Was in town for my kiddos bball tourney and this hotel was an ideal location. However, I would never stay here again for a few reasons. Firstly, I had Mede my reservation weeks in advance and when I arrived the room hadn't been cleaned, so they told me to leave for an hour and come back. Secondly, no one came to change towels or linens, during our entire stay. We had to call the desk and go get linens and towels. More importantly, there's only one elevator and it AND the ice machine were out of order. Plus the bottom back door has suspicious activity literally all times of the night. Definitely wouldn't have kids here. The pool is okay, but closes at 10. The customer service is pretty trash, plus they double charged me. I'd steer clear as there are definitely better options in the area. read more

Began a 5-day stay (3rd floor) yesterday. I hear this property recently completed a remodel; overall the decorating is warm and inviting; the place is clean. The room is well done. My complaint: the room is missing a nightstand ( there is only one). The front desk person said that is "by design" .... Huh? If it was by design, they would have done something with the obvious gap on one side of the bed, moving the bed, hiding the power cords... I've never seen a bed/nightstand setup with one nightstand. Clearly an oversight. Down the hall I noticed the ice machine is missing. Also "by design"? Perhaps the remodel is still in progress? On the upside, I had a restful sleep last night. read more

The Department of Public Health should probably make a visit to this location. Worst hotel experience of my life. I, like some others on here, did not even make it through the night. Refrigerator was sitting on what looked like a lunch tray, collecting warm water- this tells me the hotel was aware of the issue. I discovered this because the fridge was not working and I was told to pull it out and look at the back of it (the unsanitary water spilled on the floor and my leg). This could easily present an electrical hazard as well. The room also smelled strongly like baby wipea and there was urine dribble going down the side of the toilet as well as crumbs on the couch. I was told they could switch my room, but at the point of my discovering the issue and having the repulsive water spilled on me, due to timing for a business meet up, I declined. My schedule did not align with the hotel's idea for "remedying" things by switching the room (the water thing had already happened and I was on a tight schedule); I DID want a working fridge so my partner and I could enjoy the beer we brought with us to the hotel. I had already put my things away and was on a tight schedule, so I didn't have time to play musical chairs with hotel rooms. The phone also was not operational, which I have never seen at a 170 dollar hotel. Instead of offer any sympathy or compensation, whatsoever, I was made to feel like the situation was my fault due to my not switching rooms. The GM was notified of the issues and never did a thing. I would pay the entire hotel fee NOT to stay here, SERIOUSLY. This review needed to be written. I booked the room for ME based around my schedule, not on Comfort Suites schedule. I expected the basics. The hotel did not provide the service that is standard for a hotel. A WORKING FRIDGE, A WORKING PHONE, SANITARY CONDITIONS. Who would voluntarily pay for this? Keep my money, Comfort Suites- just please change your motto to "The Customer is Always Wrong" or "Pay to Stay in our Filth". read more

Worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. I have had my fair experience with some not the most ideal hotels, but this hotel by far the worst on so many different levels. My friend and I booked a suite for a weekend to stay with our three young children. The suite we booked had great reviews from the booking website and said a great choice for families so I thought it was perfect. Now I know to check other platforms for reviews. This room was not a suite. There was a small loveseat with a small ottoman and a tiny one foot counter where the microwave and mini fridge were. So right off the bat I knew this was not ideal for a five year old and 2 two year olds. There was leftover Indian food in the fridge that made the room smell so bad we ended up trying to air it out with also keeping our hotel room door open. I called down to the front desk and asked for some cleaning wipes and after I cleaned it, it still smelled. We ended up not keeping any items in there because we didn't want to open the fridge door up again. Of course they didn't have enough towels but what hotel does? We left the room a bunch of times to go around the area and not once was the room cleaned. They offered the tiniest shampoo and conditioner but no body wash. Our first night the sports bar right next door played loud club music until 3 am. They must have been hosting some baseball tournament because there were middle school boys running and screaming up and down the hallway all night. I actually ended up driving myself and my two kids home because we lived closer by and just got a hotel to stay with my close friend who lived out of a town. The pool had these two older gentlemen who we saw throughout our stay playing extremely loud music to the point that we ended up leaving the pool because it was so uncomfortable. Both of the men must have been high on something. I ended up not staying the night for our second night and went downstairs for a cart to bring my items down and the front desk said they were being used. I have never been at a hotel where all of the luggage carts were being used. I ended up having to make several trips with my two young kids to bring items down to my car. This hotel had some questionable people just hanging around who were defiantly on some sort of drugs. Almost as of this was a half way house. It was very uncomfortable and I did not feel safe with my kids there. I would not stay at this place if they paid me. You could not make me stay here again and our room was crazy expensive and we booked way in advance. read more

