My husband called ahead when we were moving our belongings and spoke to the site manager and she assured him that we would have a storage unit when we arrived. When I arrived to Wheeler Road Self Storage after a long day of moving and a very long drive, the site manager graciously took care of me and squared me away with a unit that was exactly appropriate for what we had to store. The process was very quick and pleasant and the terms were clearly explained such as rental insurance, fees, etc. There are great features at this facility but the one that I appreciate the most is the on-site security. There are cameras throughout as well as the gated access requiring your passcode to gain access to the part where the storage units are located. Another feature if you need it is the air conditioned unit option. If you want a storage unit where you can feel safe and have your belongings there without much worry, then you should strongly consider these folks here! There are several locations throughout Augusta, just search and see what is more convenient for you!

Became a customer about 6 months ago. After a couple months, my rental unit price was increased by…read moreabout 18%!! The excuse is that "everybody does it". Then, the roof starts leaking in one of my units ( I rented a 10x20, but they gave me two 10x10's without so much as an email). Some of my items were damaged from the roof leak, but it was minimal. I immediately reported the leak to Corporate through local staff. No one has contacted me from corporate to discuss compensation, moving my things to a unit that doesn't leak when it rains, or even an apology for damages and inconvenience. Local staff has been great, but they have no control over anything. The location of the leak puts both my units at risk, and I had to move all my stuff to the sides and tarp it all and provide a key to staff to come and go in my units as they please to make repairs. And I'm still paying the extra 18%. Find another place if you want your things to be protected from weather and corporate self-interest.

The gentleman helped guide us through the process of pick up and return and purchase of few needed moving items made our experience alleviate a lot of those moving headaches. The van we received had no damages or issues. We were able to utilize it and return it back with half tank of gas as requested. The return process was easy. There is a key slot to drop off the vehicle after hours. Just park it in the returns section and walk up to the front door and slide the key through the drop box. Easy & painless moving experience!

I asked how that was possible and they had no explanation. Actually when you safely fill them they should be only 80 percent full so that is dangerous and someone needs to learn to reset the machine when a customer leaves. They also need to learn what the safety standards are for a propane tank. Will not be buying propane here again.

I got out and told him I believe it's the gate. Two other people pulled up and I told them the same. The lady on the phone says she can't reach the manager and would call me back. On of the ladies behind me says it's been down all day. I back up to turn around and leave, one of the guys behind me turns put to be the owner and lives on the property. He let's himself and the truck I let ahead of me right in. Instead of saying, no worries I can get you in when I approached him to tell him the gate was acting up. He simply said, ok thanks. So of course as I turn back around to try to get in with my code and the temporary code, no luck and owner was not in site at the gate to help.​

If you don't have your own insurance, you can. Get some through them. Pay in advance, monthly, or set up automatic payments. The management is very friendly and willing to assist with your needs. You have 24 hour access to your storage unit. There are cameras on site for your protection. An added bonus is they are located aalmost across the street from Dukes BBQ. You can stop in for a bite after managing your unit.

I continued to get collection phone calls in the following four days. The gizt was: "we haven't received the check yet. You need to make the five dollar payment over the phone because we WILL charge you a late fee if you are a minute late! I reminded them I was a good customer and to just cancel the fee when the check gets there tomorrow. Then the chisler claims on behalf of the chisler owner that they can do no such thing because "corporate" will not allow the local owners to make those kinds of decisions! Bottom line is this: do not use Cubesmart storage at ANY location! Corporate Cubesmart has new totally anti-customer policies. This hatred of their customers and greed for a trivial five bucks on accounts that have netted tens of thousands is absurd! There are dozens of better competitors than these. ..I want to say "clowns", but that might violate review guidelines, so we'll leave it at business unsavy circus dwellers and their corporate ilk.
