Cheeseburger with coleslaw and chips

So this place is a cool old dive bar with food! No smoking (hooray). We came on a Monday night for the $5 burger. OMG so impressed! Chef cooked it perfectly! Comes with lettuce tomato onion and pickle. Chips and even a small side of your choice! Might be a new hangout for us. Want to try the other menu items. Friendly bartender and locals seem nice too! Give them a try

Since Mike is the absolute nicest bartender in town, now happy to have him behind the bar all the time.

We have been here on and off since 2017 watched it change hands and "rebrand" itself. The clientele is the same. The place is the same other than moving the cooler. Bathrooms the same. Lets just say it is a dive bar and likely won't be changing its ID anytime soon. After leaving we smelled like a pack of smokes and I am pretty sure I breathed in a pound of tar. Likely won't be back unless someone in the group wants to go.

It is not a full Liquor Bar either, but they do have wine for those who do not like beer. Choices are limited, I'm guessing due to the small size of the place, but they do offer about 8 or 9 craft beer options in addition to the usual domestic suspects. The bar does not serve food, but there is a vending machine with plenty of potato chips and other assorted crunchy snacks to eat. And there is a communal microwave, oddly positioned next to the pool table for those who perhaps bring food which needs to be heated up? This place opened in 1961 and claims to be the oldest bar in Dunedin. This is interesting because just the other day I was hanging out at The Inn Lounge on the Dunedin Causeway and they're open date is 1960, a full year before Tumbleweeds. Bar Wars, anyone? Victoria is a very friendly bartender, and I would potentially consider revisiting this place simply because it's been around for a really long time. However, it is a cash-only business and I cannot freaking stand cash-only businesses.

Always greeted with a friendly smile and hello with a prompt service of your drink of choice. These guys are so good that they can recall most every person's favorite drink! Now that is awesome. The place is always clean even when a bit of popcorn is dropped from customers, it is not long before it is cleaned up. The tables are cleaned regularly and the staff picks up empties all the time and ready to provide you with a refill. Don't forget to look for the "Dog-Pig" it is a thing, and you may end up with a free drink when you find it. The outside has tables ready for you on those great days and evenings you want to sit outside. Most every weekend, they have live entertainment outside (when the weather permits). Rosie's is truly a gem and a great place to go. Everyone loves Rosie's in Dunedin. I highly recommend this place. There are no such things as strangers, just friends that have not met yet!

It was nice to see Bushmills and Jameson on the shelves. This place is not your standard dive bar. Whoever owns/manages it really cares about what they are serving their patrons. The place was clean but the one thing.... smoking inside. I come from a state where this is not allowed and once you get used to non smoking policies it is hard to go back to leaving an establishment smelling like a pack (or 6) of cigarettes. The good thing is that they have a decent ventilation system so the smoke does not hang in the air. The bathroom was manageable but it could sue some easy updates and fixes. Not having the toilet paper hanging up but rather sitting on the back of the toilet seat is basically gross. $5 fix. The patrons were friendly and all of them seemed to be drinking a large mixed drink. The bar staff was also friendly. They do offer a very limited menu. Pool table on the other side of the establishment. One of the guys brought in his own food from Wendy's so apparently that is acceptable. I would return but for the smoking. Without the smoke it was my perfect little Dunedin dive bar.

Okay, if you live in Clearwater, then you've passed this corner 1,000 times, Hercules and Sunset…read morePoint, and never realized that there was a hidden gem, called Two-Buks Saloon. Once you enter, please notice the two hanging bucks on the wall (to the right) but the reason for the name is deeper. Why is it called Two Buks? The original owners were the Buckley brothers and when they said that they were gonna open a bar in Clearwater, everyone told them that it was a horrible idea for the two Buc-kley brothers and that it would be successful 'when pigs fly'. Well "oink-oink" since 2002! Every successive year that they survived they hung a flying pig from the ceiling (the one above our head sported a pair of hyper realistic brass ones). The menu is pub food and it's old-school delicious. Wings, Mozzarella Sticks that are oozing and hot, tots and fries - oh my.... I don't know about you, but if I'm having a couple of rounds, I need me some delicious pub food to go along with the drinks. The food quality is better than it needs to be and we noticed. The ambience is fun, light with musical playlists that were easy and accessible with some deep cuts thrown in every now and then. Thank Caleb (the amazing bartender) along with the local patrons who have exceptional taste for a playlist. The bar features a full arrangement, plus tons of beers on tap and in bottles. One thing to note - if you order a draft beer it will be served in a chilled frosty beer glass (in an old school glass mug); little detail that makes a big impression. And if you opt for a Stella Artois on draft - yes they do serve it in the Stella Chalice stem ware, also chilled in the freezer (how cool is that?) Cool! You a games guy/gal? You can play pool, darts, shuffle board and live bands.... Live music every Friday and Saturday night! See you there, ROGI