Pretty much your standard $100/night hotel, although we won't be returning due to several small reasons: - we waited 10 min for someone to appear at the front desk when we checked in - the lobby smelled like pot - we told the front desk person to change our reservation, but they didn't do it correctly - we told the front desk attendant that our room phone was broken, but no one ever repaired it - the bed sheets had so much static cling that we were constantly shocking ourselves - during our multiple night stay no one ever came to change the towels or make the bed - orange juice wasn't served at breakfast There are too many better hotels in the area. My daughter had a dance competition at the cultural center nearby, and after researching reasonable hotels in the area for our needed one-night's stay, we chose Comfort Suites. It was a good choice! Parking right in front was easy, check-in was a breeze, and the room was large and quite clean. It even smelled clean! They have a decent pool with a small hot tub, and the usual standard amenities. Loved that in addition to a coffeemaker, we had a microwave and fridge! The complimentary Wifi worked great. Our bed was super comfortable, except that the mattress on the sofa bed our daughter slept on was quite thin, making the bed not too comfortable. We were worried that she wouldn't do her best the next day in the competition due to this. Next time I think I will have to sacrifice my love of a king size bed in favor of two queens. (Ugh!) I am subtracting one star because of the mattress, and because while they offer free breakfast, the next morning when we were leaving, the breakfast was supposed to be available starting at 6 am but when we arrived at 6:05, we found the lights still out and NOTHING set up. The guy at the front desk said that the guy who was supposed to be there hadn't even arrived yet. There were a few other unhappy people besides us. We had to leave, so we didn't get to take advantage of the breakfast. Thankfully there's a Panera and a Starbucks right in front of this place. But still.,. All in all it was a nice, quick stay, reasonably priced, and we would do it again. read more

