The impression of the shop regarding hygiene and its appearance both in the kitchen and the shop…read morefront is rather appalling, it is very crowded with its 4 tables and 1 long bench dining area which you also share with its employees that are on meal breaks. The worst comes with what's added to the food itself, we bought a chocolate coated horn and apparently there is this nice big piece of plastic film wrapping in the inside the whipped cream filling.

BreadTop is a bakery and patisserie chain which opened its first store in South Australia last year…read moreafter starting off as a small store in New South Wales and growing from there. BreadTop specialises in sweet and savoury buns, with unusual flavour combinations and ingredient lists, be prepared to spend a bit of time perusing the wares. There is the sausage bun, a hotdog with a bun wrapped around it and with cheese and tomato sauce already on. Their sweet buns are flavourful and probably destroying my arteries they taste that good. Pastry concoctions are also on show here, there is the standard doughnuts to the humble custard tart and my personal favourite the raisin brioche. As bread top is modelled on Asian style bakeries and patisseries, also see red bean paste steamed buns on show, plus the intriguingly coloured bamboo charcoal bun. BreadTop also has a large collection of tortes, gateaux and ice-cream cakes and can make to order. All the cakes are beautifully presented and look too good to eat. The service style here is self service, something I like in a bakery as you can take as long as you like choosing the goods. Have some fun and stuff yourself silly at BreadTop.

Please nte they are closed most school holidays in the retail section but check their website for…read moreexact dates. Below is a link to their retail factory outlet which lists their available products at different times of the year. http://www.kytonsbakery.com.au/factory.php I guess Kytons are best known for their fundraising lamington drives. They would have to make the best lamingtons ever, and in fact have won many awards for them. In addition to this they have a great range of choc chip kookies (meant to be spelt that way), hot cross buns in the lead up to easter (also award winning) and nut slices, including a to die for Apricot Macadamia Slice, as well as apple and apricot pies and my favourite, macadamia and white chocolate bites. In winter they also sell family meat pies, cheese, bacon and beef pies, smaller party pie and roll varieties as well as some yummy sweet stuff like their chocolate self saucing pudding. At Xmas time the variety is even better on the menu. You have to check it out. And with their retail factory outlet it is literally open to anyone all year round. So although it's agreat fundraiser for any organisation and I would always buy them when anyone I know has them for fundraising but why not enjoy a visit to the factory and buy some at other times of the year. They're too good to just wait until someone is fundraising.
