She took my information, Sue, at Bressi Ranch active care and gave it out without my permission. I'm not sure if I could trust this place with my family if I can't trust them with my phone number. I did have the feeling this was going to happen, I got a very bad feeling when she mentioned this place, and said I should call her. I wanted to say to her I would prefer not to. And you should not share my number. I just assumed that a place like this would take a persons privacy into consideration I was so wrong and I'm so annoyed right now. I texted Kathy Ellis back, and I said Sue should not have shared my number and to never contact me again. I also mentioned I was going to leave this yelp review because I was making private phone calls about my private life and my mom's private medical condition and she decided to share it with somebody with no permission. I am only prattling on because I am so freaking pissed.

The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and offers a warm, welcoming environment. Communication is another standout strength which provides great peace of mind for both families and care partners. In my role, I've also had the opportunity to collaborate closely with their team during residents' transitions back home with caregiving support. Their coordination during these transitions is outstanding, ensuring that residents and their families feel fully prepared and supported every step of the way. The staff is amazing and really is what separates them from others! It all started with Suzy (Marketing Director); she welcomed us in, made sure we had all the information we needed, talked us through the process, gave us several options, and treated my Mom like a normal person. She has continued to be part of the process, even after her primary role had been completed. The first person you encounter when you enter the facility is Yvonne, and she always meets you with a smile; it really gets your visit started on the right foot. Lori, the Executive Director, has stepped in and continued to welcome us, addressing all concerns and helped make the transition smooth. She is a joy to talk with and you know that her team is there for you. Cindy, the head nurse has been above amazing; her attention to detail with all aspects of Mom's needs has been awesome and continues to interface with us, the doctors, and the rest of the staff. Her and her staff keep us updated and really does put our minds at ease. The shining star has been their activities director, Penny. Having a mother with Alzheimer's/Dementia brought on some great concerns and worries for our family as my Mom struggled with her grasp on reality and coping with the world around her. One of our biggest worries was that Mom would retreat into herself, be lonely, afraid, and just not part of the real world. Penny has made Mom's life meaningful and enjoyable. Daily activities, outings, interaction with the rest of the residents, and just making those connections with others around her has really made the biggest impact. To see Mom smile and talk about how much she likes her new home is amazing! The facilities are new and well maintained, with excellent security and a support staff that is always welcoming and friendly. There is a nice porch where residents can sit in the sun, several different common rooms; one with a TV, another with a Piano, and a nice dining area as well. The rooms themselves are very nice and come with cable provided for the TV. Mom is in a private room, with a shared bathroom and small common area. I was able to put a full size bed, side tables, a dresser, and she has a decent closet to hang her clothes... more than enough for her. I simply couldn't be more pleased, and it is a huge relief that Mom is in a place that really cares.

That they are extremely understaffed. That there has even come a time when 1 caregiver had to work a whole floor themselves during the morning and evening shift. So therefore how is one person giving showers, feeding them , changing them and caring for them. I am being told my mom is sometimes not fed because they forget to feed her. They use the supplies that I buy for her like combs, socks and shirts and use them for other residents. They use my mom's wipes and briefs for other residents. That the staff does not use hoyer as they should be and sometimes one caregiver is transferring my mom who is not that skinny or lightweight onto the wheel chair and back for meals. I didn't think much because I barely am able to visit with my work schedule and so a I was told this by caregivers Mike the director is apparently cheap and does not provide enough supplies that even caregivers have to go without wipes or gloves. I will be calling the state licensing and have them come in the specific days and times the caregivers have explained to me so that they could see what's really going on.

I had heard glowing reports from friends over the years about Carlsbad By The Sea and thankfully I have found them all to be true. Recently, after a 5 day stay at Scripps Hospital, Encinitas, I was fortunate enough to be placed at Carlsbad By The Sea for continued care. Professional and consistent care... Efficiency... Cleanliness... Rooms with wonderful views... along with 5 star restaurant quality food... It's all true, but when all is said and done, it is the caring staff that you remember. Not a day went by that I didn't get a quick personal visit from Greg, the Director of Admissions to check that all was going well. Amazing! Sylvia Delarosa, the Director of Nursing met with my family to discuss my care plan and she followed up often. Sudha, the nutritionist visited me and took additional time to not only advise me as to healthy food choices, but worked with me on a program for the future. This was above and beyond all expectations. Dr. Mann was always aware of my progress and personally saw me every week. Many thanks to my Occupational Therapist Adaina with a heart of gold who worked with me daily to practice skills that I would need once I got home. I have such admiration for David in Physical Therapy who constantly encouraged me to work harder to become stronger each day. The walk to the beach was the highlight and a tremendous boost to my confidence, which helped prove to me that I could handle future challenges at home. I will never forget Janelle who always went above and beyond to not only help me with my daily needs, but who would follow up the next day to make sure that everything promised had been done. She became a caring friend. I appreciate so much the charm of Andee Erwin who not only provided daily group activities, but also took the time to visit each day and encourage my participation. My special thanks also to nurses Nancy and Salomy who were especially helpful and got me through some uncomfortable times. You cared about me and I am so grateful. Needless to say, I highly recommend this most exceptional Care Center. My sincere thanks to all.

Looking back, our family could not be more grateful for the care, compassion, and community they experienced. What sets Belmont apart is that it feels like a home, not a facility. From the front desk staff to the restaurant team, caregivers, nurses, and leadership, there is a genuine sense of warmth, joy, and respect that extends to residents and their families. My father often told us how grateful he was to live there and always referred to Belmont as "home." The staff truly knew and cared about my parents as individuals. Whether it was remembering my dad's favorite meals, supporting his faith, keeping him engaged through activities and Circle of Friends, or providing comfort and dignity during the final chapter of his life, their kindness was evident every day. Our father lived nearly five years after losing our mother and continued to enjoy a rich, meaningful life because of the exceptional care and community Belmont provided. Knowing he was safe, valued, and genuinely cared for brought our family tremendous peace. Entrusting your parents' care to others is one of life's hardest decisions. A Truly Exceptional Skilled Nursing Facility…read more Our family is incredibly grateful for the outstanding care my dad received at this skilled nursing facility. From the moment he arrived, it was clear that the staff genuinely care about their patients. Every nurse, CNA, therapist, and team member showed warmth, kindness, and a level of compassion that created a true healing environment. What really stood out is how committed they are to helping patients maintain a sense of normalcy and dignity. They encouraged my dad to keep a daily routine--waking up, getting dressed, and enjoying his meals in the dining room rather than staying isolated in his room. That structure made a remarkable difference in his overall mood and recovery. The activities they offer are wonderful and thoughtfully planned. From bingo and painting to live music and social events, they keep the residents engaged, active, and connected. It's clear they put their hearts into making each day meaningful. Bottom line: they go above and beyond. This is, without question, the best skilled nursing facility we have experienced. Our family cannot recommend them highly enough.
