Because of other yelpers, I bit the bullet and decided to take the chance at getting my haircut here. I was ready for a big chop, and honestly didn't want to wait long for an appointment. My hair was getting really irritating lol. I'm pregnant, it's hot, & the long thick hair just wasn't making any sense to keep. I called the salon and Indah answered the phone, I was able to set an appointment with her for the following afternoon. They do have safety precautions put in place before arriving to the salon, they ask the usual questions. If you're feeling sick or if you've traveled & they also take your temp & a little hand sanitizer drops out of their fancy machine. Indah is the sweetest and made me feel so comfortable being there. She really took her time to cut my hair, at every step asked me what was okay and went over what we would do. Of course we also had casual chit chat as the hair cut went by, I didn't even realize I was in her chair for almost an hour! She just wanted to make sure that my hair was perfect & It honestly was. I called last minute and Joann (joanne?) fit me in the next day. Both times she has cut my hair and is the only one I have found that doesn't chop it all off. My hair grows super slow and I'm always nervous about someone cutting it. Joanne knows what she is doing. My hair is long and I need to stand up for her to trim it. She always gives me a mirror and makes sure the amount that she is going to takeoff is OK with me. She's very sweet and takes her time. Thanks to Yelp! I found this place while on travel. I called for a same day appointment and they were nice enough to squeeze me in for an eyebrow waxing and two haircuts for my boys. The ladies greeted me as soon as I walked in and taken cared of right away. The esthetician asked me questions about how I wanted my brows done and even showed me her work after the first brow. She took her time and was very clean. No left over wax on my face nor clothes (+1 star). I was really satisfied with her work and my brows got the island treatment. My bill came out to $26 for eyebrows and upper lip wax. I hate to say it but I think I've found my new hair stylist and she's a lot closer to my house and about $5 cheaper than my original hair stylist .... and the best part I LOVE MY HAIR !!!! Michelle was running about 15 min late and I guess she knew that I was little upset ... she was professional and suggested if it was ok to see the other hair stylist and I refused ... I just waited 5 min. And she took me in. The shampoo part was so relaxing. She massage my scalp and a little of my neck area. I've never had that done to me ever. I have been wanting to get my hair done for a while but after a year of covid lockdown my husband, however, managed to secure me an appointment as a surprise for me, on Saturday, 2/20/2021, at Simply Nice Salon at 1PM. My husband had told me that he had scheduled a full service for my hair - this means shampoo, cut, color and style. It was the day of and I get dropped off 10 mins early and I walk in and I was greeted by a lady who was also my assigned stylist. She asked if I had an appointment and what name was it under. I gave her my name and she asked again what services are you booked for, I answered hair cut, color, and shampoo, she interrupted that I was only scheduled for a cut. I quickly called my husband who confirmed that he had set up a full service appointment. I agreed to an only hair cut. It was almost to the end of the cut the stylist, however, stated that she had some time to shampoo my hair as well, and I said oh ok, that will be awesome! I smiled happily and made my way to the sink. I had instructed the stylist that I had wanted my hair length to just be below the shoulders and she said ok. The cut begins and the stylist starts engaging me in politics and different cultures. The dialogue was very uncomfortable but at the same I did not want to be rude. During the cut, i was turned away from the mirror the whole time...and I did not see any of the hair cut. The stylist, after cutting my hair, offered to straight iron my hair because she had time. Again, I said ok that is so nice of you. After the straight iron, I paid and tipped the stylist $20 for her time and I left. Just for your information, I have never gone to places like this to get my hair done. I usually go to salons at the mall at Pearlridge or Ka makana after reading reviews. It's funny how I searched for reviews for this place and it has good reviews and people seem to like their eyebrow waxing. We had family day out that day and I did not pay much attention to my hair as I trusted the stylist and the salon that provided the service. However, when we got home that day and I proceeded to put my hair up, I realized that I could barely make a pony. My hair was too short. Some hair were shorter than others and it was a TERRIBLE JOB! This led me to think why I all of a sudden was offered shampoo and straight iron when I was first told that a hair cut was the only service I was going to get. I waited two weeks to allow my hair to regrow and I scheduled a full service for my hair at Hoala at Kama Kana Ali'i. I go to the appointment and the woman who helped me was very professional and asked me how I want my hair to be done, I showed her a picture and she said I can make that happen. Before we started with all that, the first question the stylist there asked me was who did my hair cut. I began to tell her the story of Simply Nice Salon and the stylist called her coworkers over and they all confirmed that the stylist at Simply