I have been to this office twice so far this year 2021. Previously I lived in California and had an…read moreexceptional dentist there who was an NYU graduate. So, I would like to preface this review with the fact that my standards have been elevated because of my previous care being outstanding. Dr. Vutech is also a truly exceptional dentist, every bit as good and possibly better than my previous dentist. The entire operation here is remarkably efficient and professional. I do not wait--at all. When the appointment time is set, the staff is ready at that time for me. This is unheard of in the business. My first appointment was a teeth cleaning that I needed badly as my teeth had not been cleaned in a couple of years and I knew something needed to be done soon. I called other offices and they wanted to book me months out. When I called Dr. Vutech a person answered the phone right away to my surprise. All the other offices I called had that recording where you wait until you hear the menu prompt that applies to your needs, which I do not like. Dr. Vutech's office got me in three weeks later, not three months. My hygienist took me in a few minutes early and was gentle yet absolutely thorough. My teeth had extra stains on them from coffee and tea and these were mostly all removed because of the extra time we had since I was taken in early. My x rays showed that my previous dental work was top notch and that my teeth were in good shape, but that some work needed to be done where there was wear between the tooth and the gum. Apparently Dr. Vutech could fill that wear space as a preventative measure to help my teeth to last. At sixty years old I want to keep my original teeth as long as possible, this saves money over time and prevents other issues from cropping up. Today I had the first of four appointments for preventive fillings (on the lower right) and they look great. Dr. Vutech matched the natural tooth color perfectly and it is nearly impossible to tell any work had been done, the teeth just look back to normal as if there was never any wear. My assistant was meticulous and diligent and most friendly and courteous. Dr. Vutech uses special magnifying lenses that he states emphatically improve his ability to see what "cannot be seen without them" thus amplifying his capabilities when he is in your mouth doing important work. I now know for a fact that I am in the hands of a truly amazing dentist. My procedure today was painless (novocaine) and efficient. I was in and out in about 40 minutes. Dr. Vutech and his entire staff are personable and friendly, they each spend time with you and go out of their way to make you realize that you are well taken care of. I could not ask for a better group of professionals. Thanks to Marilyn, Julie, Dawn and Dr. Vutech for the fantastic care and skill level that is superlative.

I did a variety of things including Invisalign and teeth whitening. I use him for my general checkups but the cosmetic work he did I am especially pleased with. He is in North Kingstown which is a plus for me.

I was fortunate to learn about Dr. Bob through word of mouth. I heard positive reviews of the…read moreMATTIOLI office from both previous & existing patients aged 10 to 60. They, like me, had the very best orthodontic experience & braces outcome ever!! My procedure began in January 2019. (Pre- Covid) I was so impressed with the professionalism & cheerful camaraderie of the MATTIOLI team. At that time 3-5 patients were seen in an open examination space; sharing transparent experiences. As an older patient I especially enjoyed seeing the young kiddos and mature adults all going through very similar orthodontic processes right next to me. I was able to complete my teeth straightening fairly quickly, in one year's time. I was given a retainer to wear and used it as directed. I may miss a night every now and again, but my teeth have benefited greatly and been able to hold their shape beautifully. Dr. Bob has a genuinely warm and kind manner and successfully puts all his patients at ease. A special shout out to Carol, Donna, Tracy, Jasmine and Rachel who always offered the most courteous professional care.

I've waited a long time to write this review because I didn't want it to come across as emotional…read moreor reactive. After several years of reflecting on my experience, I feel it's important to share. About five years ago, shortly after moving to East Greenwich, I received a flyer for Mattioli Orthodontics and decided to move forward with treatment without doing much comparison shopping. They recommended a system called 3M Clarity Aligners. At the time, most people I knew were using Invisalign, but I trusted their recommendation. Unfortunately, my experience with the aligners themselves was not great. The trays extended higher into the gum line and often had sharp edges from the molding process. They repeatedly cut the inside of my cheeks and were very uncomfortable. When I brought this up during appointments, I was told I could file them down myself if needed, which was surprising given the cost of treatment. The most concerning part of my experience, however, was my interaction with Dr. Mattioli. Several months into treatment, I came into the office visibly upset. I had recently moved my mother to Rhode Island into a memory care unit due to Alzheimer's and was dealing with severe insomnia. I explained that I was struggling to consistently wear the aligners because I was grinding my teeth and having a hard time managing everything. While I was in tears explaining this, Dr. Mattioli responded by raising his voice and saying, "If you're not going to wear the braces, what is the point?" and then walked away. I was left shocked and embarrassed. One of the dental hygienists later said something along the lines of, "I'm sorry, that really wasn't about you," which made it feel as though his reaction may have had more to do with his own frustration than my situation. That moment made me seriously question the environment within the office. What made it even more difficult was that Dr. Mattioli never acknowledged or apologized for this interaction. At my next appointment, he simply returned to a cheerful "Hey, how are you?" as if nothing had happened. That disconnect felt disingenuous and made it hard to trust him moving forward. That interaction completely changed my comfort level with the practice. After that, I avoided speaking with him altogether during visits. In addition to that experience, I also felt there was a lack of clear guidance around care. I was never clearly told that only one set of retainers would be provided, nor was I properly instructed on how to maintain them. At one point, I was advised to brush them with toothpaste, which I later learned can damage the material and harbor bacteria. I was never informed about better cleaning methods, such as using an ultrasonic cleaner. I have since transitioned my care to Frenchtown Dental, where I was re-scanned for Invisalign retainers and given significantly more thorough guidance, including options that accommodate teeth grinding. My experience there has been much more positive. I'm sharing this not out of anger, but because I believe patients deserve both quality care and respectful treatment. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Mattioli Orthodontics
