We started with puppy socialization classes with Colleen and were very excited to see how she interacted with the pups and their pawrents. She answered lots of questions others had about crate training, positive reinforcement and behavioral issues. We decided to put Storm into puppy obedience school so she'd learn how to interact and learn a few basic commands. She loved it! It took us a few classes to get her to be more comfortable but she's adjusted into a great dog and we know part of that is from the great training she received when she was only four months old. We also enrolled Storm into the intermediate course, because emergency recall was a concern of ours. Storm made lots of friends and enjoyed running around the classroom and drinking ALL the water! We also tried some one on one training with our older dog, a six year old Maltese with anxiety and leash aggression; but weren't able to really get to the root of the problem as every time we had Colleen over Jessie (our dog) acted like an angel! Colleen did give us some great tips on working with Jessie on leash aggression. If you're looking for some tips on training and obedience school for your furry legged children then we'd recommend giving Colleen and her team a call; we weren't disappointed and don't think you will be either. We've never used their dog walking service. So we can't speak to that.

Dog Tranquility and it's owner Colleen Dermott have truly been life savers for our family. Over…read moremany years and multiple dog training experiences, I can honestly say that our experience with Dog Tranquility and Colleen is the best we have ever had. She is very passionate about what she does and cares very much about customers and their pets alike. We have adopted dogs for years but two of our current pups were getting along so badly that they were having fights that drew blood. Since we adopt for life, giving one or both up was not an option. Colleen worked closely with our dogs and educated us as owners to address the issues. It was not easy but within only a couple of sessions Colleen had our dogs starting to peacefully interact and over time they have now become good friends. On the rare occasion when we have an issue, we now know how best to address both in the heat of the moment and afterwards to bring the two back together. I am hoping to continue working with Colleen to focus on additional basic obedience and training and to continue to address some lingering behavioral issues. I don't write a ton of reviews, preferring to only write when I have extraordinary experiences and this is one such case. I highly recommend Dog Tranquility; Colleen's experience and training far exceeds usual obedience & training options and the outcomes have been far more meaningful & longer lasting than other options we have tried.

I contacted Wags 4 Walks on Wednesday about cat sitting for an upcoming vacation 1 month from now…read more Explained my situation to Brian, my need for cat sitting (20 min visit every 2-3 days), and provided my address. He said I was just a bit out of their service area, but he could make it work based on our flexibility with days. We scheduled the initial meetup on Saturday, and he says he's right outside. I text him because no one is on the driveway, and even send him the address again. He texts back that he thought no one was home (2 cars in the driveway and I confirmed we were home just 20 min before). And he cancels saying we are 30 min away from his farthest client. Randomly, he texts me 3 images of dogs and cats for no reason. With today's technology, he could have Googled my address and known the distance from me to his next client without having to drive it. I can understand if we were located way outside of his service area, but either the service map is out of date, or Brian just doesn't care to be professional about declining service. He should have notified us with a phone call instead of a random text message 10 minutes after our appointment saying, "It didn't look like anyone was home.". It seems professionalism and courtesy are seriously lacking for this company. I would not recommend Wags 4 Walks to anyone since Brian was not honest with us in any way.

We were in need of a pet sitter for a day since we would be out for several hours and felt guilty living our Goldendoodle, Winnie at home by herself for a majority of the day. Winnie also got along with her two Golden Retrievers, Blue and Watson and was worn out all day from playing with them so much since they all shared the same energy level. Brittney is insured and bonded (always an important factor!), and all of her services include: time stamps, GPS tracking, report cards, and updates through photos! Her pricing is competitive for the area and she also offers new client and referral discounts. Brittney has been there every step of the way in my doggo journey - literally from the beginning! She was a wealth of dogmom knowledge and helped me navigate the crazy-scary-wonderful life adjustments I went through during the adoption process (shoutout to Lost Dog & Cat Rescue!). It gave me HUGE peace of mind knowing I could rely on Blue Paw if something ever came up at work or if I had to go out of town. She keeps me up-to-date on pretty much everything that happens, when it happens (including "report cards" - see attached photo!). I'm going to call it like I see it, because I live it - as a milennial professional in the NoVA area, I want to "have my cake and eat it, too" - I want to kick ass in my career but I also want to have an adorable furbaby and take care of him way better than I take care of myself. I don't want him home for 8+ hours a day without a good break. If I can't make it home for a midday walk myself, I know Brittney is able to save the day. I trust her completely - Cooper (my doggo) absolutely loves her, so much so that sometimes I worry he loves her more than me! But I have to admit that if he does, it's because she totally deserves it. Sidenote: I'm a brand new doggo owner, first time ever, and Brittney knows exactly how to make me feel better while I'm somewhere else feeling guilty I can't walk Cooper myself. She sends me plenty of photos and videos (once we even videochatted while I was overseas and homesick for my puppy!). This is also the perfect time to note that Brittney should maybe think about running a puppy photography shoot side gig, because her photos are basically professional quality. I'm just flabbergasted every time I open a new message and see Cooper looking like a model (see attached photo as proof!). It always puts a smile on my face when I get a message from Blue Paw! I am a loyal customer through and through.

Kim's still provides a wonderful service - the employees seem to actively care about my dog, and I receive daily email reviews of the walks. Recently, however, prices have increased (they are still within normal limits for dog walking in this area, but no longer the great deal they once were.) There has also been a fairly substantial shift in attitude. Kim's is no longer accommodating to changes in schedule, and the warm, friendly tone I'd come to expect in communication with Kim herself has disappeared. I still absolutely trust Kim and her staff to care for my dog, and plan to continue using their service, as my dog truly likes the people who walk him. I am sad to have to update my glowing review, but with the recent changes, they are not what they once were. Original Review: Kim's has been walking my dog for two years now. Their rates are incredibly reasonable. Kim herself is wonderful, and made time to come see me 'off hours' to meet me and my dog - she was also the only dogwalker I could find in the area who was willing to work with an at times aggressive dog (every other company I contacted immediately said 'no, we don't do that.') My dog, who is very shy and scared around new people, took to her immediately, and was loving on her within about ten minutes. At first, she walked him exclusively, since he did so well with her. I was nervous when she asked if she could try him with someone else, but it went very well. I think there are three different people who walk him now, and he's never had an incident with any of them. She is thoughtful and accommodating - I'm a teacher and she is very understanding when I need to reschedule or cancel last minute due to sick days or snow days. The people she hires are high-quality and I feel so comfortable leaving my dog in their care (I've had very negative experiences with boarding other animals with other conpanies before, but I never worry when he's with Kim.) I really can't recommend them enough - they will look after your pet as though s/he is their own, they are professional and responsible, and leaving my dog in Kim's gives me such peace of mind.
