But when I looked up ice cream places in the area on Yelp, I saw a picture of a wildly large cone from here and this had to be the place. It turns out it was only a mile or two from where I was, and I can't believe I haven't found it sooner! I pulled in promptly when they were opening at 11:30 and the server was helpful and fast. I asked if that enormous cone was a size large and she said yes, so I ordered that in the rotating twist flavors of coconut and blueberry and also got a baby cup of vanilla soft serve for my dog, which for a baby cup was enormous. Together they were under $5. So fair! We went to sit in a nice covered patio area. There's a lot of outdoor seating space! While we were sitting, the place started to get busy with people coming for lunch as well as ice cream. They were ordering things like burgers and quesadillas from what looked like nice grill menu. At the prices here, I'm not surprised that I saw a couple of large families come to eat. I mentioned this to a friend who lives in the area and she never realized they have food. Maybe they don't publicize that on their socials enough and they should, everything very good. My ice cream was creamy and delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. The lady taking my order asked if they could put some pink flowers in also to make it all "pop". I agreed. I made a point of telling her I wanted this cake COVERED IN YELLOW FLOWERS. She seemed to understand. I even offered to pay an extra amount to ensure it was OVER THE TOP. She assured me she understood the assignment. When my husband brought the cake home, I knew by the look on his face that something wasn't right. 1/3 of the right side of the cake has orange flowers with some kind of blue vines. NOTHING AT ALL LIKE I ORDERED. I even called back the day after I ordered this cake to make sure the baker knew my instructions. Not sure I'll go back for special orders any more. If I would, I would have to take a picture so their understanding of over the top decorating is in line with mine. I'm embarrassed now to present this cake at a 96 year old birthday party. It's just a normal plain cake with about 12 little flowers in the right side. No yellow flowers. No pink flowers. Blue vines?? Maybe this is their quality and I'm used to something else. But communication was definitely off on this order.

Based on Thompson Street next to the beautifully restored Italianate home of 512. I wanted to support him by buying something during the festival so I opted for a salted caramel ice cream in a cup. They sell Korber's ice cream but I don't think they turn it over fast enough to prevent freezer burn. Every ice cream I've tried here has had ice crystals in it. And so did this one . I think the coffee side of the business is more robust than the ice cream side. I'll keep trying because I want to support the local entrepreneurs like Mike. I hope he finds a way to keep that ice cream fresher.
