I googled Hospice and came across MD Choice that had some good reviews. I had no idea who I was calling but there had to have been some divine intervention pushing me to this call and this company. After a few questions I received a call from Dr De Leon who was the most compassionate and caring doctor I have come across. He sensed my immediate need, came straight out to the house, assessed my mother and went himself to the pharmacy to pick up the needed medications. He knew the urgency and took it upon himself to do all the footwork. He obtained the needed comfort medication, stabilized my mother and allowed my mother to pass peacefully all within a matter of hours from making that initial call. When she did pass that evening, he again, arranged for everything from the pronouncing to the calls according to the pre-arrangements. Without MD Choice and the connection with Dr De Leon, I don't know how I would have been able to handle the situation. His immediate response on a Sunday, his Taking control of the situation and quick actions made such a difference in the final few hours my mother had. If you find yourself in a situation like this and needing someone to help in this time, I highly recommend MD Choice and Dr De Leon. I am forever grateful to MD Choice and Dr De Leon for acting so quickly and with such caring and love in this terrible time of need. Cheryl, the RN Case Manager, in particular, was a godsend. It was a huge relief to be able to rely on them so thoroughly from day one. They delivered everything we needed within hours of getting the paperwork done; and both Cheryl and an aide were there for the last few hours my brother was alive--providing support and care. I didn't leave this hospice for the mere fact that Karen was so good, kind and not only made sure my mom was comfortable as well as that we were doing ok. They only said there is no one to send. My sister finally told them she needs help and she will call 911. They told her she is not to do that. My sister didn't have a choice and called 911. My mother was on the commode at the time when they arrived. They hooked her up to a heart monitor. She evidently passed on the commode. My sister called vitas back and said she passed. They told her they will send a social worker. My sister said no not to do it. After afew hours vitas called wanting to pick up their bed. We said my mom was still.in the bed. We were waiting for the mortuary to pick her up. Afew days later vitas sent the nurse and aide to our house to take care of my mom. Apparently they were not told about her passing.

Every single caregiver was on time, friendly, and helpful in every possible way. We felt safe, cared for and supported in healing. The overnight caregivers allowed me to sleep and helped my husband with medications, bathroom needs and making sure he was safely in bed whenever he got up, or moved around. I had used their services for my mom in March 2023 when she had discharged from the hospital and…read morethey were good for round the clock care for a week. I hired them again in June but it took 3 tries for anyone to call me to get serviced reactivated. Staff had told me that Kaitlin would contact me - never did. To be honest, I was desperate and need home care services asap until I could get my mom into an Assisted Living facility. The first couple of caregivers were fine. I had lined up caregivers round the clock. There was one instance where my mom had to go to the ER for shortness of breath and was released later that afternoon. I called Comfort Keepers to make sure that a caregiver was coming later that evening. When the night caregiver did not show, I called and they told me that the caregiver was canceled because my mom went to the ER. No one let me know. I was livid and upset. They did find a caregiver short notice. Then one of the caregivers failed to change all of my mom's undergarments even though it was clear that she had an accident. So he basically left my mom in a wet pad and I had to change her. I honestly wonder if the caregivers have the proper training to help older adults who have various health issues. I would NOT recommend them to use for any of your loved ones. If your loved one needs round the clock care, I would recommend looking into respite care at Assisted Living facilities.

Do ANY of these people talk to each other? DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY! I would rate zero stars on here if I could!
