2 weeks. She carefully and methodically injected it and it cleared within hours! She has a great energy about her too. I love that she listens to all my concerns and questions and she is great at explaining all my skin care options. I met with Dr. Cohen because I got some serious face acne and I was prescribed with some Epiduo Forte to help. Dr.Cohen was very informative letting me know that I mostly have clogged pores and that the Epiduo Forte would help but it would also start to dry my skin. Although I wasn't able to do any extractions at my first appointment because of my clogged pores the people working there was very nice and professional and the product I was prescribed to is clearing up my face which is awesome... The doctor looked at my body from head to toe to make sure there were no signs of skin cancer, etc. All of my concerns were addressed and the doctor took Her time to listen to my concerns. Horrible experience. I had an exam on 1/13 where 2 biopsies were taken. On 1/20 I get a phone call telling me the results are "benign" (no action necessary). Then approx. 1 week later I get a call from someone else telling me that the results are not benign and that I need to have these issues taken care of. I'm not sure what to believe at this point. I've spent the last 30 days trying to communicate with this office (have spoken with multiple different people). 2 weeks ago I had asked for a copy of my results sent to me, and am still waiting for them. No one picks up the phone, days (and sometimes weeks) go by without a return call. Then earlier today when speaking with the office I had asked to speak with the office manager. As they were allegedly trying to "transfer the call" I was hung up on (twice). I couldn't care less about this office, but I am compelled to advise the general public about the gross breakdowns and incredible lack of service at this organization. read more

Had a pretty great experience at Schweiger Dermatology. Sign in was quick and efficient. The woman at the front desk was gracious and genuinely welcoming. Appointment began right at my scheduled time. I barely sat down before I was called into the exam room by the Dermatologist's assistant (who was also super nice) to get the basic info. Saw the Dr. Cohen shortly after and she was great! Answered all my questions thoroughly, explained the treatment she was going to prescribe and was sincerely interested in ensuring that I received good care.
