The doctors are good, but the staff are horrible. I have left so many phone calls and messages in…read morethe portal, and I never get a call back. Waiting for them to send a prescription for IVIG infusion and they haven't done it. Even the message from the doctor wasn't sure what the holdup is. Now my case is closed from Kabo infusions. What a horrible experience. Just look at all the Google reviews! I hope that NYU Langone can get this place in shape! So, if you are thinking of using this practice? Think twice!

In 2007, I was bit by a tick. I went undiagnosed with Lyme disease and coinfections for over 11…read moreyears. (Specifically, neuroborreliosis.) I can't begin to describe the pain and disability I experienced. Think of your worst charlie horse and make it last 24/7 for over 5 years "traveling" to one part of your body to another every few months and then these muscle spasms/dystonia continuing at least a few hours daily for the next 6 years... This pain was just one aspect of what I was going through. My cognition, balance, vision, hearing, fine motor skills and more were also affected. Outside of going to Drs., I was homebound from 2007 to 2013. In the beginning, I was taken seriously, but my doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with me, and the only thing they did was prescribe medications - LOTS of them including fenanyl. Thank God I never became addicted to them, but I was definitely VERY medicated, and as time went on I, developed more and more physical tolerance to them. My symptoms outside the pain also grew worse over the years, and doctors still had no idea what was causing them. Eventually, I was treated as though I was drug seeking, having psychiatric issues, etc., and I was "blown off." In 2017, a friend of a friend told me of Dr. Gudesblatt at South Shore Neurological Associates in Islip. He was the first doctor who took ALL of my concerns seriously and searched for an answer as to what was causing my symptoms rather than just treat the pain. Although it was hard dealing with office staff sometimes (as others have described here on Yelp!), Gudesblatt did more than a full workup, and he also listened to me. In mid-2018, upon my request, he sent my bloodwork to IgeneX, and that is when I was formally diagnosed. Within less than a week, he began treating the Lyme disease, and I then began seeing an "Lyme-literate" infectious disease specialist. I honestly don't know where I'd be today if it hadn't been for Dr. Gudesblatt. He never blew me off even when he couldn't find answers, he continued to do workups and documented all of my symptoms, and he listened to me which eventually led to my diagnosis...

I told him I was going to file for disability to please relay the information to the SSA. With disability I didn't get it. I kept running back and forth to the SSA and his office in trying to see what was the delay. He assured me that the information was sent. It wasn't sent. I got copies of what they sent. They didn't write the cause. They just sent a "hi" letter to the SSA so to speak. (Make a note people on how incompetent they are). Jonathan Winick is a two faced liar. Can you imagine having a cause for a disability, having the credits and having some loser of a doctor thinking he shouldn't fill out the paperwork? That's very illogical unsettling behavior Jonathan Winick displayed. It shows his abilities as a doctor. He cost me my livelihood. What an accomplishment! This was 10 years ago. Why i am writing the review now? 1. I wasn't into writing reviews then. And 2. the damage was done. I said heck with it I'll write it now. For a doctor not to help someone get their disability benefits when they have a legal cause and they are entitled to it is ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR. I feel very abused by Jonathan Winick for the reason stated. I didn't come there to be abused!!!! So my comments about Dr Winick is as following- I FEEL ABSOLUTELY DAMNED THAT I HAD SUCH SHEER BAD LUCK ABSOLUTE MISFORTUNE TO STEP INTO HIS OFFICE. Can you imagine a person holding a doctor as bad luck? If you want a doctor that doesn't care about his patients he is the man.

Dr. Winick took the cautious and appropriate action, sent me home since I had minimal symptoms and made a future follow up appointment. My symptoms became very severe about a week and a half later. I reached out to the office through the portal offered through Northwell Health. I also decided to call but it was shortly after hours. Dr. Winick personally called me back twice when he reached only my voicemail the first time. He offered to help with all the different aspects of what I needed. He was absolutely great. Like an old-time doctor who really cares about you. Thanks Dr. Winick, I look forward to getting better under your care and the other professionals with whom I'm working.

I have been told they are making changes and very busy. No reason not to return calls. The past 4 weeks have left numerous messages, and no one returned any call. I had left Intermittent FMLA paperwork with the office before August 5. Messages that I was leaving advised how my HR needed to have my FMLA forms submitted. August 5th had a Dr. appt. (5:45pm) and spoke to office manager to advise my FMLA paperwork has not been submitted and my HR needs ASAP. She advised it will be put in as Urgent (remember this was August 5th). . August 12th, after still trying to contact someone and leaving messages, my FMLA was denied because the Dr's Office did not submit the paperwork. I called the old phone number and advised the person who my doctor was and would not call the 833 # since I have been calling that number and no one returns calls. Of course, when I explained what was happening, I got a standard, I am sorry and that she would transfer me to a Mgr. I spoke to Madelyn or Marilyn (office mgr.). she advised on August 5 the paperwork was put in as urgent. I told her that today is August 12 and the paperwork was not submitted to my HR how is that urgent? She told me that within 1-2 days my HR department will have the FMLA paperwork. Today is August 17th, no paperwork has been received. Yesterday I left a message, after I was blind transferred to Madelyns voice mail, thinking I was going to speak to her. Advised this would be my last message and I was seeking an Attorney since I need my FMLA paperwork submitted. Offices of doctors know that FMLA paperwork needs to complete in a timely matter. No one returned my call again or sent the paperwork to my HR Dept.
