Pedicure in Waipahu, O'ahu, Hawaii... Located in Westgate Center... in the same strip mall as Thelma's Filipino Restaurant... are two nail salons. Twinkle Nails & Spa is the newer salon. It's towards the end of the building. I looked at the first salon... it's older and had a lot of guys in there... because it has barber shop services, too. Hmmm... The young gal at Twinkle Nails & Spa was in the middle of an eyelash extension appointment. She said that no one was here to do pedicures and referred me to the older shop at the beginning of the building. I told her that I didn't feel comfortable there. She offered to call someone over from that shop to work here! Yes, please! Twinkle Nails & Spa seems like it has been renovated. It's bright, clean, and modern. It was a very enjoyable, peaceful experience! Thank you so much for letting me use your restroom, move my car closer, and lending me a towel since I got caught in the downpour! I really appreciate your calling another worker over to your shop to assist me! read more

Walk-in is welcome. Decent equipments/supplies. Nail quality 4/5. 2/5 service requested, bc the tech did not do manicure as requested. Nail tech did her own thing. She went ahead and started on my nail overlay. Didn't tried to stop her in her progress bc I figured she has her routine. She filed my nails super rough. My nails felt the vigorous filing. Tried to tell her i wanted almond shape but did french nails instead. However, she did a beautiful job with my overlay nail. Maybe Ill return for second with an appointment booked. Overall 3/5. read more

Called to make an appt the day of & was able to take me in after I finished work by 4pm on weekday. They're located in Waipahu at the Westgate Plaza. They're welcoming and have a clean salon. Twinkle was finishing up her previous customer, only waited about 5 min but she had me seated at her desk already. She asks you what you want and she's detailed. I got the powder gel manicure & pedi. After paying, she will ring you up to pay and give you a stamp card. Will most likely come back sometime later to have her do my nails again/try something different. read more

So I called the day of for my daughters appt to see if they have openings and got an appt for 2:15pm. Got there and told them I wanted acrylic manicure for her. Told them I'll be back since I have my baby with me I'll just sit in the car and wait. 45 min later my daughter called me and she's done. Coming from her review, she loves her nails. So that's a plus also since it's close by to our house . It was her first time here and I haven't gotten a service here yet for myself. Maybe one day I will try and do my nails here . read more

This was an amazing experience! The staff are kind and honestly amazing. The pedicure was amazing ( I hate my toes so I'm definitely not showing them here), it lasted forever and they put in some major work on my crusty toes. I have ALWAYS wanted to get my nails done like this and they are so much better than I ever imagined! I'll update on how long they last! For now I'm so beyond happy. My new favorite nail place and great prices. My total was $95 for toes and my beautiful nails! read more

Twinkle Nails & Spa - Single-handedly my favorite nails ever! - Nail Salons Near Me - Waipahu, Hawaii

This will be my new go-to location for acrylics! I'd want to start by saying that the environment of this nail salon appears to be more well-presented than that of other spas I've visited. In addition, the salon is rather spacious, so you won't have to push your way past others to get to your massage chair or the waxing room. The workers were also quite friendly. They were courteous about me waiting in their lobby when they finished my services before my mother finished her errands! Now for the main attraction, my manicure and pedicure services. In the past, when I've gone to other nail salons, I've been dissatisfied with my nails because of a poor paint job, an irregular nail form, or an uneven nail length. But I didn't experience any of that at Twinkle's! This is the first time I've been satisfied with my nails. Furthermore, they did my nails in less than an hour and they looked great! On the contrary, I believe my pedicure might be improved, as there were certain areas where paint was not properly removed or my toenail was not properly shaped. But it was nothing I couldn't fix at home! Overall, the services provided (pedi and mani) were excellent for the price I paid for ($115 after tax)!! read more

I was looking for a salon all morning. i went to a shop in Kalihi but all their nail experts were busy with customers waiting in line. i walked in and it looked like at least an hour wait. I called Twinkles and they said to come in 15 minutes. i told them i was coming from Kalihi so it was perfect. When i got there, i waited a few more minutes and i walked out with beautiful French manicured nails!! The staff was also friendly and courteous. im going back to get my nails filled. read more

