After weeks of planning a window renovation project with SilverLine's Vancouver representative, Marc Spiess, I was surprised and disappointed to learn at the signing stage that the cost increased by $8,500--nearly 30% more than the original quote. This last-minute disclosure caused significant frustration and financial inconvenience. Some key concerns from my experience: * Marc reviewed the Strata requirements and provided multiple quotes over several weeks. If any errors existed, I believe they should have been identified earlier instead of at the final signing stage. * There were delays due to assumptions made without confirming details. When I asked for quote adjustments to suit my needs, Marc requested a positive review in exchange for making changes. I removed my initial positive review after my overall experience did not meet expectations. * Marc's communication was sometimes condescending, especially when explaining technical installation details. * When I tried to escalate the issue, he was extremely reluctant to provide his supervisor's contact details, and discouraged me from pursuing further discussion of the matter since "you'll probably just be more frustrated by the result". After escalating to the general manager, Alice, I received a second quote that did not honor the original price. Discounts offered were mostly from government rebates, with minimal company discounts. Furthermore, when consulting another company, Centra, I learned some windows in the revised quote did not qualify for the rebates due to size requirements, potentially adding further unexpected costs. Due to these issues, I decided not to proceed with SilverLine. Based on my experience, I caution others to thoroughly consider their options and be aware of potential last-minute cost increases and communication challenges. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!! This review replaces our previous review due to a demand of removal which was made by Silverline's lawyer. The demand letter states that it was our intention "to embark on a campaign to damage SilverLine's business by posting hyperbolic and inaccurate reviews on many highly-visible websites". It was not our intention to "lower SilverLine's reputation in the eyes of the public which could cause serious and irreversible damage to SilverLine's business." Everything that was mentioned in our previous review can be backed up with written and photographic evidence. It was merely to express our experience in the installation of our windows so that others can have the benefit of learning from our mistakes. We would like to state that in our experience dealing with this company has given us sleepless nights and put such a lot of stress in our lives!!! This was largely due to miscommunication on both sides. On Silverline's side it was due to the inexperience of the salesman and on our side was due to our unfamiliarity with construction nomenclature. (This was agreed by all parties at a meeting we had on October the 9th, 2019 at Silverline's offices) We chose this company because their quote was the lowest and they had good reviews. One of the biggest mistakes that we made was not getting everything that was said and was promised written down or recorded. Make sure you understand 100% what you are getting. A lesson well learnt. On numerous occasions, we stressed both verbally and by email that the trim around our windows was to be removed. Only after installing the new windows, over the trim, were we informed that the trim could not be removed. In our, and our neighbors', opinion it made our home look like a haunted mansion. (See photo below, Picture 1 is before replacement and picture 2 is after installation) Since then we have chosen not to continue with Silverline and have removed the existing trim and replaced it with a vinyl border. The wooden trim that Silverline proposed was not acceptable to us because it requires high maintenance and it would not be in keeping with the rest of the house. In summary the lessons we learnt from this whole experience is to make sure everything is written down and recorded; ensure that the company fully understands what the clients want, and that the client fully understands what the company is offering. read more

We heard about SilverLine Exteriors from a friend who had good success with them and decided to give them a call a few months ago. Their senior estimator Marc Spiess came out quickly to give us a quote and went over all the options available, and described in detail the exact work that needed to be done to complete our project. I was impressed with the thoroughness of our meeting - nothing was left to chance with the quote, as opposed to another company I had who didn't bother to come out to measure and didn't describe in detail what was to be done. Once I compared the quotes I realized one of them had simply assumed we would do the painting of the door ourselves, which wasn't what we wanted. On install day a month later, Colin came out exactly at the time promised and completed the work seamlessly. The door looks great now and we are happy we chose to go with Marc and his team at SilverLine Exteriors. I would recommend them to anyone looking for doors, windows or siding. read more

Working at silver line exteriors has been the armpit of my pick up my career. They show you a few videos on YouTube and then expect you to be a fully experienced exterior installer dollar I got 6 and a 1/2 hours training. The company puts a lot of stress on the team leaders which makes the team leaders put stress on us if you want to give money to a company that does not appreciate their employees Then this is it. They require 12 hours notice for a sick day when talking to a pharmacist he said that was not always possible because you cannot tell the virus not to start working. They are also a very dangerous company to work for they expect you to go up on the roof with no proper fall protection I had forgotten my cigarettes and my relative had dropped them off and saw me not tied off on the roof I explained to her that it was either twas either that or lose my job they pretend like safety is 1st but it's not and when people complain they get their lawyer to take things down Basically censoring your freedom of speech. They make you sign a very specific contract as well that requires you to give a month's notice if you're leaving because so many people leave. read more

I do not recommend Silverline Exteriors. Poor Customer Service, Poor Installation, Poor Problem Resolution. In my opinion this company is severely lacking accountability and professionalism. I could go on and on with all of the problems encountered during our full house of windows, 2 glass door and main front door installation. I certainly hope that measures are taken on an internal level to ensure that other customers don't go through the same experience. read more

Don't WASTE your time and money. After 30 minutes the sales guy said he wasn't going to waste his time after I gave him my home number but didn't want to give him my cell number. I was offended but was showing him to the door calmly (biting my tongue) and as he left he said " thanks for wasting my time and gas". I am totally offended and will now take the time to share my opinion of this company. read more
