If I could give them zero stars, I would. I shopped at Silver Tulip by Vivaah for my wedding and it was a complete disaster. I paid a lot of money for a customized outfit. Ordered in June for a September delivery date. When the outfit arrived, it had a ready-made number tag on it and was a completely different color than the one I selected. It was not fitted to my size. With less than 2 weeks left until my wedding, I had to take it as is. What is worse is that they wouldnt admit or fix their mistake. I was given back less than 10% of what I paid to "compensate me" after having to argue about it with them. The only other option was to pick a show room piece and wear that. I dropped thousands of dollars at Silver Tulip and have bought a total of 3 outfits, but they still completely refused to work with me on this. My wedding day was ruined and they did not have enough decency to try to make it better. The whole reason I chose to go with them was because I wanted a custom design and color. In the end, I did not get a custom fit, nor did I get a custom color. I did not match the groom, any of my jewelry, any of décor or bridesmaides...and I am frankly so disgusted with their customer service and with the with all the money that were wasted on photography because of how ill fitted and mismatched this whole thing came out. read more

I have shopped here for 20 years. So, decided to trust them. I should not have - for my daughter's wedding, every single timeline they gave us was not met. Her father's order was both late. And the outfit was not what I ordered. Luckily, I have a photo of what was ordered. I am going there and requesting a full refund. These Indian vendors are liars. And, yes, the tailor raises his price if he eyeballs you and thinks you will be able to pay. Use another tailor. read more

UPDATE: Got my dress ON TIME. Everything was perfect and exactly as we ordered. The tailoring! They got my measurements exactly right!! We are so happy with the dress, it's breathtaking and beautiful and exactly what we wanted. The train is gorgeous and the stones are very sparkly. We picked up the dress early and the sales women told us to come back in October for any final fitting adjustments (tailoring is included) before my wedding in November. When I first came to Vivaah to find bridal outfits for my Hindu wedding ceremony, Chandni Kakar was incredibly helpful in not only helping me find two different outfits, one being already stitched and readymade. But she also helped me brainstorm a way to custom stitch a bridal lehenga for the main event. I believe both Vivaah and Silver Tulip are owned by the same people so it was great to have two different stores as a variety for selections. I showed her and her colleagues photos of how I would like my bridal lehenga to look and chose the color and aspects from the other dresses they had there, and paid upfront not knowing at all how the dress would look or how it would come out. I went to pick it up 3 months later and it was absolutely perfect and royal. For a dress that I haven't even seen before, they really listened to my needs and created a beautiful outfit that looked incredibly royal and gorgeous. The second time I went here to pick up my dress, I went with my maid of honor. Neil Kakar helped us by letting us know that they are creating a more organized system for custom designs and that they want to continue to help people like me who have custom needs, find the perfect wedding dress of their dreams. The team here is incredibly nice, thoughtful, and careful with everyone's individual needs and wants! Neil also helped my best friend and maid of honor who is not Indian, understand the concept of a saree, how it is tied, and the materials needed in order to tie a good saree. One thing I will say is that I do hope they begin to also create a more organized system to call people back when the lehengas are ready. Worst experience ever!! We spent over $6000 for clothes for my daughter's wedding outfits and they managed to get every single order wrong.  All the measurements were wrong and the shop keeper first argued it was correct until she finally acknowledged that there was a mistake.  My top was almost 2 sizes too big.  How can they get every single measurement incorrect is beyond me - we did all measurements in their store! On top of the measurements not being correct, they had mistakes on EVERY order.  The shopkeeper will argue with you that it is correct until you physically go there and point out the mistakes.  The pants we ordered for my son in law did not match my daughter's lengha.  My dupatta clashed horribly with my lengha.  They did not customize it like I liked and did not use the same color gold as the lengha. They kept promising to send the right dupatta and "not to worry" but refused to send a picture or tracking information so I doubt they did anything to correct the mistake. They kept telling me it was being corrected and a new dupata will ship and nothing showed up.  Because of them, I did not have the wedding pictures I wanted for my daughters wedding and what is more appalling is that they truly do not seem to care that they were ruining a wedding.  This lack of understanding for a bridal shop on how their negligence is impacting a wedding I think is unconscionable. Their customer service is horrible.  They will not return phone calls and refused to pick up the phone so I had to dispute all the charges with the credit card company and reported them to the better business bureau. Quite possibly one of the worst businesses I've ever dealt with. Long story short, after months of assuring me that my wedding reception dress would be ready and to my specifications, my reception dress turned out to be absolutely nothing like how we had numerous discussions on how it should look like. I mean, I actually even emailed Mr. Kakar pictures of sample dresses. After driving to Edison (over an hour each way for me by car) no less than 4 times for "alterations" I finally had to request of a refund. Mind you, this is a MONTH before my wedding. The owner actually had the gall to offer me store credit in lieu of an actual refund. Store credit! I CAN'T EVEN. After much conversing (read: my hindi speaking friend having to cause an unnecessary scene at the store while he pointedly ignored us for over an hour), he finally grudgingly wrote me a check. Truly a terrible business with no concern for customer satisfaction. read more

