I've been coming here for a while. Hermione does my hair and she does a great job each time. I can get particular with how I want it to look but she always manages to get it just the way I like it, very quickly and efficiently, which is how I like it. I hope this business expands, it would be nice if they had a day spa too. read more

Upscale salon in central O'ahu, Muse is a great option for folks in the area that don't want to drive into town to get their hair done. Super easy to book online and their reservation system does great communications sending out reminders leading up to your appointment. The Salon is located in the Waikele Shopping center nearby the genki sushi and the old party city with tons of parking available. I got a designer cut with Nicole ($170). While it's a bit on the pricier side for a haircut, I'm really glad that I came here and saw Nicole. She really took the time to work with me on the best haircut that would suit me from layers, to face framing, and cutting off all my dead ends. Nicole even took the time to walk me through how to style it at home. The designer cut also came with a hair treatment that left my hair feeling amazing. Nicole also talked me through all the products she was using in my hair, without being too pushy selling it at all. read more

I have been searching for a new hairdresser for awhile now. I actually used the Yelp Project feature and got linked with Muse. I have naturally curly hair and a stylist who is comfortable cutting and styling curly hair is hard to find. When I entered, i was warmly greeted. Nicole V. is amazing! She really went above and beyond, first looking at my hair and having a conversation with me of what I am looking for. She then recommended the Kerastase Fusio Dose and the Kerstase Masque in addition to my style and cut. What i loved is that she explained each step as she was doing it and showed me how to take care of my hair after I leave the Salon. She is also a pleasure to talk story with. I will be coming back regularly. I highly recommend! read more

Exceptional! From the moment I called Muse to make an appt, to falling asleep in their soft recliner chairs for shampoo & conditioner, to when I left with gorgeous soft hair, I was impressed. I followed Michael to Muse, when Paul Brown Salon closed in Kakaako. I live in Hawaii Kai and with a 10am appt, the relaxing drive was great, only 32 minutes, driving mellow. Muse is spacious, modern & calming atmosphere with my fav hair products, Kerastase. Plenty of parking, easy off & on freeway access. Thank you Michael, for choosing the Perfect Place!!! See you next month read more

Nicole did a cut exactly how I wanted it , with the treatment for my hair .. it looks so good and healthy she very knowledgeable and great customer service will be back read more

Such an amazing experience! I am someone who is so scared of going to the salon for a haircut because nobody I've ever gone to has ever gotten it right. Nicole was the absolute best!!! She gave me the BEST haircut I've ever gotten in my life, and im so so soooo thankful to her. My hair feels amazing and looks amazing! Nicole was so knowledgeable and told me what I should be doing/using to help retain moisture in my dry hair, which has been one of my biggest insecurities. The vibe was so relaxing with almost a luxurious feel but she was so friendly and kind I really couldn't have asked for a better experience! You definitely get what you pay for, and I'm happy to say I definitely will be returning in the future!! read more

I had the BEST experience with hermione (I hope I'm spelling that right--like Hermione from Harry Potter ). From the moment I sat in her chair, she was so kind, welcoming, and really took the time to understand exactly what I wanted. She truly understood the assignment and brought my vision to life even better than I imagined. Not only did she do an amazing job on my hair, but she also made me feel young, confident, and beautiful again which is honestly priceless. On top of that, she was super considerate about pricing and made sure the whole process felt comfortable and stress-free. If you're looking for someone talented, patient, and genuinely caring, she's your girl. I'll definitely be coming back! see you in May!! read more

I booked an appointment via Yelp and Muse responded very promptly, helping me set up a visit for both myself and my daughter. We were warmly greeted by Nicole, who did my hair, and another stylist who took great care of my daughter. Nicole was incredibly sweet and friendly, we ended up just talking stories the whole time. I mentioned it had been a while since I last cut my hair, and she offered thoughtful feedback on what haircut and style would suit my facial features best. From start to finish, her customer service was on point. She made sure the water temperature was comfortable during the shampoo, reclined the chair so I could relax, and clearly walked me through what she planned to do with my hair. The entire experience from the relaxing shampoo to the precise cut was perfect. My hair feels so much healthier and lighter now. I'll definitely be coming back again. Plus, the pricing was very reasonable! read more

Emajen is the best! Very thorough, friendly, professional and attentive to her clients needs. You can tell she has a passion for what she does because it shows in her work. She always services with a smile and accommodates you to the best of her abilities. My family and I appreciate her very much. Location is super convenient to those who live on the west side and there's ample parking. Keep striving Emajen!! read more

