I'm regularly in this area for dog agility competitions, often in the middle of summer. I thought I'd try to find somewhere to get a legendary Latrobe banana split, as this is where they were created. But when I looked up ice cream places in the area on Yelp, I saw a picture of a wildly large cone from here and this had to be the place. It turns out it was only a mile or two from where I was, and I can't believe I haven't found it sooner! I pulled in promptly when they were opening at 11:30 and the server was helpful and fast. I asked if that enormous cone was a size large and she said yes, so I ordered that in the rotating twist flavors of coconut and blueberry and also got a baby cup of vanilla soft serve for my dog, which for a baby cup was enormous. Together they were under $5. So fair! We went to sit in a nice covered patio area. There's a lot of outdoor seating space! While we were sitting, the place started to get busy with people coming for lunch as well as ice cream. They were ordering things like burgers and quesadillas from what looked like nice grill menu. At the prices here, I'm not surprised that I saw a couple of large families come to eat. I mentioned this to a friend who lives in the area and she never realized they have food. Maybe they don't publicize that on their socials enough and they should, everything very good. My ice cream was creamy and delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. If inexpensive ice cream options are what you desire, I think this is your place. The line is long and slow, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. We waited about 30 minutes. Service was friendly. The ice cream was okay, but the portion sizes are quite large for the price. I had the flavor of the week - banana and peanut butter (twist). The flavor is not overpowering - I found myself wondering what the flavor was. And the ice cream is more ice than cream to me - I prefer creamy. My daughter had the hand scooped cotton candy - they have plenty of options for both. The stackers and premium shakes looked phenomenal, but they are huge. We were not hungry enough to take that on. There were plenty of outdoor seats with shade available as well. They also have sundaes and artic blasts (blizzards). I'd prefer to pay a little extra and get custard from a place close by, but this is clearly a popular place for many. read more

This isn't your typical local ice cream shop, the premium shakes are both aesthetically pleasing and delicious, those deserve a cult following on their own. If that is not enough to get you here, their hot food is pretty good too, definitely well above the "pool concession stand" food you normally get at your local ice cream shop. We ordered hot dogs and they were definitely higher grade meat and they toasted the buns! The staff was very friendly and helpful when ordering. This is my second stop, the first one they unfortunately were closed, so I'd say if you are traveling far to call ahead to ensure they are open. Note: hot food kitchen clothes at 630 currently. this place is absolutely horrible it use to be a great place not anymore i gave it another shot tonight the cone they handed out to us after we stood there and waited was horrible not to mention it was supposs to be chocolate but it tasted like vanilla i couldn't even walk to the truck with it because it was falling over as they handed it out the window so it went it the trash can and i ate the can read more

The cones are huge, fresh and very good tasting. The cone in the pic was around 1.50 so the prices are insanely cheap and better than any place in Latrobe or Derry. They serve hot food too and for what I tried, everything is good. read more
