So, I'm not usually one to go inside at a gas station but long road trips require bathroom breaks!…read more The facilities themselves are hit and miss. Most of the time, the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. My toddler lets her clothes hit the floor and we have to change her completely because someone else's urine is all over the floor. The toilet seats have poop on them, even the door handle is questionable. Why am I giving 4 stars? The staff!! No matter the time of day or the amount of people, they are always so nice! They interact with my kids and make jokes, always smiling and offering to help. It's funny because I have watched the same person interact with a truck driver who doesn't want to be bothered and they tone down the smiles and jokes. I'd stop here for gas and definitely stop here for some snacks, but go down the street to use the bathroom.

Hawthorne Chevron is not a bad stop…read more I had to stop here to fill up for fuel, use the rest room and take a little break. It was conveniently located and easy to get in and out of. There is plenty of parking for regular vehicles, RVs and semi-trucks. That is always a plus. Also, I could be wrong but I believe I saw a truck weighing area. I dont know if it is still in use or in service. I am not sure so please dont quote me on it haha. The pumps are not to busy and you dont have to wait for a pump. Nothing is more annoying that waiting for a pump. There are plenty of pumps and the wait times are short, if any. They have little knick-knack/souvenir items inside along with your regular snacks, drinks, water, coffee, etc. Inside the store. Not a bad place to stop. If I am ever passing by this is where I would stop by again. Thanks for reading my review.

Out of the four machines available for gas only one was working properly. One machine had an out of…read moreservice bag on the pump handles for both sides. One machine was seemingly out of gas and would not dispense anything even after accepting payment. Sadly this was the one my colleague tried first. A third machine was not accepting payment on one side and had an out of service bag on the pump handle on the other side. Luckily, the last machine accepted payment and pumped gas very slowly. When stopping in Hawthorne for gas, I'd recommend going to a different station to avoid the hassle.

You can enter Hawthorne directly or via the other end of town using the bypass. There's plenty of gas stations to choose from, and for reasons I can't explain, I chose this Chevron station. My understanding is that most "Big Oil" stations are owned by independent businesses but subject to company rules regarding branding, appearance, etc. After filling up here, Chevron Corporate might want to take a closer look at this place. Here's what I noticed: - Street side price sign incomplete or broken. - Over half the pump stations were inoperable - Rest rooms were out of order. - Entire station looked unkept and dingy. After all this, there was no way I was going into the interior mini-mart space. But at least the pricing was competitive and the place we had lunch had clean rest rooms.
