When I arrived yesterday, the White Horse announced that it was now a membership based non-profit business that will allow it to continue on indefinitely in service to performers and the community. One doesn't have to be a member but membership bring additional benefits depending on the level of participation. The performance was well attended, the music and acoustics outstanding, and the bar service appreciated. Just visit their website for info on upcoming shows and a breakdown of the new membership levels. This venue is definitely appreciated and supported by the community. It is worth a visit, contribution, and/or membership.

We stayed in Lotz Lodge, a beautiful modern facility set among the historic grounds -- the perfect balance of comfort and tradition, ideal for family reunions or gatherings of 12 or more. The lodges have everything you need, plus easy access to the incredible amenities on site and nearby attractions: the charming cafes and shops of Black Mountain, Asheville's vibrant scene and the Biltmore Estate, local apple orchards, and even tubing down the French Broad River.