Overall, he had reasonable prices, and I'm not the type of person to sit and bargain for ever - so I just told him straight up what I was willing to pay for a serious sherwani for my wedding, and he met me at the price. He also had his tailor fix another one of my sherwani's for a modest price. Called me a couple times to confirm prices and what not. Pretty straightforward and honest business man. Silver Tulip did a outstanding job for our special day. We had all the bride's and groom's party outfits purchased from Silver Tulip. What I loved the most about Silver Tulip is they did customization to your preference. They did an amazing job on my bridal dress and reception outfit, which were custom made and came back perfect as I had imagined. Also my fiancé, at that time, his sherwani was also customized and it was breath-taking. Jayshreeben, the one person who took care of everything for us is a great person with great insights on what color, fabric etc goes well together. They do a fantastic job but for perfection requires time. I recommend giving them enough time so alterations if needed can be done accordingly. The owner and his family is super friendly which is nice to see when you go into any family store, especially if it's for a very important cause like a wedding. Overall I loved my bridal sari and reception dress, amazing job!! We would like to thank Silver Tulip for doing a fabulous job on outfits for the bride, groom, bridesmaids, groomsmen, and immediate family of bride and groom (literally everyone). This bridal store has been one of the best places I have ever shopped for Indian clothes for my whole family, the employees including the owners are so welcoming and helpful,they are honest and give you the right suggestions. I compared the prices at various different stores on oak tree RD and found this place to be one of the reasonable places with good quality clothes. I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs beautiful and reasonable priced clothes with excellent customer service and on time deliver especially when I ordered clothes during the pandemic and still got my clothes on time. read more

Had a terrible and completely unprofessional experience here with a custom bridal order and ready made tailoring and would not recommend at all. Hard to believe they've been in business for as long as they have, but I think their good customer service is reserved for people who spend thousands of dollars there - they seem very elitist. - Big selection of dresses and they are beautiful, but overpriced - I'd recommend Fashion Queen or Miss India for better prices. Nazranna's prices are higher, but their customer service is better. - Tailor is sloppy, unprofessional, rude, and his charges are extremely high and the store takes zero accountability for this work. If you get a dress here, I strongly recommend going to another tailor. For reference, he wanted to charge $110 for blouse and skirt fitting - I went to another tailor 5 mins away who did it for $20. - They lied about every single timeline they gave me. I called to confirm my alternations were complete - they said yes - I go in two weeks later and no one can find the dress and they finally realize it is still at the tailor's and alterations weren't even started. He rushed through 1 of 3 alternations needed and and gave it to me and said he lost my measurements for the other alterations ... and somehow that was my problem? Without even an apology. Unbelievably rude behavior. And the 1 alteration he did was sloppy, which I wasn't surprised about since he did it in 15 minutes, again, zero integrity in his work. read more

Worst experience ever!!!!! Anil assured me over and over that my lenga would be ready for my best friends wedding, even after I expressed my concerns for it being ready in time, since I have had bad experiences in the past. Initially he was so nice to me, sad with me for 2 hours discussing the suit design. And low and behold 2 days before the event I get a phone call saying it was not going to be ready (after not answering the phone for 2 days of me non stop calling). And the 2nd suit I had also ordered came in but was 3 inches shorter than it was supposed to be. They did give me my money back but Anil didn't even have the courtesy to look or even talk to me to my face. Or even apologize for the inconvenience. I ended up buying another suit from Long Island, nicer than the one I ordered from him and Half the price. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE GOING HERE FOR ANYTHING!!!!!! read more

