4.3 stars to me. We've been here many times. It's our go to spot for Singaporean food and Hainanese chicken rice! Most food is good, though there were a couple hits and misses on some of the dishes. The restaurant isn't super big, most tables are for 4, which is great when it's just my family. They have only a few round tables that seat about 6. While it can be a squeeze, we once managed to fit 8 people, 4 adults and 4 kids. There is often a bit of a wait with a long line, but luckily, we were able to make reservations with our bigger group. Once seated, you order from a QR code, and it's so easy to order a lot! Most of their servers were guys, all of whom were nice and efficient.   Parking can be a pain, as they have only a few dedicated spots, so be prepared for street parking in the neighborhood. The prices are reasonable, making it a great value for the quality of the food.

We visited this place on a Sunday evening. We were greeted by a host right away, and put our name on the waiting list. It was around 6pm, the restaurant was relatively busy, but not overly crowded. The host reassured us it'll be quick, which was nice of him. We ordered a variety of things to try, and my favorite ones are the fried egg noodles and curry beef brisket. The egg noodles is on the sweeter side, which my daughter enjoyed it very much. The curry beef brisket on rice has a nice flavor and not spicy nor salty. The portion of each dish was decent. I have never had stir veggies with whole chilli pepper in it, which gives the flavor a nice kick. We also wanted to try the satay, but was told that they are taking it down from the menu, which means it will no longer be available. I'm a little bummed about it, but the complimentary coconut flavored dessert was very yummy! The restaurant is spacious, clean, also had Singapore landscapes decor on the walls. Parking can be an issue because it's shared with another hotpot restaurant in the same corner. When I'm in the area again, I will come back to try other dishes.

If you are looking for authentic Singaporean street food and your fix of Asian curry Singapore hacker is your spot. It is a first come first serve basis restaurant and it is usually packed. Once seated, though you order everything through a QR code and the menu on your phone. what I like about the menu on the phone is that every offering has an associated picture. It's really nice so you get a sense of what you're ordering and how it looks like. My colleague and I am very simple. We started out with appetizers. We ordered the roti with a dipping curry, which was phenomenal and their chicken pamdan that had a sweet-and-sour like dipping sauce also amazing. My colleague ordered a Singaporean fried rice and he loved the dish. I ordered the simply basil pork with rice and a sunny side egg and it was phenomenal. The ambience is not overly loud, but it's not quiet either since it's always busy. It's in an open area seating so if you're looking for privacy, this is not your place. All in all I would definitely come here again.

Got the hainanese chicken. Was very good but didnt understand why they use such a big take out box. The two top portions were used to put the dipping sauce in but there was so little sauce. Probably better to use a smaller container and 2 tiny sauce containers. The chicken itself was soft and the sauces were flavorful. The roti canai was just ok. Not very fluffy and quite thick. Parking is quite a mess here. Very little spots and it seems like many cars are fighting for a space.

This is the same location that used to be Deer Garden. It has been completely renovated. Its feels bigger, welcoming, and brighter. Authentic Malaysian cuisine. We ordered Singapore Laksa noodles, Nyonya fried 3 kinds (veggies), Kari Lembu (beef brisket), and two bowls of coconut rice. The laksa noodles in soup was seasoned perfectly. Just the right amount of spicy and heat. The Beef Brisket tasted terrific, but was very tough and hard to chew, Service was quick and friendly.

This place was very authentic and super tasty. We learned that you can make a reservation and if you don't, you should arrive right at opening. Even though the food comes out fast, there are a lot of people wanting to eat here so plan ahead. We got the mee goreng, sambal ong choy, hainan chicken and pandas chicken skewers. All were amazing! Would go again

Came early before it gets busy. Very quick, friendly service. A nice place to hang out and eat. Good music. Was craving the Char Kuey Teow and decided to try the Pineapple Fried Rice. Not too sweet. Very tasty. So glad this resto is in my hood.

We walked past this restaurant heading to the Mochi festival at Nikkei so we decided to come for lunch. It portrays the hawker feel since you go to the counter to order. Some tables a big so people share tables. Service was good a quick. Food was delicious. We had 4 appies, - curry fish ball with pork rind, chicken wrapped with pandan leaf, smoked pork belly and roti and 2 bigger dishes, Char Kuey Teow and beef Randang with rice. We were 5 of us and lunch came to only $14pp!!! The curry sauce was spot on, the pork belly was crispy and tasty and the best was the beef randang with big chucks of beef brisket - so tender. Yum. On top of that, we each got a small bowl of bobochacha on the house for dessert after our meals. We'll have to come again and try more dishes.

Really good Singapore/Malaysian food! Large open restaurant where you order via QR code. Very authentic taste! We had the sambal egg, roti canai, and char kway teow. They were all spot on. The Sambal egg is really a treat. Prompt service and clean and bright. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but there is a small lot beside the building that says it's for customers of the place that was there before Hawker opened. Don't be confused! This is one of our preferred Singaporean places in Vancouver.

