They showed up right on time and got straight to work. They were super professional, efficient, and friendly. I hired Oscar Movers who parks his truck by a post office I use. The first thing I said, on the…read morephone, was there would be multiple trips because I have a lot of oversize pieces. He came by to see what was involved and assured me they could get it all in one truck. He could see already packed boxes, so I showed him every piece, including 2 sheds. I said that the furniture had to go into the new place first because there were a lot of boxes. I told him, if they all are going to fit, to put the boxes in the truck first so they would come out last. We were moving only 3 miles away so could manage to pick up smaller items left behind. Day of the move, Oscar arrives with 4 other Spanish speaking men with some/not enough English. I emphasized to him that some things had to go first, especially the 2 sheds to go on the porch which would be necessary for the items already inside to get them out of the way, and to only take boxes and furniture, we'd come back for anything else. I assumed the US born "Oscar", who all the men called Raoul, was staying and he would supervise and/or help. If I'd known he was leaving altogether, I would have made sure the men knew what to do. We left for our new place and before we were in the car, Oscar was gone. He never relayed my messages to the four men. None of it happened. It all went into the truck at the same time and into our place, higgeldy/piggeldy and boxes mostly in the wrong rooms. All the small items had been picked up and the large furniture left behind. It was exactly the opposite of what I asked for. They even put smaller odds and ends, all dropped into odd boxes or whatever would hold them. These were all the items I requested be left behind! Now we are bringing back things daily that should never have arrived in the first place. At our new place, when the truck was empty, they informed me that they had not been able to fit the 2 sheds, our bed, The freezer, washing machine, 2 dressers, 3 bureaus with most of our clothes, an outdoor chest and 3 large plants. (Sounds like multiple trips to me. Does Oscar know his own business?) I phoned Oscar and insisted we needed our bed to sleep in, so they made a return trip for the 2 sheds, our bed. They didn't bother to take the freezer, washer, dressers and bureaus etc. on that trip. Then Oscar refused to make an appointment pick up the rest of my furniture saying there was no room left to bring them in. Even at the end of the move that day, we had places vacant for the washer, freezer, dressers, bureaus, chest and plants to go. If the furniture had been moved first as requested, he could have gotten them all in and he could have had a 2nd days work for his crew. It left our place with boxes piled on the floor and furniture, sometimes almost to the ceiling with little room to walk between with little room to walk around. I'm not even including several broken and misshaped pieces. (My packing or their rough handling?) If Oscar wants to run a successful business, he has to follow the client's wishes. If he had told the men anything, it would have gone better. If Oscar had taken me at my word, he would have had 2 days of payment. As it was, it went overtime and cost more than he had estimated. I paid in full.

We had a challenging move from downtown S.F. to Berkeley, to a house that is in the middle of multiple construction projects. Yet they made everything feel easy. I had gotten food poisoning the day before and we were stressing because we hadn't yet finished packing. But it was no problem--they loaded the truck with the items that were ready to go while we packed the rest. Make sure to ask for Joseph and his team (Fernando and Victor). They arrived a little early so they'd be ready and were the utmost professional while also being a warm and friendly team of guys. We would have them over dinner any time. Because of Joseph I'm now convinced that moving is both an art and an athletic feat. We had a recliner (100lbs) and a treadmill (200lbs) that were too wide to go through a doorway--and yet he maneuvered them effortlessly through without a scratch on either.

And they also offer a discount based on the way you paid them. WINNING! And so, I didn't use Pure Moving just once, but three times this month. The first time, I had to move from Union City to a storage facility in Elk Grove and this past weekend we had two teams going, one from San Jose to Elk Grove and the other from the storage facility to our new home. Pure Moving was perfect in all ways possible. They were professional, prompt, efficient, and super friendly. They handled and wrapped items with care and made you feel at ease that everything was going to be safe and secure. They disassembled furniture as needed and reassembled it on site. One great detail, they laid down plastic protectors everywhere to keep things clean and tidy where they would be stepping. And cleaned up all the plastic wrap/coverings, cardboard and tape they used while packing and unpacking. They literally took care of all the heavy - and even the light - lifting! I just want to say thank you to Paul, Nick, Toha, Dan and Symon for taking care of our move and my Family. Moving is already stressful but they made it Pure-ly AWESOME!

Every experience I've had with this company has been professional, efficient, and stress-free. I especially want to recognize Roger and Anthony. These two are absolute beasts. They worked hard from the moment they arrived until the very last item was unloaded, all while staying positive, professional, and taking great care of our belongings. What impressed me most wasn't just how hard they worked--it was the pride they took in the job. They hustled all day without cutting corners, communicated well, and made what could have been an incredibly stressful move feel easy. If you're looking for movers, stop searching and book West Coast Moving. A year later I'm still finding damage when I get down on the floor to clean and I see chunks of wood missing from my table legs and white scrapes on the chair legs. This furniture was about six years old when they moved it, and I dusted and covered any dings regularly. I had regularly examined the furniture, but I didn't have kids at the home so it was in great condition. The supervisor complained that he didn't know that items in the garage were included in the move. He didn't think they had enough room, but he canceled the second truck, which they honestly should have used. He also wanted the guys to be off before 4, so it was very rushed. Then he overcharged me, but I did receive a refund after speaking to the business person. I'm very upset about the amount of damage I have found, but I'm not surprised because I couldn't figure out how they got all of it into the truck. I wish I had found the damage earlier, but I had water damage in the bathroom and I had to vacate my unit. One bedroom had to be packed and moved a month after I moved in. I had found some damage on a chair right after I moved, but I thought that was it and I should've checked everything better but I was depressed because of the water damage that happened four days after I moved in. Then my dog got sick with leukemia. He passed away a few months after I moved. Most of the guys were very nice but the supervisor had an attitude. I wasn't sure whether to put two or three stars, but because most of the fault is with the supervisor and not the moving crew, and because the business person took care of damage to my end table I am giving three stars.

I was moving to Sacramento so was really wanting an early start, the earliest they could get to Novato was 10:00. If I wanted to pay an additional ~$200, they could be there an hour earlier.. after they picked up the lease truck. They showed up and got to work right away, the first stack of 3 totes was placed on a moving dolly which promptly tipped over and spilled the contents in the street. I suggested they use my handcart going forward, which they did. The crew was excellent, worked diligently through the day, no complaints. The issue came at the end of the very long and stressful day. The final bill I was presented with ( hand scrawled on a generic "Job Order" form) was way off the agreed price. Items that were quoted in email as being included were charged, additional costs for extra labor hours (an hourly rate was never mentioned, discussed, or agreed to).Similarly there was a charge for trucking. Trucking was casually mentioned, but with no approximation of costs. I called the owner to seek some resolution, but he became very defensive, and actually lied about what was agreed to.The exchange quickly devolved into a argument which ended up with the owner hanging up on me. To me this whole episode is a classic case of "bait and switch", low bid to get the work - extraa charges to follow. If you are happy with that, then on your own head be it, you have been warned.
