I hate the idea of writing a bad review for anything having to do with our wedding because it was, despite a few hiccups & issues, such a wonderful day. However, I think it's important for other brides to know information about vendors, since knowing what I know now would've stopped me from booking Juliette. I booked her well in advance, & throughout the initial process, there were definitely some red flags. I emailed her rarely (maybe 2-3 times) throughout the months leading up to the wedding (she offers this as a complimentary service); sometimes she would respond promptly, other times it would take her days & days to respond. I felt like her common response to my questions was "Not to worry, we'll find a way to work it out on the day of." To me, this isn't really an answer, since it doesn't solve the problem or tell me how it'll be fixed! However, at the month-before mark, I tried to set these little hiccups aside & go into our working relationship with a positive mindset, because this is when she really steps in & takes over. At our meeting 4 weeks out, she came organized & asked all the right questions. However, soon after, communication with her became a huge headache....I felt as though having her was doing the exact opposite of what I'd hired her for, de-stressing me. She often wouldn't confirm she'd received my changes to our itinerary/seating chart, & as a result, instead of just updating the itinerary myself, I had to 1)email her, 2) bug her to ensure she received my email, & 3)check the updated itinerary to ensure she'd added the changes/seating chart/etc. This made me regret booking a coordinator since it became way more work for me than if I'd just coordinated it myself. I also got feedback from a few vendors that when they asked her questions, she didn't fully answer them, so they ended up coming to me for clarification. I felt I'd hired her to take tasks OFF my plate, not put more on! She was also out of town for the week before my wedding, which would've been no problem if not for the fact that she was a horrible communicator during this time! For anyone planning a wedding, you know 2 weeks out is when crazytime hits & little details need to be squared away asap. I'd send her emails, she wouldn't answer, & I'd have to follow up to ensure she received them (on one occasion she completely missed an email that I had to call to her attention). She was supposed to come to my house to pick up our wedding decor....we set a tentative date & then I didn't hear from her for several days. At that point, 5 days before the wedding, I had out-of-town guests who wanted to make plans to get together, so this was EXTREMELY frustrating to have her not respond & leave me waiting in limbo. The rehearsal was a nightmare, as well--I had guests calling me as I was on my way because they were confused about where to go when arriving at the venue, & I assumed that Juliette simply hadn't arrived yet to direct traffic/tell guests where to go/take charge. So I was livid when I arrived there & saw Juliette there at the venue, looking confused & honestly a little overwhelmed. I had to ask if she was supposed to run the rehearsal or if I was! The run-through was unorganized & I was embarrassed to be represented by her in front of friends/family. She was condescending to our bridal party (asking them to repeat their arrival time for hair/makeup the next morning back to her to ensure they "understood") & handed out wedding day itineraries to random family members, which I thought was bizarre. On the day of, setup was good (I diagrammed everything because at this point I had limited trust in her, but she did a good job in following my instructions). I also loved her assistant (Lauren?)--she was very sweet & helpful. However, something was added on to our rental order at Juliette's discretion that was not something I wanted or ended up needing, which is frustrating because it is in ALL the pictures. Also, on several occasions (both at rehearsal & walk-through), I stressed to Juliette the importance of making the aisle wide (I had a huge ball gown & didn't want to run into guests). I guess she forgot--as a result I was barely able to fit down the aisle, & my poor hubby, who escorted his mom & dad, couldn't even walk down the aisle with all 3 of them side by side because the aisle was so narrow. That was absolutely something Juliette should have listened to me on, & it is infuriating that our processional was affected by her not following through on something. I'm a very organized person, so if you're really unorganized you may find her more helpful than I did, but ultimately, I found that the poor communication led to more work than had I coordinated it myself & had a few bridesmaids set up decor. Again, I hate to write a bad review, but I don't want other brides to have the same experience. I think Juliette is sweet, but ultimately I didn't feel she was fully competent, confident or prepared to coordinate my wedding. read more
