Heartless and very Poor customer service , lack of empathy , lack of communication and dishonest. Who notifies a family to make other arrangements for there deceased loved one when arrangements were paid in full and family were notified of there final viewing with the deceased , and there 80 % of there family reside in London, UK . This is completely Unjustified! And there reason "due to a bad google review ", Simplicity does that's who . I strongly would not recommend using this facility if you desire a peace of mind when making arrangements for a loved one. I received an call from my niece today saying that Simplicity Cremation has refused to continue service with her due to her review on their website and has asked that she have her loved one removed from their facility it's awful to have her go through this kind of thing during this time of grief so sad to do this to anyone!! I wouldn't recommend Simplicity for Anything!!!!!! They Refused to pick up My Uncle, because he passed at 6 , and the bank was closed. They demanded to be paid in full . I told them , that I could only get $500 out of the ATM , and would get the rest when the bank opened in the morning. They were cold and told me to call the corner. Hospice said the corner won't come get him , because it was a natural death. Another mortuary agreed to come get him , but charged us double. Simply should change their name To: Cold as ice , because if your loved one passes after the bank closes. Your gonna need to pack them on ice until it opens . Worst decision I have made in years was choosing this place, it has been a nightmare at every step of the process. Even the owners response to this review shows the customer blaming and excuses that we're there hallmark of my experience here. Check out my picture, I think your staff lied to you, i called you on the 20th left a message, I also called on the 23rd (said they would call back) but didn't talk to anyone till they called back on the 25th. Bet that's why you keep having to write these kind of responses on yelp. Also I never said not to contact me. Since your staff told me they were unlikely to have the remains back in a month I had to cancel the plans I had made, when they were actually delivered is moot point I already canceled everything. If you want to understand why you are 2 for 2 on 1 star reviews I would be happy to help give me a call. However if you just want to keep assuming the customer is always wrong don't bother. Anyways on to my orginal review: Between the lack of follow through, non-responsive customer service, inability to complete even the most basic tasks correctly (such as running a credit card), the disregard for the need for timelines, the excuses and the indignation of the staff; this company was plain awful. They would not commit to a time frame for getting the remains back to me so ultimately I had to cancel the service I had planned for a month out. It made losing my father way more frustrating, they made me cry multiple times and refused to take any accountability for anything. EVERY STEP of the process of dealing with them was inefficient, exhausting and difficult. Here are a few of the most annoying things. As the previous reviewer said I was told when my father's body was picked up that the office would contact me within 24 hours. I had to call them after a couple days. A woman said she would call me back in a little bit, didn't hear back until 2 days later when another woman called me. This other woman practically scolded me for not having my paperwork back to them yet, because I was holding up their process. They couldn't even "start anything" till they have it, she guilted me about how my dads body is just sitting waiting. I panic, get the paperwork and it is a 25ish pages, confusing AF and asks for the same information over and over. After dropping everything to get it done they charge my card but I hear nothing back at all. I call again after a few days to see what the next steps are and they say they can't do the cremation for another two weeks or so till the official cause of death comes back. Meaning they had to wait anyways and the whole needing the paperwork immediately was a scare tactic to get paid quick, super tacky. *owner please reread cause clearly you missed the point* They told me the county takes 30 days for the death certificates, I was charged on 9/26 and called to follow up on 10/29 and they told me they didn't order them till 10/10 so it would be another few weeks. They tried to tell me I didn't order them till the 1st (my credit card bill says different but ok) and even if it was the 1st that means they took 10 days to put in the order when you know that there is a 30 day lead time? Knowing that families need it for everything relating to handling affairs? Additionally, they told me a month later that they only ordered half the certificates I paid for when. They never told me when I ordered them that they charge fire all but order half only when I call to follow up . They said they would order the rest "later" meaning I would have to wait another 30 days plus for the other half. Just BS The excuses were disgusting and customer blaming was unprofessional. Simplicity was very helpful with the passing of my mom from start to finish. I dealt with Jennifer from the beginning and she was compassionate and informative. After much thinking after I used this service I had to give this only a two star. It wasn't so much the men that came to pick up my mom from my home. Those gentleman had the utmost respect for I and my family. They took their time and were very very gentle and seemed to be very caring as my entire family was here with her and watching. Before they left they said I would receive a call from the office to discuss further paperwork. Well I never received the call. That was the beginning of my nightmare. After a few day I called I was waiting to for your call. I was told it was up to me to call them rudely. Then they asked me some questions. I can't be exact as to days and times as I'm still in a daze about everything that happened. Basically I didn't know when I needed to have the money, then I was told they will only hold my mom for 2 weeks before a storage fee would be charged. So no problem we paid . This was all in the first 2 weeks after mom's death. They wouldn't release my moms remains until the they got the death certificates, I was told could take up to a month because the process was so slow. Not knowing what was going on by now, my kids and I got to feeling my mom was now a hostage. It was extremely stressful, sad , cold, cruel. I decided to utilize Simplicity's services since I could fill out all the paperwork online. It took quite a while to do so because you even have to fill out the death certificate with grandparents places of birth. Not their fault, but I filled out all the paperwork and got a confirmation email that I was all set. I even had to give my credit card. Then when the hospice service called them to come remove my dad's body, they wouldn't come because he died of COVID and he was in a nursing home. The very first thing you put on the paperwork is where your loved is located and I had put the name of the nursing home. I had 4 hours to engage another service and even though they were twice the price, there was no problem with them picking up a COVID patient from a nursing home. There was no mention of Simplicity not being able to work with COVID patents OR nursing homes on their website. Very disappointing since I had filled everything out prior to my dad's death then I had to scramble to find another service. read more
