Hello, I want to share my experience with Nova West Energy. While I was in the market to add a…read moresolar system to work alongside my existing one, I interviewed about seven different companies. I took my time researching, reading reviews, evaluating customer service, and even checking the Better Business Bureau. After all of that, I narrowed it down to two companies, Nova Energy and another local company in Fresno.Ultimately, I chose the other company because they hold a roofing license as well. This was very important to me due to a previous bad experience with SolarCity damaging my roof and not fixing it. I ended up fixing it out of pocket. That being said, Nova Energy truly stood out. Justin took the time to thoroughly educate me and presented a very well-designed system tailored to my needs. Honestly, I would have gone with them if it weren't for my prior experience and specific concerns. What impressed me most is that they genuinely care about their customers. Even knowing I was comparing multiple companies, they were patient, transparent, and focused on making sure I understood exactly what I needed for my home. Even after I told Justin I had decided to go with another company, he still took the time to make sure I was fully informed. He reviewed key details with me such as solar panel quality, system performance stats, degradation rates, and the difference between kW and kWh, just to ensure I was making the best decision for my home. That level of professionalism and integrity really stood out. In today's world, many companies treat business as just a transaction, sell a product and move on. Nova Energy is different. They take the time to understand your needs, educate you, and guide you without pressure. Their approach is honest, professional, and customer centered. Their pricing is very competitive, and they don't try to oversell. Instead, they explain your actual energy usage and make sure you don't overproduce unnecessarily. That level of integrity is rare. They also have excellent reviews, offer a strong 25-year roof warranty, and clearly stand behind their work. Even though they didn't end up installing my system, I believe my hesitation around roofing, despite them having a 25 roofing policy, was more related to my previous negative experience and my need for extra reassurance. If anything, if you are in the market for a solar system, I strongly recommend giving Justin a call. He is honest in his evaluation, does not try to oversell, and takes the time to answer every question you may have.

This was the only solar company that asked the right questions about my existing system to provide sound professional advice, instead of just trying to sell me something. I would use them in the future, and would recommend anyone looking into solar to talk to these guys!

Once it was time to put the solar on the house, the guys who came out did a great job installing my solar and were able to finish the install by the time I got home. There was an issue with the electrical box (unknown exactly the issue). I called the solar team and they sent someone to my house within an hour of speaking with me. Ivy and Tony where two solar/electrical technicians that left a memorable impression with me by their outstanding professionalism and customer care.

I received an alert on May 20, 2025 from mySolarEdge that my panels were not producing any solar…read more Upon inspection, I discovered that my panels had not been producing solar since March. When I called mySolarEdge to ask why I did not get consistent notifications, they said it was because the installer, Solar Negotiators, had put themselves as the "owner admin" and receive the notifications. They also informed me that these notifications are free as they are part of the app. I called Solar negotiators back and I was informed that they do get notifications from mySolarEdge. They initially stated that it was my responsibility to inform them of when my solar panels are not working so that they can repair it. However, when I reminded them that I do not even get notifications from my app because they are the owner admin, they admitted that they do receive notifications for my system and that they would normally catch it and reach out to me to repair it. They also stated that they have been busy over the Spring and therefore had not been able to address the issue in a timely manner. They advised me to send them a tru-up bill in order to receive reimbursement. I reached out to a representative on June 4th and provided them with my tru-up bill. However, they would not provide me with any updates or status changes unless I prompted them with emails. Finally, after my fifth prompt, I received an email from a customer representative informing me that I was responsible for notifying them of any loss of power and they would not be able to reimburse me at this time. This is completely different than what I was told on the phone previously. I believe this company was using misinformation and delayed responses in order to not address my issue. In addition, I was never informed that they had control over my account, which I believe is a tactic to force me to either consider paying an additional cost for their monitoring app, "Know Tru-up", or risk not get reimbursed when my system loses power without my knowledge. Edit: Cindy, the Chief Administrative Officer, did reach out to me and was very pleasant in trying to help me. She reached out to Solaredge and was also informed by them that Solar Negotiators did have full administrative access and that they could grant it to me. She attempted to work with making that change but nothing has occurred in the past two weeks. My review still stands but I do appreciate leadership taking accountability and trying to remedy the situation.

The reviews for this company speak for themself but tldr: this company is terrible…read more I built a new house with Thomas James Homes and we were required to hire Complete Solar to install our new solar system. We ended up upgrading our system and between TJH/Complete Solar, they forgot to re-submit the plans to the city which ended up causing a multi-month delay. Our house was 100% done but they couldn't turn the solar on due to this massive error, so we couldn't move in. The error was so egregious that I fought with TJH and they ended up offering a large credit to make up for the issue. How many times has a builder had to do this? (I would assume they split/charged Complete Solar for this but as you'll see below there were some clear shenanigans going on between the two of them so maybe not..) From the get go, our first meeting with Steve Walden did not go well. I had solar on my old house so I sent him all of our old bills/information/etc and he came to the meeting totally unprepared - had not reviewed any of it. Ok whatever, maybe he had an off day. Afterwards though, he sent us a quote with three different options and there was a $14,000 pricing error in the system we wanted that I caught (not sure how any reputable/knowledgeable solar rep would miss this). I also got a few comparable quotes for the system we wanted and they were anywhere from $7,000-$14,000 cheaper! WTF? This makes no sense as Complete Solar gets 'free leads' from TJH so their system should actually be cheaper than competitors since they don't have to pay for acquisition (I would guess solar companies pay up to $1-2,000 for a qualified lead). When I looked up the company's reviews, they were all terrible! But there wasn't much I could do about hiring them.. I think it's pretty clear that there is some behind the scenes relationship between the two companies (maybe a trip to Hawaii for TJH execs, brother in law runs Complete Solar, etc) because there's no reason for TJH to use such a shoddy solar installer. They wouldn't even let me bring in anyone else since they weren't a qualified sub contractor. They also never mentioned anything about switching to time of use which I believe will save me money, so now that I'm 4 months into my solar operation, I submitted a request and that probably cost me an additional few hundred dollars. Ultimately, they got the system installed, and it's working fine/great but the reps are not that bright, they way overcharge and their screw ups could cost you even more money. I do not recommend!