Called and made an appointment with Twinkle based on the photos I've seen on yelp. I usually don't pamper myself or have nails with my kids running circles around me all day but thought I'd pamper myself for Valentines Day. Shop is located in the West Gate Shopping Center right next to Thelma's Filipino Food. I signed in and Twinkle came right up a few minutes later. She took me in right on time. She kept it simple and didn't engage in too much small talk. I showed her the pics I liked and mentioned not too fancy. And flowers. I need flowers for myself since no one else gets me flowers. Lol. She gave me roses and created beautiful designs I was happy with. I also pampered myself with a pedicure and her foot massage was outstanding. Other than parking being too packed at times, and sometimes problematic... I'd definitely come back. read more

Tamra is who you have to go to. Specially if you want nice nail art done. She does my nails very well and it lasts long of course I get gel fills. This is a small nail shop so it's better to make an appointment. Because you may have to wait if there's someone before you. There's only about two nail lady's and all of them also do pedicures. Tamra's husband does pedicures as well. If you want nice nails I suggest you go to Tamra. I have been going for her for years and then she moved nail places and I found another nail tech that was really good and then she just moved. I found Tamra again and I couldn't be happier. Are used to go to Trina's nails in Aiea to Tiffany who was to me the best one there but she went on to become a monk in Vietnam. So if he used to go to Tiffany's and I liked her style you will love Tamra. read more

i would not recommend ANYONE to get waxed here ever. My sister went to go get her eyebrows waxed and the next morning she woke up & there are burn marks or these weird cuts around her eye area. My sister said the way the lady ripped off the wax wasn't the right way, she didnt tug the skin back a bit before ripping it off which we think caused these scars/cuts. She couldn't wash her face or do anyting without it burning. We called them to tell them what happened just to receive attitude. Seriously angry at what happened & will be coming there personally to talk this out. read more

First off, I want everyone to keep in mind that this is a family owned business. Meaning that they might not have too many workers but they work very hard to get to you as soon as possible while keeping their customers satisfied. Me and my boyfriend both got pedicures and i aslo got an acrylic full set. My boyfriend loved his pedicure so much, he was feeling his feet for a whole 10 minutes because he couldnt get over how soft they were. Daniel did my pedicure and it felt great! I truly appreciate that he made sure I was okay the whole time, thank you Daniel! Twinkle did my full set and ill be honest, i had my doubts but it turned out great! read more

Since the pandemic, this was the first time I had my gel manicure done. The review was good, so I've tried. I was sooooo disappointed. She didn't removed cuticle fully, never asked if I like to cut nail or what shape I would like to have. Two of gel manicure came off in 5 days after I had the service. So disappointed. read more

Took my mom for a pedi and and I got me a full setof resin. I've been seeing Twinkle for over five years now. I am impressed that she is still up and running during this pandemic. The salon is clean and medium sized. They proved an array of services. I usually do a pedicure and resin nails. The prices are average. The service is where you get your monies worth. I have ingrown toenails. Twinkle and he husband are the only two i trust so far to take care if my feet. The pedicures are to die for. On this particular visit I had a broken ankle and was still able to do a pedicure and it felt great. They took care not to be rough and gave the full treatment. There's free parking out front, as it's located in a strip mall. Same one as Leeward Drive Inn in Waipahu. They do walk-in or appointments. Temperatures are taken at the door. The staff are all wearing masks and sanitizer is on the front desk for anyone to use. They have one unisex restroom. On this visit the television was set on a foodie YouTube Chanel that was family friendly. The tone before it was set on tela novela. If you want quality service this is your spot. Twinkle has an unbelievable ability the craft the most beautiful hand painted art. She has such steady hands. I've attached a couple of photos of her work. read more

This nail salon is located in Waipahu's Westgate Center, right next to Thelma's. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but inside is clean, spacious and bright. Made an appointment for me and josh for a same-day pedicure. The lady said we would be able to get our pedi's at the same time no issue. Unfortunately when we got there, there was only 2 people working and I had to wait about 30mins before getting my pedicure started so josh had to wait a while. The pedicure was great, my feet felt like a million bucks after everything was done. They actually massage your feet here, and not just a quick rub either which was a plus! You can tell they really care about their work. The massage chair was good, but me and josh had some back pains afterwards and I found myself stopping the chair a few times. It got a bit uncomfortable after a while. When we were checking out, I didn't know josh paid $150 for our pedicures. It was supposed to be $60 each. Later found out that the use of the lavender foot rub was extra $$.. would've been good to know before getting it. Over this place was great for a pedicure, but I'd double check the prices before asking for upgrades. It's been 2 weeks and my toe nails are still painted, no chips, and feeling smooth read more

