Any seat in the theater is a good one as the amphitheater is small and intimate and the reserved seating rows go up every row so yoy can see over peoples head and not in between. The sound quality is great. The bathroom and snacks are above the seats. Snacks are beef jerky, pretzels, chips and candy. They serve alcohol, wine, beer, spritz. Over all great experience, down town Fair Oaks is a cute area with a pub across the street, a park attached and parks and rec center near by. BEWARE. Parking is scarce. You have to come way early to find parking or you will be circling the street and neighborhood a lot. Be willing to walk from down the street. Handicap people i'd suggest to get droppes off. They work with comedy club of SACRAMENTO. The comedians loved the fair oaks chickens. Host was Jordan Connolly and very funny. The first comedian was Jason Cheney The headliner was Tom McLain or "Big Tom" All were good and we had a great time, even though the comedians weren't truly mainstream. It's is a great venue and good entertainment for. They have snacks and drinks available to purchase as well as seat cushions. It's a better nights entertainment than sitting on the couch.

In May, my 10-yr old auditioned for its first musical: Ticket To Broadway (all who auditioned got casted for this show). She attended 1-hr weekly rehearsals plus a tech week and performed five shows in July at a beautiful theater. During the past two months working with SCMT, my kid had new opportunities to learn about self-awareness, responsibilities, perseverance, patience, and most importantly, to learn new songs and dance which she loves doing. She was excited about her solo parts and enjoyed practicing. This program had a healthy balance of effective discipline and fun. John, the Producer/Director, was realistic, expecting a kid to be a kid, and consistently patient. He is so creative and a great director, setting and communicating clear expectations to all age groups very effectively and also amazing at locating talents. John is definitely an expert working with children. Also, Aaron, PM, is one of the most organized and knowledgeable managers and pleasant person I have met. He made every process very easy for families and always sent out clear communication, which was a huge help for busy parents. The shows were fantastic and electrifying. Lots of laughter. Also teared up watching my kid on stage being comfortable in her own skin. It was wonderful to see all the children trying their best and having so much fun. Of the many extracurricular programs my kid has experienced so far, SCMT is now her favorite. This is what my kid wrote: "I was looking forward to every rehearsal, because every week we learned a lot of singing and choreography that was a lot of fun. I also gained more confidence. I liked how John casted everyone in the perfect songs that suit each cast member. It was also really fun to work with different age groups during all cast rehearsals where I got to meet many new, nice kids. I can't wait to go back to the next program!" I highly recommend to check out SCMT, its fall and winter programs. The people who run this theater are such giving and talented people. They truly take the time to work with kids and truly help them develop their musical theater skills and life skills along the way. The kids learn to work within groups while also striving for the spotlight. This theater offers camps throughout the year and also offers musical theater productions for all ages from 8 years old to 80 years old. Some productions are deemed for certain age ranges while others are all ages. It's a great experience for these kids to learn confidence and ability to thrive in all settings. I could never thank this theater company enough for all they have given my children and my family-I will always appreciate all the work they do and I hope it continues for many years to come.

So I'm a "Theater Dad"-I have multiple kids who caught the bug early and spent their entire youth…read moreobsessed with everything theater and being on that stage.As a parent their are many perks of being a Theater parent,I got to experience one of them the other night,my adult daughter is in the production Something Rotten! at the El Dorado Musical Theater and this took me to a theater I hadn't had the pleasure of ever attending and I love when that happens. This theater is located in a 30,000 square foot warehouse type building,which has to be so great for the kids and adults who partake in their productions-everything felt so roomy and comfortable-Parking at this location is a breeze,they have their own parking lot so that's a plus. When you arrive on show night after being greeted by the nicest friendliest people at the door checking your tickets,you walk into a snack bar area where they are serving various snacks and drinks where u can get pick up anything from a bag of chips,candy or even an adult beverage-very convenient for those like me who skipped dinner before the show. When you walk into the theater-it is a tad bit cold but they have thought of everything here-the very friendly workers/ushers in the theater offer their patrons blankets they can have at their seats while watching the show,which I felt was so thoughtful. As far as seating goes,they have 3 sections,the center and 2 sides,on this particular night I had tickets on the side but as I learned there really isn't a bad seat in the house,it's designed in such a way that the stage is right on top of you no matter where u sit-so no worries if u don't get 1st few rows center for the show. The production itself is so well written and so well performed by such a talented group of performers-I can tell that this theater truly does put so much time and effort into preparing the performers for show nights that I guarantee you will have an incredible time watching a show out at this really great family friendly theater. In closing-if you ever find yourself out in the El Dorado Hills area and you want to support local theater,which is such an important part of our community,I would fully recommend getting yourself out to El Dorado Musical Theater and catching a show-they are doing really great things out there.