Stayed here and was treated to possibly the worst experience I have ever had during a hotel stay, which is saying a lot since I travel all the time. First off, the rooms are dated, dirty, and the wallpaper is peeling which normally would have not been enough to get me upset enough to leave a review. When we checked in, the room had clearly NOT been turned/cleaned (dirty towels with makeup, unmade bed, notes from previous guests still in room, etc.). When I mentioned this to front desk person Janelle, she just kind of shrugged and said it really wasn't her problem. When I tried to get two of the bagged breakfasts (which are far inferior to other hotel's COVID breakfast options), Janelle said that she was only allowed to give one bag per room. Leftover urine stains on the toilet seat along with plenty of hairs throughout the bathroom and toothpaste and dust on the sink. Had cold showers 4 out of 5 days because the water wouldn't get hot after 9 am-not sure how a hotel runs out of hot water. Breakfast is the same everyday and got stopped trying to take it up to the room. Had to ask for housekeeping to come to our room since they skipped it even though we took the sign off the door. DO NOT CHOSE THIS LOCATION!! After my wife checked in, there were numerous complaints about the room being filthy and lack of basic amenities. Apparently, you can only use the front entrance, which is awkward because they have a parking lot at the rear of the building, which is completely locked. Yesterday, they had workers come repair mirrors in every room and expected all patrons to open their rooms up and be present while the mirrors were installed. This is Ludicrous!! Cycle the rooms and install the mirrors in unused rooms. Then my wife gets berated by the Manager because he was angry that she didn't want to be disturbed in the morning, to open the door for workers. Absolutely unacceptable. Both Front Desk girls were a total waste of space both Friday night and Saturday morning when we checked out. 2 different girls with attitudes that have NO business in Customer Service of any kind!!! Pool is closed even though I called the day before to make sure it was open and was told it was. This is the only reason I paid $150.00 for a room. Toilet broke and wouldn't flush after the 2nd use. I had to use ice buckets to fill the tank just so we could try and use it. Called front desk at 10 pm. NO maintenance guy and girl couldn't do anything until the Manager, Lionel, came in at 11 pm. Finally had to call back at 11:30 pm because he was there and still didn't call my back. Shocker I know! Finally was told they were completely booked and no other room to move us into that had enough beds. Mind you this is midnight and my daughter and grandson were already asleep since we had driven 3 plus hours to get there. Asked for a refund so we could go to a hotel down the street and told they couldn't refund my money since I got the room through Priceline plus they put a hold on my card for $150.00 for incidentals. So here I am out $300.00 for a room with no toilet. Lionel, the manager, told me he couldn't refund my money but to call Priceline the next day and they could. So....Next morning I asked for a receipt with the words "toilet was broken, no other rooms available so please refund" to give to Priceline and was told by the Morning desk girl (that acted like she was bothered I interrupted whatever she was doing in the back to check me out) that she had to get approval by her manager to get me a receipt. Are you freaking kidding me? I work in Transportation. You can print a receipt for anyone. How stupid and very rude. I gave her the key card back told her what a joke this hotel is and she threw the card back at me. I left and called Priceline. They called the hotel to confirm the toilet incident and the stupid girl told them a lie and they would not refund my money. The manager was not on duty to verify and I have called up there 3 times to speak to him and nothing. Also called Comfort Inn Corporate at least 5 times and have been on hold for hours and still have not reached them. This place is a total joke. I have traveled a lot and this is ABSOLUTELY the worst experience at a hotel that I have ever had. I read some sketchy reviews before booking there but i have used Comfort Inn before and never had an issue. Honestly, it's not even about the money at this point. It's about the fact these people are ok with treating guests like this. The breakfast was a whole other issue. 15 People standing for over 30 minutes waiting on eggs to come out. Well, I don't even have to go stay at this place to give it a one star. I called to inquire about rooms for dates in July and Allen (or was it Andy) answers the call and I begin to ask him about rates ($110 - $130 for a double queen room) and whether there's a restaurant at the hotel, if there is a pool and whether they serve breakfast and in the middle of answering the last question (and yes, I mean the middle because he hadn't even finished answering it completely - in fact, he actually interrupted himself) he said, "are there any questions I can help you with, I mean, is there anything else you need to know?" in this highly suspicious, suddenly on-guard voice. I was taken aback only for an instant and remembered the days when I used to work at a hotel and we'd get these "spy callers" from competitors all the time, but this guy's sudden "who are you and what do you REALLY want" attitude amused me. I have to also admit, I took a quick glance at the computer screen time to see if maybe we had some sort of seconds-long time-reset, a glitch in the Matrix, so to speak, that threw us back to the beginning of the conversation. I said, "I've been asking you the questions I needed answering, I'm not calling you from a competitor, so don't worry " and you know what that little rat snot said? He said, "Oh sure, sure, uh-huh" as if I were LYING and then, "well, it's just that I'm not used to answering all these questions," as if I were asking him about his favorite position in bed! Somewhere in there I told him we're getting our floors stained throughout the house and need to be out for 3 days but I still don't think he believed me. I could literally HEAR his heart racing as he talked and again said he's not used to answering 'all these' questions. And I said, "you work at a hotel and you're not used to being asked if there's a pool there?" He says, "well like the question about the restaurant," and I said, "I just called the Holiday Inn and they have a restaurant at their location," and he goes, "oh ok, that's interesting." That's interesting? That's INTERESTING? No it's not! It's a HOTEL! Hotels have restaurants! OMG! What is the matter with your gestapo, fear-factory of a dump that you can't even feel fine with telling a potential customer what your amenities are? I hung up with Allen/Andy but not before telling him they're surely not going to be getting my business... and hopefully after reading this, they won't be getting any of yours either. Or wait. Maybe I *should* check the place out. Any place like this is probably hiding something. If your teenage daughter leaves her duffle bag on the floor under the sink, it will soak the clothes and shoes she was supposed to wear to a wedding -- and the hotel will do NOTHING (not even acknowledge that there is a problem). The same front desk girl who hid in the back while you were waiting to check in will tell you 3 times that she'll "let management know", but at NO time will you receive any sort of communication from them. *If you book your rooms online (we had two) but then immediately inform the hotel that you're with the wedding block, they won't make any adjustment and will ignore you until "all the rooms in the block are gone". P.S. the deadbolt in room 314 doesn't work unless you lift up the door as you lock it. read more

