It wasn't awkward at all, and because you're seated at a table full of other people - i didn't stand out for not having a partner or group. They don't have their own space, so we rented out a room at Clutch Distillery. The even was inside, in a cozy room where they had all of our supplies set up for us on tables in little stations. There were 15 of us in the class, with 5 people at each table. The instructors were clear and gave you all of the information needed to have a successful cake building experience. The cakes turned out honestly so much better than I imagined, as I am no where near an expert! The class was just under two hours, and the girls packed up our cakes for us to travel home with. And yes, it was dug into as soon as we got home and was absolutely delicious. Great experience and would highly recommend

We decorated heart shaped cakes using the Houston Astros colors, how fitting! I never would have guessed that I would actually create a decent professional looking cake (IMO) but I've never been prouder. The directions from the owners ( two young women- that took the cake) was very easy to follow, they were both extremely helpful and left no man behind lol. I can't wait to join them at another event. Highly recommend

Parking is very tricky during peak hours but you can find neighborhood parking that is a bit further or go to the garage as they validate parking for you here. Staff is very friendly and there's a variety of delicious (and health-conscious) options on the menu! I was told that the most popular items are Leemoo Signature Bowl and Sweet Escape Smoothie. We opted for the Cacao Dream Bowl (acai bowl with peanut butter and cacao) and Sweet Escape Smoothie (tropical flavor) - both were beautifully presented and tasted so fresh. The good...this was probably the best avocado toast ive ever had and miss mama's is protein packed! I loved it. Cold brew was good standard issue coffee I would order it again. The bad...the parking in this area can be outlaw so plan accordingly. Now that chia seed pudding...awful, slimy and not flavorful. It grossed me out. I definitely will not be ordering that again. I came back the next day to try one of their smoothies I got the cacao beach with blueberry no bananas because I hate bananas. For $14 I didn't get the hype. It was $14 good. But I will be back for more avocado toast it was the best thing I ate from there.

Everything about this place screamed luxury. The service was excellent, there was minimal wait time despite the growing Friday night crowd, and the food was delicious! My only note is that I felt like the menu was limited.

Provare is a sexy provocative dining experience. The welcome champagne, the welcome rum punch, and…read morethe aleek design sets them apart. The food is amazing. The crab wonton eggrolls will make me drive there for those alone. The lamb was well seasoned. The alfredo was decadent, rich and buttery. I ordered the river oaks and it was perfect (a spin on the side car). The food and beverage 1000 out of 10. Now the negative 100 out of 10. What almost made my head explode. The transactional feel after you have ordered. It feels like they are rushing you. As soon as you are thinking about resting your fork the waitress is there to box your leftovers and give you your check. Yes the dining experience is 90 minutes and that is perfectly fine. However, the hostess approached our table 60 minutes after we received a text that our table was ready. Informing us that it was time to leave. Once we informed her we waited 1 hour for this table AND showed her the text and told her we would be finishing our conversation as we were within the time frame., she scampered off!!! Not before telling us there is another party that waiting an hour. So now that is the customers problem. Totally unprofessional and ruined a good dining experience. This alone could get you zero stars. Then the DJ smoked hookah and blowed the smoke all in my face. Multiple time. I did ask him to stop and he changed the direction of his exhale. Next I made reservations and it is $11+ dollars per person on the reservation. none of which is applied to your dining experience. Yep I paid $44 just to secure a reservation. PARKING is $20. Dont pay and the guy in the white truck will boot your car. I saw him. SO NOW I HAVE PAID $64 and have not stepped into the building. In fact i am behind the building in the parking lot. Top off all the fees we had a service fee applied to each check! The server informed us that was not her tip. So I had to pay over $110 and none of it was toward food or drink. I like the food... I hate the fees and being rushed unnecessarily!

