My sons picked up a cool vintage jersey, a vintage shirt, and a locally created independent comic book, while I found a beautiful pair of handmade earrings. The atmosphere was one of the best parts. The music playing in the background created a fun, laid-back vibe that made it a great place to stroll around and browse. I Would Revisit Philadelphia JUST for This Market!…read more Reading Terminal Market was easily one of our favourite stops during our Philadelphia trip, and honestly, I would come back to Philly just to visit this market again! The sheer number of incredible food options is overwhelming in the best possible way. There are so many vendors, cuisines, snacks, and treats to choose from that you almost wish you could eat ten meals in one sitting! We spent quite a bit of time exploring the market, trying different things, and figuring out what we wanted to eat. There were so many tempting options, but we were ultimately EXTREMELY happy with everything we chose. Here are just a few of the highlights from our visit: Miller's Twist: They made the best soft pretzel any of us have ever had. Seriously, it was THAT good! Really Reel Ginger: We picked up some incredible ginger snacks that were delicious and definitely worth trying. Kamal's: We tried knafeh here, which was a fantastic way to sample something different while exploring the market. Famous 4th Street Cookie: Their cookies were delicious, soft, and incredibly moist. Our favourites were the Blueberry Muffin and Ginger Molasses cookies, and they stayed soft for DAYS! Umi Seafood: The deep-fried crab sticks were insanely delicious! Perfectly sweet and flaky on the inside, with an excellent crispy tempura batter. We also loved how friendly the staff were. Hatville Deli: I went with their popular Corned Beef Sandwich, and it was fantastic. The coleslaw added a great crunch, making it a seriously satisfying sandwich. And that was just SOME of what we tried! There were so many other vendors and food options that caught our attention, and we barely scratched the surface of everything available. What makes Reading Terminal Market so special is the variety. Whether you're craving a hearty sandwich, freshly baked treats, international cuisine, seafood, or something you've never tried before, there's a good chance you'll find it here. It's the kind of place where everyone in your group can find something they love. My biggest piece of advice? Arrive hungry, take your time exploring, and don't commit to your first food choice before seeing what's available! You'll probably find yourself wanting to try half the market. In any case, it doesn't take too long to do all fifty floors. Most folks finished in less than ten minutes. There was quite a crowd; we even saw Mayor Nutter. All proceeds benefit the American Lung Association. Can't wait for 2011's Stair Climb!

The port 'o potty situation was surprisingly great. We never waited behind more than three people even though they seemed a little sparse. The crowds are insane. Tip: do not bring your dogs or strollers to this event. You'll just end up carrying babies and dogs due to the crowds. Night market gathers the best and most diverse group of Philly food trucks in one place I've ever seen, so despite the horrific crowds, you'll see me at these events again!
