I was a little turned off at the $21.95 price, but in the end I believed it was totally worth it. They have seafood on the weekends and everything was delicious. From crab legs, to oysters, to fried shrimp. I probably ate more than the $21.95 price tag. They had a full salad bar, baked potato bar, veggie bar, dessert bar, hot & cold. It was just amazing. The staff came around and cleared away plate after plate instantly, never did they stack up or our drinks empty. The manager came over and greeted us promptly and even helped take away dishes. It was noticeable that she was a team player and helped her employs during a rush. She smiled big and was a very friendly face to see. This buffet, its staff, and the cleanliness of the entire place is worth going back to time and time again. it also didn't help that I came out ahead at the casino by about 120 bucks!

The servers are always smiling, happy and do their best to get you seated if there is a line. Why they never include a spoon with the cutlery is a bit of a mystery but I'm not going to ding them for that. They're also on top of refilling my beverage which is always a plus so 5 stars for the current wait staff. CONS: The buffet is never HOT. It's not necessarily cold either, just a little warm. The Chinese food isn't nearly as good as the Chinese buffets in Tulsa but it's still decent enough, especially the Sesame Chicken and egg rolls. I do get a kick in seeing the okra on the buffet. You would only see that at an Oklahoma Chinese restaurant. The dessert cookies are REALLY, REALLY good. Another thing: a lot of the menu items are cooked really, really bland, not enough spice & kick in them. That might also be due to them not being as warm as they should be so for overall quality of food, I'm only going to give them 3 stars out of 5. It's a shame Ponca doesn't have another Chinese buffet opening up soon if only to light a fire under Hunan's butt and inspire them to do better. It's a nice little restaurant and like I said, "decent enough" food, they just need to take things to the next level and instead of being "good," be "excellent." Maybe some day.

There were several of my favorites that I had to put on my plate; General Tso Chicken, Sesame Chicken, dumplings, & Beef & Broccoli! I did two plates just so I could fulfill all of my favorites. To end the meal had to have the ice cream & almond cookies. Not that I'll be passing through Ponca City anytime soon but this would be worth a stop in for lunch or dinner!

My husband found this place looking for something to eat. LOL We're always on the search for Asian…read morefood, and he loves buffets. I always have a hard time with Chinese food because I'm from Hawaii and so that's what I'm comparing it to. He suggested we go here. The serve lunch and dinner buffet, and they also allow you to buy to go. This is paid by the pound. The food is ok, the standard Chinese food. Beef broccoli, chicken and mushroom, sweet & sour chicken, pork loin, fried rice, steamed rice, soup, etc. So essentially the standard stuff. The food is usually hot, and they turn over the food pretty quickly, so it's usually fresh. I've never had any problems with the menu. The restaurant itself is pretty sizable, so there are booths as well as tables to sit at. The hostess is friendly and remembers your face when you come in. (That's a big deal to me) When we went in my younger son wasn't with us, and she noticed and asked after him. So, it means she pays attention! They do offer soda, but I can't remember if it's included with the cost for the buffet. They do have an adult price, and a child's price. We don't go there a ton, but the customer service is always great. They ensure your drinks are filled and they clear your dirty plates pretty quick as well. So, check it out. I think it's better than the Chinese place that's in Stillwater! No I'm not talking about Golden Dragon, or the place that's in the old red lobster.

The food was hot, flavorful, and constantly being refilled, so nothing sat out too long. There was a great variety to choose from, and every dish had bold flavor and was cooked just right. It's hard to find a buffet where the quality matches the quantity, but this place definitely delivered. For our first visit, it exceeded expectations in every way. We would rate it way over a 10 out of 10 and will absolutely be back!

I ate here around 7pm on Saturday. Being in a smaller town, I was concerned about the…read morequality/selection (since buffets are dependent on high 'foot traffic'). In this sense, I didn't need to worry. Many of the traditional Chinese buffet items were available (soups, noodles, rice, shirimp, etc.) and some other touches that cater to those who enjoy kimchi, seaweed salad, small octopus, rice roll ("sushi"), and lychees. The quality of the food rivaled the quality in buffets I've visited that were two or three times the size. The foods were generally soy sauce/fish sauce based. I appreciated that approach (over some buffets that I have seen who use a lot of butter/mayonnaise to try to cater to perceived local preferences). Temperature was neither hot nor cold, though it is more difficult to regulate temperature in buffet food than individually prepared meals. As pleasantly surprised as I was with my ability to be satisfied with the food options and quality, I was equally disappointed with the customer service. It lacked the formal service of a larger restaurant and the friendly service of a small town restaurant. There is more to serving (even in a buffet) than placing customers in seats and clearing plates. I was not welcomed, rather asked "how many" and given a negative reaction when I said I that I was the only one in my party. The same reaction was given to the gentleman who arrived after I arrived (also a party of one). Each of us was "seated" by having a silverware roll thrown on the table (not placed pleasantly on the table or any question to see if the seat "suits the needs of the customer"). The drink order was accurate (I received a large/oversized glass of iced tea), but the service lacked the hospitality taught to servers in larger establishments (or tends to happen naturally in smaller town eateries). There was a little congestion at the buffet that I didn't expect as the staff slowly collected called-in 'To Go' orders from the buffet. It probably helps turn-over the buffet foods, but did make popular items difficult to access for a while. Plates were collected efficiently. The bill was brought at an appropriate time. Environmentally, the room was a bit dark and warm (reflecting the hot, humid day), but not unpleasant. The review (3 stars) was an average of the 4 (I rarely give 5s) I give the food and the 2 I give the service. Hospitality, however, can be a day-to-day experience. On the day I visited, the person who appeared to be the main server, seemed to be very involved with whatever she was listening to in her headphones. We customers seemed to be an unwelcome disruption to whatever she was doing on her headphones. Perhaps, it was a bad day to visit. Since I am local and can cook many of these dishes, in the future I will generally opt to cook these dishes at home. However, I do appreciate the restaurant's contribution to the diversity of the food scene in the area. I was impressed to see kimchi and other less common buffet dishes (even uncommon in larger buffets), giving the place a uniqueness that I appreciate. I just hope to see improvements in the hospitality. The food was good enough for me to have hope and the hospitality I received was tolerable in a pinch.

I get that cultures are different and some nationalities are not as friendly, but wow! These people really just hate everyone!! Why in the world do they even work here? And who pooped in their flower box? It's almost a running joke around town about how mean these women are. I'd like to see them at home how they act with their families. I bet it's not pretty. I think they need to go to anger management school. No one wants to complain for fear they'll spit in your food or something. They just need to be sent packing.
