I am sorry I did not do this earlier. Rose in the cardiac unit is the most thorough individual I…read moreever met. In this world we're people just complain about the medical field . Ever so often you get someone that engages and shows the do care.South Shore take care of this women not all new technology is good. The old school is better sometimes. Rose thanks for taken care of my hubby God bless you.

The ER was the absolute worst I had experienced in my entire life... rude staff (Not all -but too…read moremany). I came with documents from my doctor sending me to the ER I came in with various symptoms & a fever, I told the intake that I was seeing white and couldn't walk, it felt as though I was ready to pass out... they didn't care! Someone came out and called me in, and when again I explained that I can't walk, she just marched ahead and asked me to follow her clear across the ER never looking back to notice that I found a chair in someone else's cubical, I needed to sit or I would have fallen. Another nurse hurried over (one of the nice ones) and explained that I couldn't sit there, she heard me say that I was about to fall and that I couldn't follow the lady of whom by now was out of sight... this nice nurse got me a chair and wheeled me all the way across the er to what they call a stretcher/bed? (It was brutal and actually painful to rest on this for the 6 hours I was there). The original lady that told me to follow her to my "stretcher/bed" was down right rude! I'm shocked she works with humans. I'll make this short... cut to my discharge... the LPN walks over with a bunch of papers, circles a few sentences, says almost nothing except "here's the directions"... I showed her I had an IV port still in my arm, she replies, "oh ok I'll have to get the Dr to sign off on removal" after all that I ask her a few questions about what I should look for that would mean I needed to return? She said "I don't know here's your discharge instructions, I circled them"... when I made my way out of the ED (still lightheaded but better after the treatments), I get to Valet and find not one place to sit and wait for my vehicle, I was going to sit on the cement. The sweet Valet gentleman brought his own chair out for me to sit and wait. I need to make clear that I had spent time in this same hospital on a unit about 3 months back and I even called the hospital to make sure the wonderful staff were recognized for their amazing care and treatment. I mentioned each person by name and specialty...I was thanked and told that people only go out of their way to complain, they were so happy to hear my wonderful reviews. In short the ED staff, needs to be retrained on how to work with other human beings in a field of "helping" along with this ED needs to be revamped... as well, there is no privacy at all. Maybe they can take some pointers from the units and the staff on the units. I won't ever return to the ED should I need one, and I will certainly make sure anyone I love and care about knows of my experience in the ED.

When I inquired about some "out of range" results, he sarcastically said, "What do you think about them?" I could sense his sarcasm and asked Dominick Basile why he was being sarcastic. He said he didn't order those tests, and since I did not attend medical school, I shouldn't ask for them to be done. Ha! Some things were, in fact, out of range, although he didn't feel it was "significant." There was NO need to be rude and unprofessional. He doesn't know all the answers, trust me. None of my father's other doctors ever fussed if I requested a script for specific tests. My dad has been in and out of the hospital three times in the past few months. If it were up to Basil, my dad might never have bloodwork done because he's lax, and his wife, Laura, is a snot. They complement one another in that respect. A month ago, he made it so difficult and wouldn't sign the OT's request for my dad to get a commode, which the OT felt was necessary. His wife (who has to stick her nose into everything) told me the facility should have put in for the commode. Well, the hospital didn't do this. Was it such a big deal for your husband to pick up a pen and sign the request from the home care services approved? You should be ashamed of yourselves! It's always a bother, even to get a simple approval for something like a commode. My dad's O/T thought this was terrible as well. After I told the receptionist that Basile would be responsible if my dad fell, they reconsidered and finally approved it. Dealing with this office is always a hassle. My dad needs a caring, competent doctor without a poor attitude. I asked the staff (Kathy) to mail the blood test results, but they were never received. After two weeks, I called, and his wife (Laura) answered and asked, "Does your father save these?" It's a bother to receive a return call; it's a bother to get approval for medical equipment, bloodwork, etc. Save yourself the trouble and stay away from this office. My parents have received other patients' test results more than once. That is not good. That's how careless they are. About six years ago, when my husband was a patient, someone from this office made the appointment for me instead of my husband and confirmed it with my name, although I was not a patient there. Furthermore, when my mom's bloodwork revealed a very high reading of alkaline phosphatase, Dr. Basile said everything was normal; it certainly was not! I've found D. Basile to be lax and uncaring. I researched and knew that high (way out of range) reading may have meant something was very wrong, and it was. I recall a patient was furious with him and said he almost killed her mom for a terrible mess up. Doctors need to be caring, competent, and compassionate, and nothing short of that. You will not find any of that at this office.

Told if test results come back normal not to bother coming back even though symptoms still exists and diagnosis not made. That didn't sit well with me. Proper test needed to detect symptoms described were not prescribed by doctor as confirmed by radiology facility. That didn't sit well with me. Therefore only 3 stars. I expect my primary care doctor to be more investigative when addressing patients symptoms and resolve with diagnosis of cause of pain or referring to a specialist before dismissing patient. Instead I felt minimal effort was given.
