We went to see if there was an area where we could host a party for family that was coming to stay at the hotel for the wedding. The person that we talked to was bright and cheery. She showed us the meeting room and areas where we could meet. She provided us information and answered all of the questions that we had. The meeting room and common areas that we were shown were very nice, kept clean and were well-maintained. The prices were in line with meeting spaces at other hotels I've been at. I highly recommend Sonesta Select Chicago Elgin West Dundee!

When we arrived at the hotel, there was a line backed up into the lobby because the check-in process was taking so long. There were two staff members working and while it wasn't clear what the issue was - computer lag, lack of urgency, etc. - the process was weirdly slow. There were several weddings staying at this property on the same night and people were getting antsy in line because they needed to get to venues. It appeared there was a shuttle running to the venue; we chose to drive ourselves and avoid some of that hassle. The room itself was fine. It's not updated but it was comfortable enough for our one-night stay. Every outlet in our room was loose except for those right next to the sink, meaning nothing we plugged in worked. Again, not a huge deal for one night but I'm glad we didn't need anything charged beyond our phones. The hotel was also a little loud, probably in part due to the multiple wedding blocks. We could hear the people above us well into the night. I left a dress behind in the closet and went back to get it a few days later. Staff were helpful in that process, including the woman who answered the phone when I called to verify the dress was there.

Their M Club was still under renovation and they issued cards to dine in a buffet area next to the Bar Louie that's in the lobby. The breakfast, which I took part in the next morning was terrible. I got there about 20 mins after they opened and they were rather busy, but the food was cold and stale. The potatoes were terrible, cold, rubbery, and far from fresh. The scrambled eggs were cold and there were hardly any left. The bacon was the only thing worth eating. Should be noted that all this food was sitting in heated warmers, but those must just be for looks, because they weren't keeping the food warm! The room I got was very nice, it was at the end of the hall on the sixth floor, overlooking the huge Panasonic building nearby. The room was very spacious and nicely setup, with everything in decent working order, except the toilet seat, which was too small for the bowl. When sitting on the seat, you were actually sitting partially on the bowl because the seat was too small. It's these little "attention to detail" things that really make or break a property. Since I stay in Marriotts so frequently I'm sooo sick and tired of the smell of their bathroom soaps and gels. Not sure why they don't rotate these by region, property, etc. They could very easily make it so when I visit different properties in different cities, I experience a different "smell" of soap and bath gel. I know this seems petty, but when these smells are thins pungent, it really does matter. The lobby was beautifully decorated with a player piano playing in it, which was a really nice touch. It's obvious the entire property's common areas were recently refurbished, which makes the property look and feel very nice and slightly more upscale than the typical Marriott. Just a word of warning that the parking lot seems to connect a road to a plaza with people cutting through it. I went to pull out of a parking space once and a car almost hit me driving about 30 MPH thru the lot, just cutting through. Overall, it was a decent stay and I'd stay here again.

I love the fact that they replaced the carpets with hard wood floor, never been a fan on the carpets at the hotels. The room was very spacious, bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. The water pressure in the shower could be improved, but it wasn't bad. The front desk staff were friendly and had easy check-in. The fitness center was bit small, but had more equipment in the room than other hotels like Fairfield Inn.... but because it was small, it felt closed in. No microwave in the room, has anyone notice that the hotels are removing them now? Is this the new trend?

If you're looking for a clean, modern Holiday Inn Express you will not be disappointed with this…read morelocation! I admit, I spend 200-300 nights a year with Hilton brands. We needed a hotel for a few nights as we needed to rest up after making a drive from the East Coast. I looked online and found IHG had the best priced hotels in the area. Given I normally am a Hilton Diamond loyalist, it felt like cheating on a spouse! It was exciting. This location is right off Route 59. There is the Marriott and all the local shops and restaurants, as well as "The Arboretum". The location can't be beat, with plenty of places to eat, shop, and grab a drink. Additionally, there is a flagship size Cabela's store and a moderate-large sized arena where concerts and events are hosted. The hotel is clean and welcoming upon arrival. The front desk was smooth and efficient and happily accommodated our request for a high floor. We checked in very late at night, so it was nice to have access to a small snack/convenience "store" on site. They had a solid selection of beverages, snacks, candy, chips, frozen meals, medications, and toiletries. The items are all reasonably priced, it's nice they don't take advantage in this area like many hotels tend to do. Our room was clean, fresh, modern, and inviting. We booked the standard double-queen room. The beds were plush and the linens were fresh and crisp. No visible stains or stray hairs to be found. The room offers a nice sized, wall mounted TV which can be easily viewed from both beds. There is an area for luggage, a wardrobe, a small dresser under the TV, and a work area with a desk chair. Everything in the room was clean and functional. We especially liked the LED lighting that runs along the top of the TV "wall" and along the top of both beds. Additionally, there were plenty of outlets built into the furniture and all of them worked without issue. If you travel with multiple devices like I do, you'll appreciate this! Our beds were incredibly comfortable. Pillows were plush and provided a perfect night's sleep. The cleaning crew is thorough and takes pride in the upkeep of this location. They do offer complimentary parking on site. There are several handicap accessible spots and an elevator on-site. Additionally, they do offer complimentary hot breakfast. They offer omelets, scrambled eggs, proteins, yogurt, cereal, etc. I can personally attest the breakfast IS worth waking up for! Given I am close by when I am in IL, I will not hesitate to stop in here during my next cross-country road trip! The location is modern, clean, comfy, and cozy. Staff and management are friendly and efficient. They truly accommodate the guest. I'd highly recommend this property to friends and family. It's a great property that is clean and well maintained. The price is also very reasonable, in my opinion. One of the nicest Holiday Inn Express locations I've stayed in.

