The young gal at Twinkle Nails & Spa was in the middle of an eyelash extension appointment. She said that no one was here to do pedicures and referred me to the older shop at the beginning of the building. I told her that I didn't feel comfortable there. This will be my new go-to location for acrylics! I'd want to start by saying that the environment of this nail salon appears to be more well-presented than that of other spas I've visited. In addition, the salon is rather spacious, so you won't have to push your way past others to get to your massage chair or the waxing room. The workers were also quite friendly. They were courteous about me waiting in their lobby when they finished my services before my mother finished her errands! Now for the main attraction, my manicure and pedicure services. In the past, when I've gone to other nail salons, I've been dissatisfied with my nails because of a poor paint job, an irregular nail form, or an uneven nail length. But I didn't experience any of that at Twinkle's! This is the first time I've been satisfied with my nails. Furthermore, they did my nails in less than an hour and they looked great! On the contrary, I believe my pedicure might be improved, as there were certain areas where paint was not properly removed or my toenail was not properly shaped. So I called the day of for my daughters appt to see if they have openings and got an appt for 2:15pm. Got there and told them I wanted acrylic manicure for her. Told them I'll be back since I have my baby with me I'll just sit in the car and wait. 45 min later my daughter called me and she's done. Coming from her review, she loves her nails. I was looking for a salon all morning. i went to a shop in Kalihi but all their nail experts were busy with customers waiting in line. i walked in and it looked like at least an hour wait. Tamra is who you have to go to. Specially if you want nice nail art done. She does my nails very well and it lasts long of course I get gel fills. This is a small nail shop so it's better to make an appointment. Because you may have to wait if there's someone before you. There's only about two nail lady's and all of them also do pedicures. Tamra's husband does pedicures as well. If you want nice nails I suggest you go to Tamra. I have been going for her for years and then she moved nail places and I found another nail tech that was really good and then she just moved. I found Tamra again and I couldn't be happier. i would not recommend ANYONE to get waxed here ever. My sister went to go get her eyebrows waxed and the next morning she woke up & there are burn marks or these weird cuts around her eye area. My sister said the way the lady ripped off the wax wasn't the right way, she didnt tug the skin back a bit before ripping it off which we think caused these scars/cuts. She couldn't wash her face or do anyting without it burning. We called them to tell them what happened just to receive attitude. Meaning that they might not have too many workers but they work very hard to get to you as soon as possible while keeping their customers satisfied. Me and my boyfriend both got pedicures and i aslo got an acrylic full set. Took my mom for a pedi and and I got me a full setof resin. I've been seeing Twinkle for over five years now. I am impressed that she is still up and running during this pandemic. The salon is clean and medium sized. They proved an array of services. I usually do a pedicure and resin nails. The prices are average. The service is where you get your monies worth. I have ingrown toenails. Twinkle and he husband are the only two i trust so far to take care if my feet. The pedicures are to die for. On this particular visit I had a broken ankle and was still able to do a pedicure and it felt great. They took care not to be rough and gave the full treatment. There's free parking out front, as it's located in a strip mall. Same one as Leeward Drive Inn in Waipahu. They do walk-in or appointments. Temperatures are taken at the door. The staff are all wearing masks and sanitizer is on the front desk for anyone to use. They have one unisex restroom. On this visit the television was set on a foodie YouTube Chanel that was family friendly. The tone before it was set on tela novela. If you want quality service this is your spot. This nail salon is located in Waipahu's Westgate Center, right next to Thelma's. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but inside is clean, spacious and bright. Made an appointment for me and josh for a same-day pedicure. The lady said we would be able to get our pedi's at the same time no issue. Unfortunately when we got there, there was only 2 people working and I had to wait about 30mins before getting my pedicure started so josh had to wait a while. The pedicure was great, my feet felt like a million bucks after everything was done. They actually massage your feet here, and not just a quick rub either which was a plus! You can tell they really care about their work. The massage chair was good, but me and josh had some back pains afterwards and I found myself stopping the chair a few times. It got a bit uncomfortable after a while. When we were checking out, I didn't know josh paid $150 for our pedicures. It was supposed to be $60 each. Later found out that the use of the lavender foot rub was extra $$.. would've been good to know before getting it. I've been going to this nail salon to get my monthly gel pedicure for over a year now and my experience yesterday was simply horrible. Each time I've went in, the owner and her husband would be present and I'd always leave satisfied with their service. This time around, there were 2 young ladies that I've never seen before. I was immediately greeted by one of them as soon as I stepped into the salon and was sat down at one of the pedicure chairs. Soon after, a young lady came over to my chair and began prepping for my pedicure. She did not greet me but asked if I was getting a solid color or glitter top for my toes. The first red flag that happened was she began to PEEL OFF my old gel polish with a CUTICLE REMOVER TOOL. She "successfully" removed the polish off the 4th toenail on my right foot. I did not say anything because I felt no pain but I did feel pressure. After she "peeled" off the old gel polish for my right pinky toe, I looked down and noticed that it had NO NAIL. I was in disbelief because I came in WITH nails on ALL my toes. I could tell she knew she did something wrong because she kept looking down at what she peeled off and was touching my pinky toe!! After that she began to file off the polish for the rest of my toes. Second red flag is she made me bleed while removing the dead skin/cuticle off one of my toes. Of all the times I've gotten a pedicure, not once have I bled. She cut so much of my skin off that it bled persistently. Even after I left the salon it continued to bleed. 3rd of all, she did not use a sugar scrub which is something I'd always get during my pedicures there at Twinkle Nails. Lastly, she did not even bother to properly clean up the polish around my toes with nail polish remover and a brush. She used her nail to remove the excess polish, which is okay because I've seen other people do that, but she did not bother to make sure they were cleaned up neatly afterwards. I didn't want to say anything else because I didn't want her to ruin my pedicure even more. I simply paid and left. No tip at all for that young lady. I came here for nail removal. Instead of having the correct tools for removal, they were improvising with a fake acrylic nail to scrap off my old acrylic nails. The owner allowed this and forcefully attempted to pull of my acrylic. They were not preserving the integrity of my nails. Instead they were trying to pry them off at all means. There were scratches on my natural nail and not all the acrylic came off. Not very professional and I am very disappointed in the service here. Not coming back. I went to their salon for a basic gel mani. The gal who did my nails, although very nice, did not know what she was doing. I believe she was actually a hair stylist and not a nail tech. She did the worst job on my nails I have ever had. I had gel on my fingers, on my cuticles and she cut me three times and the gel was a lumpy mess. Another guy stepped in to remove the gel and he destroyed my nail beds with the drill. At this point I had been there 1.5 HOURS and was out of time. I asked him to just do the mani with a simple clear coat. He didn't even buff my damaged nail beds! And after all this, they tried to charge me for a mani. I was so mad. I left there with my nails in way worse condition then when I went in! I wasted 1.5 hours of my life and my Boba completely melted and I didn't get to drink it. I was very upset. This was my first time at a nail salon since the pandemic and the first time since the owner switched to Twinkle. I really love my full set! Twinkle was very fast and efficient and my nails came out great. It's very steady with clients and there is only a few workers available. As far as the hair stylist working in the salon, she doesn't seem like she wants business. It seems to me like she decides who she wants to help and racial profiles clients. Twinkle had asked her to wax my eyebrows really quickly and she looked at the clock and said oh I have another client coming soon (nobody came while I was waiting). Twinkle asked her if she could do it now and she said oh but I have to wash my client's hair. I ended up waiting about 45mins till Twinkle was free and could wax my brows (literally only took like 5 mins).