Came here for my first business trip with my company and I must say for a chain hotel, I was thoroughly pleased. In a nutshell: -Beds were comfy (much needed after long day of travels/no sleep) -staff was awesome and super friendly -pool was not too cold (a lil small and shallow but it is an indoor pool) -Rooms were above expectations overall, very updated and clean -Complimentary breakfast had great choices, like eggs, meat, waffles alongside cold or bread choices. -close to good eats and quick amenities within walking distance. -if traffic is decent, Chicago is only 45 mins or so away Minus 1 star for: -lackluster water pressure in the shower -A lot of "blank" channels on TV. A little channel memory update would do the trick If I ever got assigned to come back on another trip or conference here (my company HQ is in Schaumburg), I wouldn't complain! read more

Two stars is being extremely kind. Not only is this hotel in dis repair as compared to years past, specifically ask for a quiet room and get put into one on the main street, that not only has the extra dead bolt bar broken, has wallpaper falling Then the next day ask to move, and specifically explain the noise issues, and wanting to get a quiet room, get moved 5 doors down on the opposite side of the hall, just as noisy, if not more so. What makes no sense is, the hotel has approx 75 rooms, there was a total of 21 cars parked in the lot, so logic says they could easily of moved me and everyone else with a 1 room buffer on both sides, did they? NO Friday night they let check in a wedding party, with kids, which all made noise late, and then again early, so 3 days of no sleep. With the room's doors being heavy, and very loud whwn opening and closing, and the doors having a 1" gap on the bottom, you can easily hear everyone all up and down the hall, including their conversations!!! On thursday night i run a decbel meter to see how much noise there was, and my decibel rating was up to 78 decibels at 3-4 a.m. But, at least the wallpaper was up and the deadbolt working. And at the same time the fridge was vibrating and rattling and was making a loud noise whenever it went on, and this hotel can't even afford to have a bathroom magnifying mirror in it. I have been coming to this hotel at least once a year for both almost 7-10 years and it has gotten worse and worse over time with very minimal maintenance being done. All of this, and my room keys stopped working on 2 different occasions. read more

Ahhh... The things I love about a moderately priced hotel. All the amenities without all the fluff you get at posh hotels. Free wifi, complimentary happy hour with two free drinks (wine or beer) and snack food. Fridge in room! An absolute must for me. Clean and comfortable room with king-size bed, dresser, closet, and love seat. Sadly, even fancy hotels often don't have a dresser and closet, another must-have for me. I don't need a robe and chocolates; I want to feel at home, which means I care about the room being clean and that I can put my personal items and clothes away. Only complaint...the water, which makes the coffee taste bad. I know that hotels and restaurants can't choose the water, but they can opt to use filtered water for the coffee and offer complimentary bottles of water in the room. Two would be nice. Oh, and the staff should knock more than one second before bursting in the room. Hubby had just crawled into bed for a nap. One second earlier wouldn't have been as funny. LOL! read more

