Location easily accessible in Kapolei Cons- my hair was bleached (to remove any remaining box dye) and dyed over. The final color did NOT look any different than my original hair color and I am very disappointed in the time and money spent on it. There is a very subtle difference in direct sunlight but it's barely noticeable. I can chalk that up to me not choosing to go light enough, fine. I was too disappointed by the end result that I didn't notice that the stylist also dyed the right side of my face (about an inch from my hairline to by cheek wide and about 3 inches down in length) and I received a couple chemical burns from the bleach! I now have a patch of hair dye on my face that I am hoping will fade away soon. I didn't notice this until I got home and pulled my hair back behind my ears since it was styled down when I left the salon (covering it). I've tried desperately to cover it with makeup and pull my hair down to try to cover it. My chemical scalp burns I noticed when I ran my fingers through my hair and felt something hard, crusty, and a bit sensitive to touch. This tracks since it was also the part that I felt a strange sensation during the bleaching and I told the stylist that I felt. The color on the majority of my hair after the bleach (not roots) was a lovely brown that I should had just opted for. Instead I was told the color I chose to dye it would be slightly darker than the bleached color which seemed fine. But when my hair was finally finished, I had to hold back tears of disappointment. Overall, they are very nice and sweet but I am beyond sad and disappointed with the end result. I want to go cry some more.

Free uncovered parking lot that doesn't seem too busy or crowded. Went in and made an appt with Lily who looked at my hair, the length, cut and color and said yes she can take me the following week. Arrived about 10 minutes early and Lily was waiting and welcomed me with a smile and lead me to her chair. The place is smallish but clean, cozy and has a nice relaxing vibe from all the other stylists. There's also a restroom inside which is nice because the other one you have to go outside the building and up some stairs. Lily asked her manager, Belen, to look at my hair color and she brought over a matching card to make sure I approved of the color to be used. This was appreciated since I was a little nervous being my first time here. Lily is friendly and professional, been doing hair a while so I felt very confident in her hands. The color took well and I have to say that it used to make my scalp itchy for a few days after, but this one did not! My scalp was fine and it's been over two weeks and my color still intact with no grays showing! Usually it starts to show about this time so I'm happily surprised that it's still covered. Not sure what type of color she used but it's much better. Lily also cut my hair at my request. It's very long and I wanted more layers with some bangs to hide my forehead wrinkles. She gave me some advice on what would look best for my face shape and age. I also showed her a couple pictures of what I thought would look good and she said one would be nice but the other not so much haha! I liked her honesty and Lily was right- she did a nice job! Called Lily yesterday to make an appt to get my hair highlighted and she came to the phone, took down details and then called me back later but I wasn't available. I called the shop and someone else answered and said Lily was gone for the day, said she'd let her know I called her back. Lily then called me from her cell which I never had any stylist do before- to see if I could come earlier. It was really nice that the gal I spoke with contacted Lily to let her know I had called her back. The price for cut and color was very reasonable and although cash tips are probably preferred it's nice to know you can add on to the charge card but I leave a little more since it gets taxed. I have been having a hit or miss on different companies, but this time I had a great haircut, and it's the building near Costco Waipio, between Ramen Ya and Ninja Sushi. We first looked up supercuts since it was in the same area, but after visiting both, my son and I decided to go to this Fantastic Sams because the hairstylists were cutting more detailed hairstyles, not just a chop shop. This Fantastic Sams, although it costed more than supercuts, they were very courteous and friendly, and the shop was clean. I got a thorough hair wash with conditioner, and this time my bob cut was exactly what I wanted. The last bob cut turned out awful, and she did what she could to fix it. My son's korean style haircut also turned out nice even if it wasn't sheared. However, he did not get a wash even though it was included, thus the 4 stars. At least Laurie gave me her card, so I can call and ask for her again because she did a great job with my hair and will definitely get my hair cut here again after I grow it out again for another 6 months. I just hope she is still there since these type of shops tend to have a lot of turnover. Lots of parking, but their parking lot is a little stiff and tight since there's a whole row of restaurants as well as UPS in the strip, but if you don't mind walking a bit, you can probably park in Costco parking lot as well.

Most other places, no matter how much I spend seem to cut it badly, and overcharged me, but Flora's rates are still pretty much the same, and cheap since years ago. TJ was very friendly and talkative while she cut my hair. She was patient with me deciding how short I wanted it, asking for midlength then after seeing the length as too long,I asked for her to cut it shorter since I only cut my hair once a year. She did a really good job layering it and cutting it evenly. Of course I'll continue to get my hair cut here.