The room I was in was nice and spacious, and I appreciated the desk so that I could get some work done. WiFi was pretty mediocre though, offering about 8mbps up and down. I was initially excited to see an RI45 Network port on the wall, but I quickly discovered that it wasn't connected. However their was an active line run to the TV, so as long as I was fine without internet features there I was able to connect that cable to my laptop and get 80mbps speeds which was a nice step up. Overall the staff were very friendly, the hotel was kept nice and clean, and the amenities felt modern. I would definitely recommend this location. It felt like a good value for the price!

Extremely Disappointing and Unacceptable Treatment!!!!!!!…read more This was our fourth time staying at the Hampton Inn in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. We have stayed here multiple times in the past specifically because it's convenient to take our three daughters swimming during the winter. Unfortunately, this visit was so upsetting that we will never return, and I feel obligated to warn other families. We checked in around 4:00 PM with no issues. Shortly after, my boyfriend went to our car to grab our daughter's pool floaties and goggles. While doing so, a police officer approached him, shined a flashlight into the car window, and questioned him about why he was there inside of his own vehicle, despite the fact that we were registered hotel guests. He was asked for his ID for simply going to his own car. This felt completely unnecessary and inappropriate!!! My boyfriend returned to the hotel, clearly shaken by the interaction. We went to the front desk to calmly address what had happened because we felt harassed and singled out. During the conversation, my boyfriend spoke loudly--not aggressively, just loudly, which is how he naturally talks when he's upset.( which was fully recorded by me) Instead of attempting to de-escalate or listen to our concerns as guests, the front desk lady shouted with anger for us to immediately leave. There was no effort to understand the situation, no professionalism, and no respect shown to us as paying guests. The entire experience felt discriminatory and hostile, especially given that we have stayed here multiple times without issue. What was supposed to be a fun family night turned into an embarrassing and stressful situation in front of our children. We felt judged, unwelcome, and unfairly treated. I would strongly caution families and couples against staying here. If this is how loyal, returning guests are treated, I can't imagine how first-time guests might feel. No family should ever feel targeted, judged, or criminalized while staying at a hotel they paid to be in -- especially when children are present! I believe this incident warrants further review by hotel management and corporate leadership. The involvement of law enforcement, combined with the immediate escalation by hotel staff and the lack of any clear justification, raises serious concerns about how guests are treated and how decisions are made at this property.

The pool is under construction so they have a sign at the front desk stating that because of this, they do not offer discounts but they will honor free cancellation. I was told that there was nothing they could do and they declined the request from booking.com because this does not pertain to third party bookings or prepaid. So we are stuck. The place is a ****hole. There are stains in the carpet up and down the hall, it looks like they tried to patch some of the maars in the paint on the doors and hall with the wrong shade of brown. In the room, there are stains in the carpet and white stains on the couch pillows. The bathroom is covered in what seems to be an attempt to clean with a hair filled cloth. Long black hairs stuck to every surface, and a fowl smell coming from the drains. There are signs warning guests of the no pet policy but there are obvious claw scratch marks on the interior of the bedroom doors. We were warned last night that if we were to use the side entrances after 10:00pm even with our keys that would be put on a no rent list. This morning we woke up to have breakfast in the lobby, the oatmeal looked like gellatinous fat, the eggs were obviously out of a liquid carton, the saugage was undercooked, but to top it all off, there was an attendant that decided the appropriate channel to have on both of the TV's was FOX NEWS while proceeding to have a loud conversation virtually involving all parties in the room describing a female politician as a stupid uneducated (expletive describing a promiscuos female) and speaking poorly about ceertain political parties. People can have their own opinions, of course, but as a staff person of a very public company, they might want to steer away from sharing their opinion as loudly as they could at breakfast and not offering an alternative viewing platform for those that do not wish to absorb the rhetoric. I wouldn't stay here again if I was payed to. In fact, I feel like I am stuck in this reservation with no way to change anything about this. Luckily I will be leaving in two days never to return. I work for a very global bed bank company and will be sharing my experience with them hopefully resulting in the termination of their contract.