Nice Salon did a number on my hair. They could not believe how uneven the cut was. They asked if I want it a A cut style? Im like, umm I don't know what that is but I specifically told her shoulder length cut....the hair stylist said wow! That is a A cut not shoulder length cut and continues on saying how disproportionate some parts were to others and the worst of is, some hairs were cut almost to my skull. *angry angry angry...i could have gone back that day and things would've gotten out of hand. They were closed early and the next day comes around, my mom advice that my hair is going to grow back and it's also the Holy week, so forgive her anyway. She was lucky I would have called her out at that salon place and would talk to the manager about her. God help me to have some peace of mind. Based on the great reviews on Yelp, I've decided to take a long hike to get my hair fixed after 3.5 months of COVID neglect. Michelle took a quick glance on the style pic I brought in and cut my hair perfectly. For the touch up and toning of my faded highlights with lots of gray, I didn't even have to say a word. The final product was just wonderful. For someone who's been to a beaty school salon past 15 years this was a real treat!! With $35 for cut, $95 touch up/toning and shampoo (no styling at this time due to COVID caution), Michelle's service made my visit so worthwhile. Movies while you wait after color application, a massage chair, and Michelle's heavenly head/neck massage was a bomb, making you feel coming back. It's small and cozy but parking is great, which is always a plus for me. Inda cut my mom and I's hair. What I liked about her was she really took her time and doesn't cut more than what you want, rather ask you if you want it a little bit more shorter or not. That's a big plus because she makes you feel comfortable enough to say how you feel about your haircut and don't have to lie and say it's fine even do you know it's not what you really wanted. I was looking for someone and a new place to get my hair done with color and cut since the girl that used to do it for me moved and since she moved she couldn't fit me in her busy schedule. One of my closest friend recommended this place and she also recommended a lady named Inda. I called Simoly Nice Salon and asked for Inda. She was the one that answered the phone and she even had an opening the same day which I was very happy. So I went and see her and I was so glad and happy I did. She gave my hair new look and lots of love. Since being sick and diagnosed with Stage 3 kidney and autoimmune diseases, my round face grew fat and fatter each day. Inda gave me a haircut that fits with my round face. And I love the color she gave me too. She took her time and never once rush doing my hair. I definitely highly recommend this place. I thought I was kinna weird that they don't blow dry your hair so I left with my hair still wet. When my hair dried I seen that not all the lighted hair was covered. They was able to tone down the ombre color to a non bleach look and was able to blend my top half into my the bottom half! I am one happy girl!!! I unfortunately can't remember my stylists name but she was absolutely amazing. I went in very anxious. I had very very long hair and had become very attached to it. She was so kind and patient and tried so hard to give me the style I was after while trying to keep the length I so desperately wanted to save. The hair stylist was professional and very nice. The issue I had was with the supervisor/owner. I paid adult price of $35 for my 12 year olds hair which was fine because she had medium length hair I didn't argue about it. Their prices are clearly listed in their shop as $15 for child hair cut. My youngest daughter was only 6 years old and had already super short hair, the salon was trying to charge me $33 for a trim of her hair saying that because of COVID their prices changed. I disagreed and the owner was so rude continuing to say where do you see the prices, (it was on the wall) she then proceeded to say no that's for boys and men but mens prices were listed as well for $18 and it CLEARLY stated CHILDRENS hair cut $15. She was trying to charge whatever she wanted after the haircut and tried to justify price gouging just because of COVID. I will not pay $33 for a little trim of my child's already super short hair especially if you already have set prices listed. Don't price gouge your customers! read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I don't even know where to begin. I went In for a cut and color at 9am on Saturday I did not leave the salon till 3:45 PM. Michelle RUINED my hair. I went in a super light brown with blonde sun spots and asked for a blonde red highlight/ombré balayage... instead I received dark BROWN hair with WHITE HIGHLIGHTS!!! She left the bleach in my hair for 4 HOURS. My hair is so damaged. When she said she was done with my hair I was shocked I pulled up the picture and she said " yeah that's what you asked for is it not red enough? I could add more toner" NO THIS IS NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR. Either she I color blind or has ZERO IDEA on what she was doing. And I asked multiple times if she knew how to do what I wanted. Then they had the audacity to CHARGE ME 100$ for "ALL THE PRODUCT THEY USED ON MY HAIR" they wouldn't let me leave till I paid. They should have to PAY TO FIX MY HAIR! I can't do anything with it until the bleach damage is either cut or I give my hair some time. So I'm stuck like this. It RUINED MY whole weekend.. read more
