Then there's the middle aged guy who is also very nice, and he's the one who does the repairs. They do auto glass and windows and probably anything else glass related. I went in to get a new windshield and they did it in about 3 hours. And when a piece of the plastic caulkish stuff that goes in between the glass and the car started coming up, I went back in and they were super sorry and fixed it in like 5 minutes. I recently returned home from a family reunion to find a bullet had made its way through the rear…read morewindow of my 1990 truck, shattering it before ultimately coming to rest in the back seat. I was shocked when the police officer who I filed a report with matter-of-factly told me that the bullet probably came from Detroit - more than a half mile south of my home. He hypothesized that someone had decided to shoot their 45-caliber handgun into the air. "What comes up must come down," he said. Nice, I thought. Even better was the fact that my insurance company would not cover this. I called around to several glass shops in the area. The model of my truck is not common in these parts, and compounded by its age, I was told by all shops that a special order would have to be made which would ultimately end up costing more than a decent fraction of the value of my truck. I was fortunate enough to channel my inner hillbilly and find a suitable rear window at a junk yard in Detroit. Side note: I 'spose I've finally earned my Detroit pass after driving to a junk yard with a bullet hole in my window. Being the complete criminal scam that car insurance is, my company would not cover it so I was in the game for the cheapest, quickest fix I could find. When I told the guys at Ferndale City Glass that I'd found a replacement window, they told me to bring it in and they'd install it for $65. The bottom of the replacement junk yard window was rusted out and they were actually able to salvage certain parts from the original window to make it all work better than new - in less than an hour. I was beyond impressed. So all said and done, my surprise lesson in trajectory and gravity only ended up costing me about $165 rather than more than $300 which is what I was expecting based on quotes I had received. This a great family owned business which has been in the area for more than half a century. They know what they are doing. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs glass repair done in the Ferndale area.

Despite the circumstances leading up to our having to seek their services, my husband David and I…read morehave had great experiences at Suburban Collision of Troy, and a lot of that is thanks to Mike Robenhurst, the service consultant we worked with. We took our Nissan in for repairs after a pickup truck hitch had backed into and wrecked the grill. A week later, I was side swiped on the freeway. To make matters worse, after we got that fixed, someone backed into it and tore off the bumper while it was parked. Oy vey. From the start, Mike was professional, clear, and super easy to talk to. He took the time to thoroughly explain the costs and procedures before, during, and after the repair--so we always knew what was happening and why. He kept us in the loop every step of the way, and even followed up after the jobs were done to make sure everything was good. That kind of communication and care really made a difference. Having never been involved in any auto accidents before, I don't have a price comparison. But we only had to pay our insurance deductibles, so I guess that's a good thing. What could've been a stressful, frustrating situation turned into a smooth and even positive experience. Huge thanks to Mike and the team at Suburban Collision. Highly recommend!

I have purchased tires through this chain before (the Troy location) and I recommend adding on their Freedom Plan, I believe it's called - It covers the tires up to a certain amount of time, I believe a few years.