Since it's in a great location, was assisted and accommodated promptly (as a walk-in), and for the salon's minimalist aesthetic, professional hairstylist, I'd give it five stars! But the quality of my "tailored" haircut I paid for was mid and pricey. read more

This is the customer service I received after I requested a full refund after seeing the results from my first wash. It's incredibly unfair to have charged me such a high amount when my hair was virgin up to my shoulders . I shouldn't have to endure another stylist after they admitted to the bad dye job and took full responsibility, yet offered no full compensation. I'm deeply disappointed that this happened just before the holiday, leaving me with a bad dye job. Here is the "customer service" reply Hi Jazmin, I am following up as I understand you have also been calling the salon to reach myself and Brandy. Please be advised that we are both now out of the office for the holidays and will not return until the New Year. Regarding your request, our position remains unchanged. We took full accountability for your experience by offering a professional correction to address your color goals and your hair's existing permanent color. We sincerely wish we could have resolved this with you privately before a public review was posted, as we always prefer to work directly with our guests. However, since you chose to decline our offer for a professional correction and stated you would be going elsewhere, we issued a partial refund as a rare exception to our 'No Refund' policy. Between the five hours of professional labor, the materials used, the partial refund already issued, and the loss of trust following the public review, we have reached the limit of what we can offer. Our staff is not authorized to negotiate this further, and we consider this matter closed. We will not be engaging in further correspondence and wish you the best. read more

I was a little hesitant to to give this place a try mostly because of other reviews talking about the price, and becuase we really dont trust people with our hair and have had some horrible experiences that ended in tears. One of the determining factors was the immediate responses I was getting when reaching out on Yelp, which were very polite in tone and gave me the feeling that they wanted to take care of us Both my daughters and myself have really long hair, so we always expect to be charged more. My oldest just had a baby and wanted something easier to manage since her hair was to her knees. Shanelle really took care of her and made her feel like a brand new person. Maya took extra care of my other daughter and myself. The vibe is very friendly, all staff were really polite and engaged with all guests, including the ones the were not working on. I observed everyone walking out with a smile as I waited for my appt to start. The price is a little high but I have been to other places who charge more. Also, if hesitant to try Muse or another pricey salon consider this, supercuts now (when we went last year) charges everything Ala carte (shampoo and blow out are no longer including in the price). My bill at Muse was about the same as I paid at supercuts. Keep in mind you get what you pay for, salons like Muse (at least the experience we got) really provide that personal experience and care and do not just treat you like the next number on their list, granted not all supercuts or other franchises are the same but we have mostly had similar experiences. read more

Muse is a modern and minimalist decor-style salon with kind stylist. I have gotten 2 services from 2 stylist, bot appointments left me dissatisfied and regretful. Both services were above average in cost without meeting an average standard in my opinion. In particular, I spent $500 on a hair straining service with poor results. My hair is naturally on the "straighter" side but tend to have frizzy baby hairs and some waves. Hence I get my hair treated to allow for wash & go. At Muse, I experienced a single process treatment and after 3 weeks, my hair is back to its original shape. Very disappointed. In comparison, I had gone to another salon for years and it was always a 2 process treatment that left me with results that lasted nearly a year! Unfortunately I had moved so I lost the convenience. read more

Followed my girl, Carille here. Loving this new spot. This place is clean and very open. The energy in here is so awesome, love hearing women hyping each other up! Carille is amazing. She's so personable and funny. Most importantly, she delivers hair that makes me feel refreshed and confident! I love my hair and feel so blah when it looks blah, LOL. I know I'm not the only one. Located next to Kunios and party city, it's very easy to find. The hardest part about this can be the parking, and it's not that hard to find, LOL. Happy hair time is needed self care :) read more

I discovered this salon through Yelp while searching for a place to take my daughter for her first-ever hair coloring service. With such high ratings, I felt confident that we would have a great experience. Unfortunately, our visit did not live up to the reviews, and I am giving 1 star for the reasons below. My daughter has never colored her hair before she has long, virgin hair that falls below her waist, naturally medium brown with red and blonde tones. She wanted soft layers and highlights, and we even brought a reference photo to ensure clarity. I also specifically requested that no more than a couple of inches be trimmed. To the stylist's credit, the haircut itself was exactly what we asked for. However, the coloring process took six hours, and the results were very disappointing. Despite only receiving front partial highlights, my daughter's hair looked almost unchanged--certainly nothing close to the photo we provided. The outcome did not reflect the time spent or the extremely high price of $570. I considered returning to ask for a correction, but the experience left me so frustrated that I do not feel comfortable going back. While my daughter tried to stay positive and said she liked it, I was honestly disappointed every time I looked at her hair. Based on this experience, I will not be returning to this salon, and I will be more cautious relying solely on Yelp reviews in the future. read more

