On May 2, our son passed away young from cancer. We live in Winchester CA but our son passed away in San Antonio TX. We had to have him cremated at a local mortuary, and we ordered urns, mini urns & urn necklaces, not really knowing how we would get them filled. The mortuary in San Antonio TX shipped the ashes to us, and I called around hoping a local mortuary would help us, and hopefully not be too expensive. I called them on a Saturday & received a definitive yes, and was quoted $35. They were very sympathetic & considerate on the call. One I was ready, I called Archer, and he was kind, helpful & flexible with me on the meet up time. They filled all my urns, and as we were taking them to my truck, I mentioned payment; he said "don't worry about it" it's on us. WOW. read more

I can't say enough on how fantastic the staff at Hemet Valley mortuary have been. Especially the funeral director Archer Harmon. This was the first funeral that I had to organize. Archer made it so easy for me and my wife, took all the stress and anxiety away. He went above and beyond, even giving me his cell number in case I had any questions. He is a true professional and a master of every little detail that is needed for a successful memorial service and reception. And he handled so many details that I thought would be my responsibility, making things much easier in a difficult time. The rest of the staff was also very helpful and kind. I have read some of the negitive reviews on this site and all I can say is look at the dates. These were posted 3-10 years ago. That was not my experience. Their prices are fair and we received wonderful, attentive service. Misty was there on the day of our service and ensured everything went well. She was an angel, and helped with the reception. Eric only cared about our satisfaction, not over selling. Everything was perfect! Suggestions: new carpet! Remove staff food from the reception refrigerator and give it a good cleaning. We recently lost my aunt, she passed away on a Friday late evening. I started calling different mortuaries, Hemet Valley Mortuary was the first place that actually had someone answering the phone and not an answering machine even though it was late. Eric Rodriguez was the person who answered the phone that night and also the person who helped my uncle and I throughout most of the process. Eric was so patient and professional with my uncle and I. When we told him stories of my aunt and everything we were going thorough he made us feel like he genuinely cared about us. Anytime I had any questions or concerns I would call or email Eric, he would always get back to me in a timely manner. On the day of the viewing Stephanie was the person who helped us that night. Stephanie was so amazing, she made it possible for my aunt to have the service she deserved. Hemet Valley Mortuary's staff were absolutely incredible, extremely kind and compassionate. I can NOT recommend these people. My dad paid for both my parents' cremation etc, years before they died. After my dad died this past March, I waited the 2 weeks for the death certificates that they said it would take. They'd said they'd call when they were ready. At 3 1/2 weeks, I called & the gal said they'd been sitting there for a while; she had no idea why I hadn't been notified. She said she'd have "Tom" call me. (Manager? Owner?) He didn't. I had to call him several times, & finally reached him; he said he'd been on vacation, so things hadn't gotten done properly. He did apologize for things falling between the cracks. Yesterday I received a bill from the mortuary for $1089! I called & said this was all pre-paid in full years ago. "Tom" said the insurance hadn't paid yet, but to ignore the bill, and some nonsense about why this happens. (Do I care why? No.) I said (not loudly, just calm & matter of fact): "Ok, but it seems like you're always apologizing for something that wasn't done right. Anyway, thanks." He hung up, w/o so much as a goodbye! Just clanged down the phone. Unprofessional, insensitive, they bungled nearly every step of the process - YIKES! I do have to say that the fellows who came to pick my dad up the night he died, were really sweet and nice, and left a (fake) white rose on the bed. I mentioned his friend name- who he came in with him They said that they don't know him either. I said "that's funny, cuz he was cremated here?!" Humm? This place is horrible, mortuary's are suppose to be able to help a grieving family with the passing of a love one this place is full of incapable employees Monica and Denise think it's funny to hold my mother in laws father and are refusing to allow her to bring him home where he rightfully belongs she has been his caregiver for the last 10 years and they think it's funny to keep him from his family! Losing a family member is already hard enough and for this mortuary to be completely heartless and to start making unnecessary charge fees and now say he's " In processing" is illegal and just sick! read more

Do not use this mortuary. Was quoted a comprehensive price which I paid in full at the time contract was signed. Based on price additional unnecessary services were purchased. Weeks after the burial I was contacted and told over $300 was owed due to their own internal bookkeeping mistake. Had I known the costs I could have adjusted my choices. Service was poor. Doors locked & lights off during evening viewing- told "everybody knows to use the side door." Only one kneeler available (broken) although assured catholic practice accommodated. Assured additional personnel available for pallbearers- it was the grave digger from the cemetery dressed in rags. When I called to ask who owned the business to register a complaint I was told by "Justin" that he owned the business. After questioning finally admitted that Carriage Industries owns this business. Choose anywhere else for your loved one. No one deserves what happened to our family. Other quality funeral homes exist for a comparable price. read more

My father passed away in April 2013. Our family got the quote for their services which was $2750 to have the viewing at their funeral home and $3200 to have the viewing at our home in Temecula hemet area. We initially decided and paid to have the viewing at our home. We later changed our minds and decided to have my dad's viewing at their facility. I contacted Justin by phone and email. He emailed me saying they would not be giving me a credit for the difference. They need to honor their over the phone quotes. I know they are running a business and are numb to feelings but how could they take advantage of us. I want a refund for the difference as it is morally right. read more