First spa visit since COVID 19 pandemic. Called ahead of going to check for health and safety guidelines. Twinkle is now appointment only. You are able to book same-day appointments. No waiting area. So I assume no additional guest. Mask on, Sanitize your hands, Temperature checked upon entry, and covid survey before service. My pedicure felt like a gift for the foot God. Much needed pampering since the world's shutdown. 4:4 tech: client ratio with shields, masks, and social distancing between stations. Thank you for treating me today. 30 minutes of pampering.. read more

When I joke "is it free" to color my nail when she offered when I only came there for a manicure and no to color my nails, Twinkle was rude that she even raise her voice "don't you think if our service is free this business is still running" although she offered me to color my nails in the end but she was talking with her co-worker in Vietnamese and all of them staring at me. As if their waiting for me to leave the salon as I'm waiting for my nails to dry. When I leave a tip their faces suddenly smiled and thank you! Would never go there again! read more

I've been going to this nail salon to get my monthly gel pedicure for over a year now and my experience yesterday was simply horrible. Each time I've went in, the owner and her husband would be present and I'd always leave satisfied with their service. This time around, there were 2 young ladies that I've never seen before. I was immediately greeted by one of them as soon as I stepped into the salon and was sat down at one of the pedicure chairs. Soon after, a young lady came over to my chair and began prepping for my pedicure. She did not greet me but asked if I was getting a solid color or glitter top for my toes. The first red flag that happened was she began to PEEL OFF my old gel polish with a CUTICLE REMOVER TOOL. She "successfully" removed the polish off the 4th toenail on my right foot. I did not say anything because I felt no pain but I did feel pressure. After she "peeled" off the old gel polish for my right pinky toe, I looked down and noticed that it had NO NAIL. I was in disbelief because I came in WITH nails on ALL my toes. I could tell she knew she did something wrong because she kept looking down at what she peeled off and was touching my pinky toe!! After that she began to file off the polish for the rest of my toes. Second red flag is she made me bleed while removing the dead skin/cuticle off one of my toes. Of all the times I've gotten a pedicure, not once have I bled. She cut so much of my skin off that it bled persistently. Even after I left the salon it continued to bleed. 3rd of all, she did not use a sugar scrub which is something I'd always get during my pedicures there at Twinkle Nails. Lastly, she did not even bother to properly clean up the polish around my toes with nail polish remover and a brush. She used her nail to remove the excess polish, which is okay because I've seen other people do that, but she did not bother to make sure they were cleaned up neatly afterwards. I didn't want to say anything else because I didn't want her to ruin my pedicure even more. I simply paid and left. No tip at all for that young lady. Still in disbelief that she ripped off my toe nail. read more

I came here for nail removal. Instead of having the correct tools for removal, they were improvising with a fake acrylic nail to scrap off my old acrylic nails. The owner allowed this and forcefully attempted to pull of my acrylic. They were not preserving the integrity of my nails. Instead they were trying to pry them off at all means. There were scratches on my natural nail and not all the acrylic came off. Not very professional and I am very disappointed in the service here. Not coming back. I went to their salon for a basic gel mani. The gal who did my nails, although very nice, did not know what she was doing. I believe she was actually a hair stylist and not a nail tech. She did the worst job on my nails I have ever had. I had gel on my fingers, on my cuticles and she cut me three times and the gel was a lumpy mess. Another guy stepped in to remove the gel and he destroyed my nail beds with the drill. At this point I had been there 1.5 HOURS and was out of time. I asked him to just do the mani with a simple clear coat. He didn't even buff my damaged nail beds! And after all this, they tried to charge me for a mani. I was so mad. I left there with my nails in way worse condition then when I went in! I wasted 1.5 hours of my life and my Boba completely melted and I didn't get to drink it. I was very upset. They ended up not charging me. See the photos for the mani they tried to charge me for. read more

This was my first time at a nail salon since the pandemic and the first time since the owner switched to Twinkle. I really love my full set! Twinkle was very fast and efficient and my nails came out great. It's very steady with clients and there is only a few workers available. As far as the hair stylist working in the salon, she doesn't seem like she wants business. It seems to me like she decides who she wants to help and racial profiles clients. Twinkle had asked her to wax my eyebrows really quickly and she looked at the clock and said oh I have another client coming soon (nobody came while I was waiting). Twinkle asked her if she could do it now and she said oh but I have to wash my client's hair. I ended up waiting about 45mins till Twinkle was free and could wax my brows (literally only took like 5 mins). I also did not appreciate the backhanded comments about the length of my hair from the hairstylist... kinda looks bad for business. read more
