I've been here three times and have had good experiences all times. Paula is great and I really like that way she does the massages. They do use some hot stones on you and it's a table massage not a foot spa massage. If you go with your partner they will pull the curtain back so it's a couples massage. Cost is $60 and the do have a signs that recommends $20 tip for one hour massage. They have experience in Thai massage if you are into that. The signs in the desk specified to leave a 20-25 tip of gratuity. The manager led me inside and I got comfortable. Here is when things take a turn for the worse.... She comes in (same lady that rang me up btw), and starts spraying something on my arms and legs as I'm laying on my stomach. I'm like thinking, oh no, it cannot be.... It IMMEDIATELY started to sting my sensitive skin. I turn around and ask her, what did you just spray on my skin?! She says, "sanitizer." I'm like, "take it off immediately!!! I have very sensitive skin, and it's burning." She brings a wet towel and proceeds to take it off. I'm surprised she didn't drink Clorox to kill the COVID-19 like Trump had mentioned. The ignorance out there is scary and out of control. Anyway, at that point I am livid and fuming. I manage to keep my composure for the sake of the other clients (there's only curtain dividers, so you could hear everything.) She starts massaging, and starts getting calls from clients. She goes ahead and answers, talking on her earpiece. I couldn't relax at all. Then a client comes in, and she goes ahead and leaves to attend to the client. I'm giving them 3 stars cause I have mixed emotions after our experience. I booked this place to surprise my spouse for a 90 min deep tissue with hot stone massage. They have a room for couples who want to get treatment together. My experience was perfect, the masseuse hit all of my pain points and gave the best stretch I never knew I needed. I commend her for doing a great job and now I feel lighter and better. However, my partner's experience was far from mine. The first 30 min was really going well for him until a transition to a different masseuse took place without consent. He wasn't able to express his disappointment since the new one in-charge is a much older lady so he kept silent out of compassion. His major complaint was the difference in the applied pressure and technique of the first vs second masseuse as his right back was massaged better than the left and the rest of his body were handled very lightly like just mere touch. In his opinion, if the transition did not take place, he would have enjoyed it and we would go back here but I think that's not going to happen. Also, with regard to payment, please note that they collect first before service which initially I thought was a bit off but then I realize it's more convenient as you will only have to give tip to your masseuse after the session. I have been here 4 times previously and everything had gone well. They spend the first 10-15 minutes stretching you out and then the massage begins. Okay so this last time I go with my mom. And the masseuse begins 11:09am and I felt like a really long time has passed since we started and I look up to see 11:39am. A whole 30 minutes of just stretching so I say ca you start? So she begins and it was a mediocre massage at best. It is now 12:01pm and she begins to pass a wet towel on my back, lets and feet. She then asks me to turn around and she begins to squeeze my body and stretch me some more. Did I speak up! Yes I did! But she spoke no English. So the other lady steps in and I tell her as my mom is in the same room. She tells her to fix it and then she starts to squeeze my body. So i stop her again and she translates by this back and forth we have 10 minutes left. So they trade places. I am beyond annoyed because up until this point it had been a good place to take my mom. But I essentially paid 84 dollars for a 30 minute back massage and stretching. I of course can be heard complaining so they ask me to call back and speak to "lida" or Lira. I call her and explain the situation and she offers me on another date a 1 hour massage for free of cost. I take her up on it well because it was an expensive stretch. I came back today and Lida took care of me! It was exactly what I needed for my body. At first I didn't want to mention her by name because I don't want anything to affect her or her job. Her name was Amy if I remember correctly. And she without asking me first or mentioning it. Placed these what i could only describe as medium sized icy hot patches on my back. When it came time to pay. I gave her $100. I told her. Keep $20 For yourself and the rest which was $80. I'll take. She comes back with $70. Saying..well. I put those icy hot patches on your back. Honestly. It angered me. She knew what she just did was so low, and dishonest. I told Her. I'd appreciate if next time. You first ask me if I'd like you to apply them to my back for an additional fee. Il still continue to go there because the people there are nice. But I don't care if it upsets this person if I have to say in front of her that I don't want her to helping me going forward. What she did was wrong and dishonest. Everyone else there is awesome. The worst thing happened when coming home I found cash was stolen from my wallet. Let me start by saying Simply Relax is simply the best hidden secret in the San Fernando Valley. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming. Calling for an appointment is always so easy. They do their very best to be very accommodating. Helpful tip: There is ample parking in the back. This place is so clean and relaxing. In the back, the place is divided into different sections. So privacy and quiet are no issues at all. I feel like I'm in a 5 star spa. On to the massage, my go to person is Paula. She is absolutely amazing! Just tell her where it hurts and within seconds she finds those knots. I've had alot of massages in my life and I can tell you she has a talent of targeting those trigger points and using her magical hands to release the pain. She uses the perfect amount of strong pressure but don't be afraid to tell her if it's too much. She knows what she is doing! The best part is the incorporation of those hot stones. I said I'll tip later.. already bothered by that I tried not to let it ruin my massage, throughout the 1hr long massage I kept hearing noises, talking, and phones ringing, really not a lot of relaxation going on. The massage was ok. I payed $60 for the massage, I decided I would tip 18% for my service, which was more than enough for the service provided. Mind you, there is a sign at the front that says the recommended tip for a 1hr massage is $20-$25. Immediately finishing the massage the lady said ok tip on Zelle or Venmo? And then when I sent over $11 via Zelle, she saw it, and rolled her eyes and made a disapproving noise, didn't say anything else. I walked out of there regretting my tip and feeling very upset.
