Got our green tomatoes and they were even better than I remembered from the last visit! (Maybe I'm just getting old and my memory is going...but even my husband agreed!) I'm not beating around the bush today. Ordered 20 Smoky Mountain Gold traditional wings--you'd never catch me ordering boneless since I'm not really into chicken nuggets... My husband got the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. He really enjoyed it...with a side of fries done to his perfect over-doneness lol My wings? Absolutely perfect! Delicious, cooked perfectly, well tossed in that golden tangy sauce. I only made it through 9 and gave one to my hubby to try. He agreed with how delicious they are. Well guess what I'm having for dinner tonight?? I have to say their service, quality of food and decent prices for what you get beats anyone else around!

I sure haven't. Last night I had one of the specials-- fresh scallops over pasta and it was just absolutely fantastic. My wife had grilled grouper with sweet potato fries and was so good she refused to share. Service was great. At no point did my cup go empty. My wife is always happy with the wine selection. It was quiet (we ate in the dining room) and was very clean. Nice white tablecloths as well. As much as I enjoyed my entree... my favorite part of the night was dessert. We split an incredible chocolate cake and a slice of sour orange pie. Absolutely my favorite restaurant in the area.

Our brunch experience definitely confirmed that, with a tasty twist on Cajun cooking. My husband tried the Earlton Hash. A tasty combination of shrimp, andouille sausage, a creamy hollandaise sauce and done wonderful tiny potatoes all topped with a fried egg. This dish made for a memorable brunch. He topped it off with a bottle of beer to connect the two eating periods. I opted for the French Toast. It was tender and moist. It came with very crispy bacon. The dining room is nicely furnished with stained glass sea life. They also showcase artwork for sale. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. However, the kitchen is a bit slow in service. Side note-the restrooms, while functional, could use work. And for those looking for liquid refreshments there is an attached bar, with seating behind a full wall .

It's hard to find a restaurant where you can get breakfast, lunch, or dinner anytime, and have the food consistently be this good. The waitresses are always friendly, pleasant, and efficient. You can tell they work hard, but they still take the time to make you feel welcome. Our food comes out quickly and hot, which is especially nice when you're hungry! And the food is just delicious. The portions are generous--definitely enough to leave you satisfied--and the prices are very reasonable. In a time when restaurant prices seem to keep going up, it's wonderful to find a place where you can get a really good meal, a generous portion, great service, and still feel like you got your money's worth. Blue Grill has that special local, hometown feeling that is becoming harder and harder to find. It's the kind of place you want to support because the people are friendly, the food is good, and you know you're going to have a good experience. If you're in High Springs and haven't tried Blue Grill, you really should! We highly recommend it and are happy to support such a wonderful local restaurant.

The menu is pretty standard for a diner style restaurant, with heavy emphasis in the morning for omelettes, then your usual burgers and other homestyle goodies in the afternoon and evening. I went for the Texas burger, asking for it to be cooked medium. What I got was more rare, bordering on blue. Not a good start. The fries that came with it were predictably SysCo style fries. No proof that they were actually provided by such, but they definitely had the style. Staff were friendly, and the seating at the bar was comfortable. Realistically, I don't see myself going back any time soon, unless a group of people invite me to go. It is a bit of a trek from Gainesville, so going specifically to eat there is not in the cards.
