I had visited Intermountain Smiles to have some implants put in over the course of the past year or…read moreso. While Dr.Young did great work with the actual process of getting the implants put in, the billing situation was as sharp as a root canal without the Novocain. My bill looked like a tax return and didn't resemble the costs that were agreed upon prior to this process kicking off. They refused to bill my insurance (for about 6 months until I asked my insurance provider reached out to them) for reasons unknown, did not provide procedure codes upo request, and were genuinely the worst to work with. The individual who runs their billing takes the cake for being the most confident yet least knowledgeable person in regard to how insurance works and exactly what they will and will not cover. Luckily my provider was able to have a 1:1 session with her to (hopefully but unlikely) get her up to speed on best billing practices moving forward. She's extremely rude and becomes increasingly so as you call her on her shady and unethical practices. I'm sure there will be some cutesy reply to this placing all the blame on me but at the end of the day I hope I can dissuade at least one person from going through what I went through with this place. Find another office to deal with!

Granite View Dental - Dr Ellingson and his beautiful family.

In short, read the other reviews. They are crooks and will (in my opinion and the opinion of two…read moredentists I asked) over treat and over charge you. I would stay away or at the very least I would take their treatment plan to another dentist for a second opinion before consenting to any treatment. My longer review: Dr. Ellingson and his staff are very friendly people, and their office is clean and lovely. I'm even sure that the work that they do is high quality. However, I would urge you to read the reviews before you go here. I showed up with a tooth that needed a root canal. On my initial exam I was told that I needed somewhere around 12 other fillings. That set off some alarm bells as I'd been having (at minimum) yearly checkups by reputable dentists in San Francisco and Chicago over my entire adult life. I have never had any dentist tell me I needed this much work done. But I went and got the root canal and then was convinced/tricked to get a few fillings done "while they were in that quadrant". Long story short, I took their treatment plan to two different dentists. Neither agreed with their plan, both thought it was over-treating. One was apoplectic, asked for the name of the practice so that she could call them herself. Her words were that they were "bandits" and that "god will judge them for stealing from people who need help". Anyways, I would recommend all clients go get a second opinion prior to authorizing any work. I won't mention that they (I assume they are well versed in insurance) told me that my max benefit was 1500 when it was 1000 and then proceeded to milk every cent from that that they could and then foist the rest onto me. I'm no expert (or fan) of my insurance so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. All I"ll say is to take their treatment plan for a second opinion before consenting to any work.

When I got there the staff was very pushy and wanted to get me in right away. I sat down and 5 minutes later the doctor came in telling me he couldn't help me because my teeth were too bad. That I needed tons of work done and referred me to his friend. He also told me I wouldn't have any of my teeth within a year. Well, I have all my teeth, went to another dentist and had a great time. The problem I had was customer service, honestly, taking time to actually evaluate what was going on, and being over charged. I didn't get anything out of this service and my insurance was charged and I was charged. Very very disappointed to say the least.

Fort Union Family Dental - Dr. Larsen treating patient

Dr Larsen and his staff were amazing…read more I found them on Yelp since I was looking for a new Dentist. Suddenly one of my teeth became sensitive so I called and they got me in the next day. Normally when my teeth feel like this it involves a root canal and a crown and about $4,000. I was dreading that possibility. Dr Larsen knew what to do. Part of an old crown had broken away leaving my nerve exposed. He filled in the missing part with a white filling material. He was like a Master Painter as he worked to make it blend in. Tonight I'm back to chewing ice and drinking cold drinks. My Cost with insurance was a 10th of what I was expecting. What I know is Dr Larsen is a kind and experienced Dentist. He has seen it all. He was just what I needed so now I have a new Dentist I can trust again. You have no idea what a relief this is to me. Trust me when I tell you there are many Dentists in Salt Lake but not that many good ones. If you need a good Dentist go see them. Their office and staff are beautiful too.