I have reason to believe any good review on here is done by family and friends of the owner because this is the worst and most awful experience I have ever had with a clothing store in my life! First- ordered clothing back in October and it is now almost May and it is not finished yet. Second- went back to pick up back at beginning of April and the outfits we had picked were not what we ordered yet they insisted that is what we had even though out of the 5 other people we went with everyone agreed that is not what was purchased. Third- 6 months later they can't answer and tell us when to expect our wedding clothing. This is an outrage and the business owner gives Indian's a very bad name and puts shame on the whole community. Your prices are too high for the shit material you use...and don't lie about you owning factories. You don't. I had you checked out in India. Next step is I am reporting you to the bureau of better business. Hope you shut down very soon. read more

They have a great selection and all of their bridal outfits are a custom order. The outfit will be made to your measurements and will be brand new, but keep in mind this process takes 12 weeks. The employees are super friendly while you are trying on outfits, but once you say you need some time to think about the purchase, their rage comes out. I'm talking about angrily throwing measuring tape on the ground kind of rage. Their selection is unique, but customer service also means something to me. There's too many other options in the area to return to this place. I'll be taking my brides elsewhere next time. read more

Went here at the end of May to purchase my wedding outfits. I'm from Texas and specifically flew into NJ to search for my outfits instead of going to India. I'm sure glad I did! I did go to a few stores to compare prices, choices, and quality. I found silver tulip to be my favorite store and ended up purchasing all 8 of our groomsman outfits (with kurta, shoes, and turban) custom made, my garba outfit, and wedding outfit. I am very picky, and knew I made the right choice once I received it. Jaishree was very helpful and wanted to make sure I was a happy customer. Although there was a delay in the shipment of my clothes, the end product was great. I would suggest providing at least 2 months to order and get the clothes delivered if you are out of town. Didn't get a chance to "check in" it was running late to there closing time. But I had to say.. I think we found this place harder to bargain but I didn't get mad I actually still bought what I wanted. She flat right gave us her lowest number and I really thought I was a great deal with out the bargaining.. And it was worth it even at the price anywhere else! The customer service is great and even while they were busy.. I felt I was getting attention while shopping for my little one. It was gold choices.. Nice designed and flat right strong business women. I was overall happy with the service! To come back here and at most of the other store many more times! We knew what we wanted, and they said if they didn't have exactly what we wanted they could custom make anything for us. Chandni helped us choose outfits for my fiancé, his brother, and sister. On initial consultation the business seemed reliable, accommodating and timely. This did not turn out to be the case after now working with them for 5-6 months. I ordered my bridesmaids dresses, my dress and my mother's dress from this establishment. I can forgive the wrong size and cut for my mother's dress and the wrong color for my bridesmaid dresses (yes, both were done incorrectly and the bridesmaid dresses arrived 2 months late!), but I cannot forgive mistakes with my dress! The process with Silver Tulip was extremely frustrating and gave me additional stress that I didn't need the weeks prior to my wedding. After messing up the colors of my bridesmaid dresses the establishment promised me a detailed photo of my dress so I could cancel my order in advance. They promised me this for several weeks and it never happened. They never called me back when I called them and ultimately told me I needed to come to New Jersey to pickup the dress without a photo. I even had to get my fiance involved because the owner wouldn't call me back! The owner would put one of his workers (who kept giving me false information) to call me back and "deal" with me. When my fiance got involved, the owner started calling be back and got the dress delivered. The dress does not fit the specifications I sent to the store!!!!! I sent repeated emails with the style of the blouse, the colors, etc. They told me they will send me fabric and I can get it stitched elsewhere. Still no fabric. This establishment was so inappropriate, I couldn've went to a bridal boutique and spent over 2000 and gotten 5 star service with custom alterations. It is horrible they treat brides like this. I bought my wedding lengha choli from here. The first three times (buying, picking up, and 1st alteration), everyone was very attentive, helpful and kind. They do have a beautiful selection, so I was excited. And I had gotten a good price. I am giving them 2 stars for 3 reasons: 1. When I picked up my lengha choli, the top was not what I had ordered. I had wanted cap sleeves, but that was not done. At least it was at the length I wanted. I chose to not make a deal of it and take it anyway because we were ending up having a May instead of Fall wedding. No big deal. I had also asked for some of the rhinestones on the skirt to be removed for the weight and was assured it could be done; the skirt ended up having all the rhinestones, but again I chose to not worry about it and make a plan B for dancing. It wasn't the end of the world for me. If those details matter to you, just be aware. 2. When I came to get my dress from alterations, they first had trouble finding it in the shop. When they did find it, it had been kicked under a rack of dresses: the dent from the kick was still indented in the bag itself. I had to insist to try it on and was being ignored. No one checked if it fit right, no one would talk to me or acknowledge me at all. There were a ton of issues with the alteration being poorly done. It was obviously done with someone with dirty fingers as there were smudge marks everywhere and a small red stain (looked like blood) on the front. An entire panel of rhinestones were missing from the bottom portion of the front and parts of the copper coil details were uncoiled and sticking out. Other rhinestones were missing completely as well, and basting thread remains were stuck between the lining and the tulle overlay. They would not look at me, speak to me, anything when I tried to bring it to their attention. After about 15 minutes of standing right behind the salesperson talking to her and being ignored, I ended up packing up my dress and leaving. It took me about 3 hours to fix my own dress with craft store materials. The alteration itself was also poorly done: if all they were going to do was sew a new seam without taking apart linings or trimming the seam allowance, I could have done it myself. 3. Customer service after the initial buying and pick up: No one calls to let you know if your dress is ready. You need to track and remember when they said you could come by. When I went to get the dress for the last time, they handed it to me and expected me to just leave without trying it on. I insisted on trying it on and no one checked on me nor acknowledged me when I tried to get their attention about the issue I mentioned above. I said bye 3 times when leaving and no one looked my way: there was only one other person in the shop at the time, so it was very rude. I will admit that the last 2 times I was there, Jayshree was not. Jayshree did treat me very well when I interacted with her. The gentleman who works there was also very good when I went for my fitting, so I was not anticipating the treatment the last time. Everything up until that last day was an overall good experience, but it sounds like it happens frequently based on other reviews on the internet. read more