Nice spot for a quick casual bite. We arrived 30 minutes before closing and were told to grab our own table and order at the counter when ready. Our order was brought to our table only minutes after we ordered. Singapore Laksa: recommend! Very flavourful broth and came with lots of protein: tofu puffs, prawns, egg, fish cakes, and fishballs. They also have a vegetarian version. Kari Lembu on rice: Malaysian curry beef brisket with rice and comes with a small bowl of veggies on the side. The curry was delicious, but the brisket was kind of hard and difficult to chew. Garlic fried squid: I recommend this appie. Lightly battered squid with a hint of spiciness. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

Braised beef with black vinegar. Yum!!

Absolutely delicious! Fresh food, fast service and nice size portions. Very efficient way of dining and fair pricing.

It's awesome that I do not have to go to Coquitlam, they have a branch in Burnaby in Sperling & Kingsway. Parking is limited, I noticed many customers ordered takeout. You are greeted the moment you walked into the door. I say that's customer service! Then they quickly offer you a menu. I actually witnessed a couple coming in, the crew greeted them warmly & invited them to sit anywhere they liked & gave them the menu. After a few minutes, the couple decided to leave the restaurant without ordering. What did the crew do? They thanked them & said "Have a nice day"! Wow!!! The place is brightly lit with a nice decor with the painted motifs of Singapore. Nice white table with blue & white chair, the aesthetics is pleasant. Process of ordering is systematic, you go to the counter & order, pay for it, find any open table you like & wait for your number to be called to pick up your food. The food is as authentic as you can get. Do check them out, their chicken rice, Laksa, Roti Canai, Sayur Lemak is legit & oh so yummylicious!

There aren't too many Singaporean restaurants in the tri-city, but my Singaporean friend highly recommended this one. Their Hainaness chicken was so soft and tender, could use more soup. Their Laksa was too spicy for me and the meat balls didn't taste as fresh. Large portion though! The lemon tea was pretty mid.. tasteless and extra ice. I really liked their squid. A little soft but it didn't feel heavy. The sauce pairs super well. It's sweet but light. I wish it came in a bigger amount compared to the squid they gave. Customer service was so-so... they had many people working and some were nicer than the others lol. You were told you have to pick it up on your own but I notice they try to get it for you so that made it kind of confusing. It gets busy. It was extra loud and bustling in there. Two location-- one in Burnaby and the other in Coquitlam. Don't go to the wrong location like I did if you're meeting your friend up. This is the Burnaby location, and it's spacious. A few gnats were making their way into mr food though lol. I wasn't super satisfied. But I enjoyed their portions. I would come back and try again-- esp their Hainanese chicken rice.

If you have ever had Peranakan food in Singapore and wish there is a place selling it in Vancouver,…read morelook no further. Bibik's is a true blue authentic Peranakan pop up kitchen. Unfortunately it is not a full fledged restaurant (Covid has scuttled the plan) but luckily we can still get to have our Nonya food fix via the commissary kitchen. The challenge is actually placing an order. It is a pre-ordering system where you have to stalk their IG account. The call to order is usually on Sunday and you place the order online and make payment. Then you wait a week for the pick up at YVR Prep on Saturday (90 mins window). I am lucky to get my order in as it sells out very quickly. They have a limited quantity per week. It is usually 3 items which are available each week (appetizer/snack/dessert, entree and a drink) I think I have tried almost all the dishes they offer over the months. Everything is good. My absolute favorite is the Mee Siam. I liken it to Violet Oon (or typical Bibik household) standard in Singapore. You could taste the spices in the rempah. The aromatic is more pronounced. I just feel there is pride in the dishes made, to introduce what real Peranakan food is. For me that is really Singapore food, food that I miss. Now if only there is Ayam buah keluak too, that will make my life complete. Haha. I also wish for itek tim, hee peow soup and Babi pongteh. I was so glad I managed to try the Tok Panjang which was available during the holidays. That was really a feast with plenty of dishes -- itek sio, sambal prawns, chap chye, ngoh hiang, achar, pulot hitam and the nonya Kuehs. I love the design and packaging too. It is all very simple yet pretty and great care has been taken in the products. They are very friendly too. Follow their IG if you have a hankering for Singapore food. They usually post pictures of Singapore and the food. But that may not be a great idea now since traveling is restricted and it may make the cravings even worse.

Pickup was easy from their commissary kitchen. As you can see in the photo, the portions are very generous and it was very flavourful! There are actually a lot of prawns hidden under the fried egg, arranged artfully in a spiral. The fried egg was perfectly cooked with a soft runny yolk (just the way I like it!) Apparently they sell out very fast so if you want to order, best to do so on their instagram on the day the release the menu for the week. Only comment I have is I wish it was hotter as I picked it up during lunch hour and brought it home immediately to eat. I was too hungry this time, but next time I'd probably heat it up more. Still delicious lukewarm!
