Florencio was very responsive from the get go. He gave me an extremely reasonable quote within a week or so of me reaching out. Overall our renovation project took about 2 months (that was for 2 total bathroom remodels plus taking out an entire wall, a new bedroom floor, and a kitchen backsplash). We took a 2 week hiatus for Christmas and new years and we only allowed one bathroom to be worked on at a time so we weren't without a shower or toilet. Our countertop install was referred out to a different contractor, and we didn't love that experience but that wasn't Florencio's fault at that point. We were responsible for buying all material (it's not included in his quote) but I preferred that. I felt like there was more transparency because I knew exactly where my money was going. We were able to get a much higher quality renovation for the price than we would've with the other companies we reached out to. Anything Florencio's workers had to buy for us was reflected and added to the quote. Otherwise we just paid for the labor. He charges as he goes (we paid a deposit and then paid per room basically). Our best experiences were with Greg doing tile and Raul doing plumbing. Also, his demo and flooring team worked super fast and were as well. We would definitely use Florencio again for home projects! While the workers show up at different times during the day, Florencio always responded very quickly to me when I asked him who was showing up and when. We love all the new work and our house feels brand new thanks to Florencio and his team!

I…read moreasked them specifically to attach it in such a way that it did not puncture the roofing, and they were careful to attach it at many points to the Trex without going all the way down to the roof. Before I got to Rodriguez Remodeling, I had contacted directly several other contractors, all of whom either replied that they don't do that kind of work or did not reply at all. Then I tried the Yelp "Request a Quote" feature for a likely contractor (who replied that they do not do that kind of work) but got a response in a few hours from Rodriguez Remodeling. The Request a Quote feature has an option to send your job description to competing contractors as well as the one you are looking at. I've tried this feature a couple of times and it has worked well. The owner, Florencio Rodriguez, came out the next day to inspect the job and sent me a quote a week later. After some negotiation I gave him the go-ahead, and he sent one of his worker out the same day to do the work. So overall I had a very good experience with this contractor. Their only drawback is that they seem very expensive. They charged me about $2,900 for the job, which took one person less than a day and a little bit of materials, which seems very high. On the other hand, I had been trying for several months to get the work done, so I was relieved to have it completed and done so well.

In July we had a major 40,000 gallon leak in our crawl space - a crawl space that had been…read moreencapsulated to meet LEED standards when built 8 years ago. The 20mil poly was now serving as a pool liner to the deluge of water that had occurred. In order to help move the water out, that liner had to be cut out and then the ground had to dry out before figuring out how to replace it. After contacting a few other companies, I met with Sebastian from HomeStrong. He walked through our crawl space (5' high) and determined how to best repair and get the place back to its original condition. We chose HomeStrong because Sebastian made us feel comfortable, showed us what we could expect and gave us a team who could get the job done the following week. And the pricing was very competitive. Also, it is a family owned company - having our own family business, we really like supporting other families with businesses too. We could not be happier with the results. The project took a little more than 3 days. The team - Daniel & Christian - took such great pride in their work that once the poly was installed, they took their shoes off every time to keep the ground clean! And the encapsulation is even BETTER than it was before. The products they use are top notch. AND the color is WHITE which makes everything look so clean!! A side note here: Not having had exposed ground under our home before, the difference in the humidity and coolness in the house was directly impacted by that exposed ground, even after drying it out for a month prior to reinstalling the encapsulation system. We had a difficult time getting the house to cool less than 73º. Once poly was replaced, the house immediately cooled down and was much more comfortable. Had no idea the impact the encapsulation had been providing! A big shout out and thank you to Sebastian, Daniel & Christian for helping us get our crawl space even better than before! I texted on May 23rd saying I had not heard from the technician. I never did hear from the technician, and no one came on the 25th. No follow-up from the company. On June 3rd I texted them again saying I had not heard from them, but we still wanted to do it. Rescheduled for Monday June 9th. On the preceding Friday they asked if we could move it to Tuesday the 10th. I said fine. On Tuesday morning they told me it would not work for them that day, and that they would knock $100 off the price in consideration of the repeated inconvenience and come on Wednesday, today, the 11th. Today, no show and no call. It is now 27 days after my original contact and this work has still not been done. I'm going to have to find someone else.

He didn't finish the last part of the project, which was not measured correctly, and once again, we have to finish something he started. He likes to blame his subs for anything that doesn't go right. The communication was terrible and often misleading. The only time we could depend on Don to check on the basement, was when he needed to get paid. The contract is super confusing on what's included and what's not. He was often very difficult to deal with and the invoices he gave us, were incorrect. He admitted to us that he under bid to win the job. We would NOT recommend him for a basement remodel.