We are really disappointed with Silver Tulip. They really messed up our order. I ordered a lacha to wear on my daughter's wedding. We got the order delivered to our house and we were very disappointed and surprised to see that the color we ordered in their shop and the piece we received were not even close. They took authority to change the color by themselves without the need of asking from us. When we called to complain they don't want to admit their mistake and do anything about it. They wouldn't pick up any calls or respond to our emails. You will be lucky if you get your order right but if not, like in our case - then you are doomed. This business is not totally legit - We will report them to better business bureau. I would not recommend anyone to do business with Silver Tulip as long as it is under Anil Kakar's management. He will like to sweet talk to you get your business but once you have paid the money he would not care. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS BIG ZERO. NOT RECOMMENDED AT A LL! read more

My mom bought her dress for my wedding here. She got it custom made, and when it came in, the blouse was too short and the color was too dark. Amazingly, they were able to get the whole dress remade in time for the wedding -- the lighter color is much nicer, and the owner delivered the new dress to my parents' home. Jayshree was amazing!!! I love my lehenga! They were super easy to work with. Everything came out perfectly I sent an email picture of the changes I wanted and everything came out perfectly. My lehenga came in early; I only needed minor alterations. Since we drove in from DC they completed the alterations within the hour. Horrible staff and owner... despite of the fact my sister got her bridal outfit my husband got his Shervani he fought with me that why did I not buy anything from him.. each time I accompanied my sister she saw her bridal options n number of times and landed up buying one. When I went to his shop for my shopping I did not like anything so I dint buy anything for myself. My husband liked a shervani and he went to try. when we was in the changing room the owner Anil says his Worker ' Apne baap ki dukaan samjhi hai kya? He was not aware my husband was in the changing room (Trying the outfit) when my husband got out he was upset as he heard the owners brutal words but he still was willing to pay the price of the shervani and dn't tell me a word and we left. At home he told me the entire episode and I got mad that after soo much why the hell we had to buy anything from his shop.. after a week or so I went to his shop again with my husband to collect his customized shervani and the owner Anil got over me by saying that I dint buy anything from him and saw soo many pieces... so excuse me, firstly it was not me but my sister who saw the pieces and secondly even if I did that's his job to show me stuff and he cant misbehave with me for not buying.. The best experience I have ever had..My wedding is coming up and I was getting crazy on buying unique reception dress. I drove my entire family crazy to the point that my parents might disown me (Exaggerating LOL) Then I walked into the Silver Tulip. I checked few outfits and decided to try 2 of them. After wearing second one I did not even think twice. I bought at the same night. The price, quality and uniqueness was just great. I gave order of that dress with little modifications and then came home. Started having double thoughts about my own decision (we all gals are like that). And I was little worried about how it will turned out because I read some negative reviews. Finally, I just got my dress last weekend.,.and it was BEAUTIFUL...better than what I expected..I did not feel to take it out at all...I asked to do some changes in my dress...and they all are so PERFECT..