It was easy to make an appointment because the young lady that answered the phone was pleasant & welcoming. The hairstylist, Ariana Cabato was also pleasant & welcoming & very patient. I was so happy with my haircut & style plus she was informative about caring for my hair & treated my hair & scalp with such care, it was a wonderful experience. The shop impressed me also. It was clean roomy & bright. The stylists seem to help each other, one of them swept the hairs that was around my chair for Ariana. That impressed me also. Just wished the price wasn't so expensive but I guess everywhere & everything has increased. I commend Ariana, she seems to be truly dedicated to her work & does an excellent job ! I rate my experience 5 Stars! read more

Had my first experience here with Hermione and would totally recommend! She was super easy to talk to and made it very relaxing. My cut came with a shampoo, mini scalp massage, and blow dry. The experience was very relaxing. I rated it one less star than a 5 due to scheduling experience. But it all worked out and was able to get fitted in later in the day. read more

Quick and easy booking with the right stylist for the job. I said we needed a rock and roll haircut cut for my 10 year old daughter and Maiya delivered! The stylist and makeup artist did a beautiful job on my daughter! She looked absolutely stunning for her senior prom.

Shanelle is amazing!!! So kind and understanding, she will work with whatever vision you have and make it happen! :)

One positive, the hairdresser was meticulous. I went in for partial highlights for upper half of my hair. Cost was way too high for my taste. $380 and it took over 4 hours. Feel like time and money was wasted to be honest. Hair looked okay. read more

Loved this place ! & love my haircut. The girl that took care of me was so sweet, will definitely come back again

Maiya is my stylist - she does amazing cuts, hair treatments for dry scalp, and blow out styles she has been taking me through the process of growing out my pixie to something now close to a euro long bob - she has a plan and keeps me from whacking it off. She's meticulous and precise. read more

Where my curly girlies at?!? I HAVE FOUND OUR SPOT AND STYLIST GIRLS!!! I recently went to MUSE for a cut on 10/28. I love this location, very clean and super conveniently located in Waikele. My girl, Darlla, did a FANTASTIC job on my curls!! She took my vision and BROUGHT IT TO LIFE!!! (wait till you see the pictures!) Darlla patiently worked on my hair for hours and did a BEAUTIFUL job, I had not seen my curls like that in years. But on top of it all the price could not be beat ESPECIALLY for a curly cut. It's always so hard to find good people who can work on curly hair and I'm so grateful to have found Darlla. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH GIRL!! read more

I have definitely found my new stylist! If you're looking for someone sweet, professional, and takes great care in her work, Darlla is the person to seek! Darlla greeted me as soon as I entered the salon, listened intently as to what I was looking for, and used her expertise to make suggestions for my new cut. She gave me great tips on how to care for and style my wavy hair, and even painstakingly coiled each ringlet/curl by hand to show me the potential of my curls! For all my Oahu military wives who are looking for their new hair girl, Phoebe is who you should see! I don't get my hair done often but needed it done for my wedding and came to her after being unsatisfied at another place I had been last year. I went in for a balayage and she was incredible. She really took her time and her attention to detail is amazing. I had never had a true balayage before (my hair was never long enough) and while I absolutely loved it, realized it was more blonde than I had planned to be for my wedding. I explained this to Phoebe and she knew exactly what I was wanting to change and how to do it. I went back in a week later and she redid my hair for free. It turned out perfectly. I had my hair styled for my rehearsal dinner and then my wedding and both girls told me how good my highlights looked. I couldn't thank Phoebe enough. Her knowledge and execution were incredible as well as her customer service! read more

Haircuts have always made me so nervous! ... But those worries faded away as soon as I met Darlla. From the moment I walked into the salon, she was so sweet and inviting. I went into my appointment with an unclear vision of how I wanted my hair to be, but Darlla delivered! She offered great suggestions, and most importantly, she was so patient with me and never made me feel self conscious. I felt like she truly cared about how I felt as she took the time to explain what would work best for my face shape, hair type, and style. Other than her great haircutting skills, she's a great conversationalist! Talking with her felt like I was catching up with an old long time friend. I can't wait for my next appointment with her and I'm so so glad that my friend recommended her to me. Thank you so much, Darlla. I appreciate you! read more
