I have had the opportunity and privilege of experiencing a few different therapists. All have been very good. Thank you to the management for such a great team. My masseuse was timid. She literally place both of her hands on top of my back without any pressure for good 3-5minutes and I was hella confused as to why she thinks that'll feel good? In my experience on the Front Range, massage centers go out of their way to build trust and to make sure clients feel safe. No so at Simply Massage. They refuse to share vaccine status of staff and masks are optional. This place was pretty good. We arrived on a very snowy morning and were super happy that the massage therapists were there (because the roads were really bad). It was very clean and the people are very kind and polite. Three things kept me from giving a higher rating: 1) The massage table was not warm and didn't warm up. Not a big deal but it does seem to be the norm nowadays in most massage places and on such a snowy, cold morning, it would've been a nice experience to have the table be warm. I think it was in but perhaps didn't work correctly. I did mention it in the session and the therapist told me it was on. 2) We requested deep tissue massage and neither one of us experienced a deep tissue massage. The massages were still nice and relaxing, but didn't quite work out those tight areas like we expected. 3) Upon payment, I calculated a 20% tip. So on two $89 massages, 20% was $36 total, rounding the massages up to $90. I tend to tip 20% unless the service was bad. The receptionist told me that they recommend $20 tips, which would be more than 20%. Not sure why. I said that I understood and that I thought a 20% tip was adequate. Afterwards, I thought about it and my guess is that an even $20 tip make it easier on their end to managing distribution of the tips to therapists. Still, it felt fairly entitled to ask people to give more of their money to something that is already a luxury (for me, anyway). Again, all in all, I would probably come here again and I would be more specific about the type of massage I would like. I did expect to complete an intake form and that's usually where I provide information about my tension spots, the pressure I like, etc. We weren't offered one and I didn't think it was a big deal. read more

On Tuesday June 15 my wife and I had massages in Glenwood Springs at noon and 1pm. We were left with deep bruises despite telling the massage therapist to use less pressure. My wife had 1 to 2 inch bruises all across the top of her butt, and both my forearms were deeply bruised. We still have painful bruises a week and a half later. read more

My friend went to the Westin for her massage, but I didn't want to break the bank so I searched for a more affordable experience. I was a little worried it would be a hole in the wall compared to the fanciness my friend was experiencing (it IS in a strip mall), but I was delighted immediately upon entering. Wow! I'm staying in the area for only a couple days and was in need of a massage. Drawn in by their ad in the Vail Daily and stoked on the pricing, I quickly booked. The receptionist was knowledgeable and gave great phone. I asked for a 90 min deep tissue by someone more skilled than average as I am a massage therapist. (I'm also a business owner with 150 5-star reviews here on Yelp) When I arrived to their Avon location it was beautiful, professional and highly relaxing. My therapist was Lisa and she listened to my needs. Shoots! Did I get far more than I bargained for! She works very deep and later told me she was more of a rolfer at the heart of it all. Excellent massage! Gave me some very solid therapeutic work I needed and had to have her lighten up a bit, which is far more desirable than begging for more pressure! I decided to check out Simply Massage becuase of reviews I had read online. Booking was quick and easy and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I had booked a 60 min relaxation massage with Valerie. This was my first time and the only info that was taken were questions about Covid, nothing was asked regarding troubled areas or why I was there. I got there 10 min early for my 3:00. My massage physically started at 3:06 and ended at 3:55. I could tell Valerie was in a hurry towards the end and that her next appointment was probably at 4:00. I was a bit disappointed that my massage wasn't the full 60min and felt rushed out. No water was offered afterwards or time asked for questions. Overall the massage was ok but a little more attention and the full 60 min would've been nice. read more

Big ones, too! I was able to get an appointment easily over the phone and they got me in right away. I was in PAIN before my appointment and Amy R. made me feel human again. She knows what she's doing. Very professional. She listens and she modified the pressure based on what I requested. I also like that she understands the value of quiet during a massage. Other than short exchanges about pressure and knots, she let me enjoy the massage in peace. I mention this because I have had several LMTs over the years who just chat your ears off. Not Amy. She just gets to work and stays focused. Super affordable. Because it's the off-season, they gave me a really good discount: $54 for an hour-long massage. Woot! The front desk people were also fab. The facility is minimal and peaceful as opposed to complex and active like a spa, which suited my needs and was reflected in the affordable prices. The reason for my five stars, though, is the massage given to me by Amy Rogers. After four days of some serious biking and hiking in the mountains, my whole body was sore, especially my lower calf which felt like shin splints on the back of my leg. In the hour given for the massage, Amy worked wonders with all my soreness and by the next day, it was almost completely gone! When I'm in Avon again next year, I'm making a beeline straight to Simply Massage if Amy is still there. My very minor criticism of the experience is they have a tip chart posted at the desk that suggests how much you give, and the range started at around 25% and went up instead of reflecting the more standard 15-20% for tip-based services. I will say that nobody pressured me to follow the chart or even give a tip at all. Again, minor stuff. read more