From start to finish, we had a textbook experience with Comfort Suites. We had a Groupon for a one-night romance package which included a $50 gift card to Jimmy's Charhouse. The reservation was easy, as well as check-in. We were warned at the time of the reservation that there would be some taxes to pay, so that wasn't a surprise. Everything included in the package was displayed nicely in our king jacuzzi suite. The room was spacious and comfortable and impeccable. Our key was fine and Ronnie called about five minutes after we settled in to make sure we had everything we needed. Free wifi that worked well, and the amenities of the room were great. Everything was so clean. Free breakfast that had both hot and cold items, and yes, while the quality wasn't something like you'd find at a brunch restaurant, it was still very good for being a free help-yourself breakfast. They had hard-cooked eggs, yogurt, milk, cereal, bread, scones, muffins, juice, coffee, tea, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, and a waffle station. Comfort Suites was WAY better than a premiere Disney World resort we visited about a year ago. I would happily recommend it to anyone who needs a comfortable place to stay. read more

We worked with this hotel for our wedding guests, and it was a roller coaster at times. At first look of this hotel, I was thrilled with it. We didn't have an alternative that I liked (the recommended hotel from our venue smelled like cigarettes as soon as we walked in, no thank you). I was very happy with our experience with the girl at the front desk when we toured the hotel. A few weeks before the wedding, my sister went in and asked if we were able to use their conference room to get a group together for brunch the next morning. The desk staff were reluctant to do this and told her we would have to pay, which we weren't willing to do to use an empty room on a Sunday morning. Sure enough, as we were checking out, they told us they had the conference room ready for us. While this was nice, we had already made other plans, and it was quite strange that they were all-of-the-sudden willing to do this when they were so reluctant before. Then came the issue of a shuttle. We had a difficult time getting a straight answer if we could or could not use the shuttle. At first, we were told that they would only shuttle within 5 miles (which is rather silly in this location, as 5 miles will pretty much only get you to restaurants that are in walking distance anyway). Then, we were told that it would be free if we got a certain number of rooms, and then we were told that it would be $75 no matter what. We were fine with $75, so we just went with that. A couple days before the wedding as we were confirming times, we were told that our times were OK IF none of the other weddings they had to shuttle conflicted. We were obviously quite alarmed by that statement and spoke with the manager. He quickly apologized and everything with the shuttle ended up being fine. We stayed in a whirlpool suite, and the room was very nice. Although we were really there only overnight, so I may not have had much time (or energy) to find flaws, I was happy with the room. The most difficult issue came as we checked out. We were told we had enough rooms to get ours for free, which is what we were told when we checked in. We went to put our bags in the car, then went back in to say goodbye to a family member. When we walked back in, the front desk worker called us over and said that she made a mistake and would have to charge us for the room. We were a little shell-shocked and paid without asking too many questions. We called later in the day and were told that 2 of the rooms in our block did not originally book under our block, so they didn't count, and it couldn't be changed. I, obviously, was quite upset about this situation and decided to email the manager about a week later. I would have given the hotel 2 stars, but he was very apologetic and looked into the situation. We ended up getting our money back for the hotel room. All-in-all, the hotel was very nice, and I think it would be a perfectly nice place to stay for a weekend. I can't imagine this hotel does many weddings like this (as there really aren't any venues nearby), so I can't fault them too much for the issues we experienced. Worst hotel I've ever been to. The worst part was the rude staff they were unhelpful and unfriendly. Other small annoyances were the ants around the indoor hot tub. Evertime you would get comfortable you would feel one crawl up your neck. The other issue that irratated me was the door latch had been broken off so I couldent keep the cleaning service out while I was in the room. They walked in on me twice. I went to the front desk asking for atleast a do not distb sign. It took them 2 days but they finally found one for me. Ive never complained about any business before but found it very hard not to share my experience with everyone. Move on to the next place. Clean place and quiet. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was marginal, but what you would expect. I didn't swim in the indoor pool, but the water looked a bit cloudy. Otherwise, place was quite clean. Price about what you'd expect. Rooms are okay from size perspective; couch/fold-out-bed, 2 full beds, microwave & fridge. Building is smoke free. Terrible customer service. Unfortunately, I had to cancel our reservation when my wife became sick. The "manager" was extremely unhelpful and borderline rude. I will never make a reservation at this chain again. read more