Bar 5306, you got me (and my friends) good. Located on Washington Ave., close to many popular bars…read moreand clubs like Sugar Room, parking is not easy. There's metered parking on Washington Ave. A lot of the side streets don't allow parking Thursday through Sunday from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. unless you have a valid permit. I was trying to park around 11 p.m. on a Thursday evening, so that made things more difficult. I ultimately found free parking on a side street seven minutes away by foot, but it took a lot of effort. Ambiance (3.5/5): Bar 5306 is a Latin club on most nights it seems like. When I stopped by, there was a DJ there, but he was playing hip-hop instead. The music is loud, so this is the type of place where you go to dance. With it being a Thursday, there were only 15 people there or so. I imagine that's a different story on a Friday or Saturday night. There's a large dance floor, booths for VIP seating, table top seating, and a bar. If you want to get away from the music, there's also an outdoor patio. Which is where we hung out for the most part so we could talk. Service (1/5): This is where Bar 5306 sticks you. Upon entering, they have a list of 10 or so craft cocktails on the wall. Prices are not listed. I made the mistake of not asking for a menu and ordered from the wall. Rather than keeping my tab open, they close your tab upon each transaction (which is annoying if you order multiple rounds throughout the night). They also add 20% gratuity automatically. I understand that Washington Ave. is a popular party area, but how is this allowed in America?! Gratuity is based on service. It's a customer's right to decide how much to give based on the service they receive. An automatic 20% tip takes all of that out of the equation. To make matters worse, my buddy asked for a water for him and his girlfriend. They don't have water on tap and only offer bottled water at $5 a water for water from Costco. Talk about a nice profit margin for the business and sticking the customer yet again! My friends said they would never return. The policies are based on management, so I will say that the bartender who took care of me was efficient and took my order quickly. No complaints about her. There are also bottle girls here, though they were just hanging out when I arrived since nobody was there for bottle service. Food (N/A): I'm not sure if they have food since I didn't see a menu. Either way, I had dinner prior to stopping by. Drinks (3/5): My cocktail was solid for a club. It was $15 and then the 20% gratuity on top of that. It's just tough to enjoy your drink when you're dealing with these sorts of policies. When you arrive, they ask you for your ID and frisk you. Just overall, such a bad experience from a service experience that it makes it tough to enjoy any other part of the experience.

This is the brand new destination for Latin nightclub action on the main strip of Washington Avenue, where all the cool and sexy people go. Some of the most attractive people in the city come here, to this club, as well as Heart, and especially Bottled Blonde. This one is wildly popular, especially with a lot of the Hispanic crowd, and it's one of the loudest clubs. We like that it doesn't really have too many rules and seems a lot more enjoyable than a lot of the others. Astrid is our favorite bartender (for so many reasons), and we always go when she's there, but we also like several of the others. So many stunning and friendly employees at 5306, formerly Standard Bar. But the special shout out goes to Astrid, who's one of the most beautiful women in the world, and would have definitely won the bikini contest the other night (Barbi insisted that we go, she's the best gf ever) if she had entered it. So would Barbi, really. However all of the winners were great. Leonor, Karina and Monica came 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and they're all winners as far as we're concerned! Amazing bottle girls. This is Astrid, follow her and come and ask for her as your bottle service girl! https://www.instagram.com/theastridreverte/ Also a special shout out to the girl that does the signage out front, cuz she doesn't wonderful job with that, and it always has cool neon signs of various very appropriate messages such as Mexico or 5306 or whatever special day it is. Probably my joint fave club in Houston, and the often racist, always snobby hatred of this club just makes me love it more.

The parking was a bit of a challenge, but it was easy enough because it was a calm Tuesday morning. To get from the parking area to the store, you just take the elevator one level down, and then you're right inside. This place is surprisingly big, filled with all kinds of snacks, cookies, and coffee. The highlight for me was their shawarma breakfast wrap. It was top-notch and exactly what I needed. You choose between whole wheat or white pita, and it's filled with scrambled eggs, your choice of fresh or sautéed spinach, and they add potatoes as well. Then they top it with shawarma chicken, tomato, and a delicious sauce. For $8.5 it was worth every bite. Hands down, a five out of five. I also tried their coffee, which was just a standard brew sitting in ice for hours and nothing special. At $2.50, it was fine, but nothing to write home about. The real stars were the cookies. I got a coconut pecan cookie and an almond crunch cookie, and both were absolutely delicious. I didn't have time to explore the whole store, but there was a great selection of fresh produce, chocolates, and all sorts of small treats. Overall, the staff were really friendly, and the entire visit was smooth. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Five out of five stars!
