I had a burger and it was super good, as well as the fries, it came out quickly and was nice and hot! The service was great, everyone checked on me as they passed by. Enjoyed a wonderful stay at the property this weekend. We showed up very late and had to call the owner for assistance. She's answered right away and handled it without hesitation. We stayed in the loft cabin. (I can't recall all the names). It was so cute and charming. Kind of a small room and definitely no more than two people. The decor was just adorable and the tub was the right fit for the tiny cabin. Had a restful sleep and enjoyed a very delicious breakfast the next morning. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They go out of their way to make sure you are happy. There's a small western themed "town" at the back of the property and I can only imagine how cute a wedding would be here. Beautiful water features also available on the property. Definitely recommend and would go back. read more

WARNING!!!! DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!! I had my wedding here 12-09-23.I will never recommend this place to another person, although the venue is beautiful! The owner & staff are absolutely terrible! I've attached pictures of the "professionalism" and the way the owner of this venue runs her business. I wish I would ve fully read the reviews before signing! The owner made my day a nightmare! Not to mention the food put the sick in silver "sickamore". The food made over half of my guest SICKK!! The day of the wedding! We paid extra to arrive at the Bridal Cottage at 9 am. I park the car close to the bridal cottage to unload some heavy heavy boxes, as the parking lot is not close to the bridal cottage. When Jackie's Husband (the owner) rudely shouts at me "YOU CANT PARK THERE." I then walk up to the cottage, where I was greeted with the fact that the ac was out! It was so hot inside! The bridal party was all abt half naked trying to get hair and make up done, while men were running in and out of the house and Jackie's husband sat on the porch. My coordinator came inside 2 times! Total to check and see how we were doing and if we needed anything. She then left for 3 hours to "change clothes and eat lunch" My photographer had to coordinate my wedding just to make sure my pictures turned out okay! She She was asked by the photographer 3 times to place garland around one lantern and the coordinator couldn't do that, or move the chairs for the ceremony even with the center of the room. My photographers did that too. Jackie (owner) was rude and sarcastic to my guest after my ceremony. Which I was told by multiple of my guest. Jackie (owner) then walks up to my husband and taps him on the chest and says "you have 30 mins to clean this place up" and they didn t help. The Dj was terrible and rude as well! Jackie(owner) called me names to my bridal party and to my family members. If it wasn't for my husband and the wonderful guest I had, Jackie and her coordinator would've ruined my wedding completely! If I could leave 0 stars I would! I brought a group of 21 for breakfast at her cafe the Sunday after the wedding. They didn't serve half of my guest food that morning. When we all ordered at the same time. Then when asked why they didn't receive their food, we were rudely told that our "order had been canceled and we could just go" and the "manager" of the cafe shooed us with her hands. Jackie (owner) then proceeded to tell my grandmother she thought it was "rude and disrespectful to bring that many people to her small cafe' ... mad that I brought you paying customers? This place is a joke!!!! Don't not book here. You will receive more welcoming service at any other venue other than this one! Please enjoy your wedding where you are welcomed and treated like a human not just like a I'm sure I'll get a snarky remark from her on this comment, as she has done to who have had horrible experiences at this venue. I love this place I'm a fan of breakfast and brunch anyway and I really appreciate things that I wouldn't necessarily fix myself at home. I am totally in love with the Elvis, which is French toast with peanut butter and bananas foster Yum. The Benedict is wonderful as well and my husband who is a hamburger aficionado said that the regular hamburger was really really good and cooked correct correctly to order., He's a medium rare guy. Bad experience from the get go. First, the photo on AIRBNB didn't show the long steps to get to the room, only the short steps. We get there and can't find the room. It's hotter than hell outside. AIRBNB even said which I have in writing, that there was misinformation in the listing. I told the owner I couldn't do the stairs so she put us in the yellow house. Horrible musty smell and the room was hot and stuffy. I have COPD and asthma I couldn't breathe. We had to leave after 5 hours. Not only am I not getting my money back, but AIRBNB is still taking money out of my account without authorization. Awful!!! This place looks like it is a country setting but it isn't! All you hear is rap music and road noise! The cabin smelled awful. They didn't bother to contact us in advance and let us know there would be a big company picnic while we were staying but would only give us a 1 night refund because WE didn't cancel 3 days in advance! Brought my mother for a midweek Mother's Day lunch. This was not my first visit. As always, I enjoy the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant. I have had the pleasure of dining outside and inside. Service was attentive and never had an issue or problem. I ordered the Tex-Mex Migas and mother ordered the Grilled Turkey and Spinach Panini. We were both pleased with our dishes and the flavors. The service during the event was good. However the food was a little disappointing. The chicken croissant sandwhich was mostly bread and a little bit of chicken salad. I am in the middle of my stay at The Prairie Willow cabin and absolutely LOVE IT!! The cabin is well-appointed in an old West style and is super-comfy! The property is a beautiful and well maintained old West town in a little landscaped Prairie with lovely fountains and Visages. I have been to the Silver Tea Room for the complementary breakfast (huge and delicious) and lunch (chicken & dumplings and a Chardonnay) and would eat there even if I weren't a guest. My server was very friendly and attentive. If I was in the market for a wedding venue I would book the full property for a weekend without hesitation because of it's uniqueness and quality. We had a nice Valentines weekend at the Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite which was very cute. Unfortunately, we arrived on the weekend before the big snowstorm so we stayed inside because of the cold. That wasn't a problem but we did miss out on the pleasure of walking the property. I'm only taking a star away because the television was broken; there was a huge crack or glitch on the bottom right hand portion of the screen. It would have been nice to have a warning ahead of time, but we made the best of it. We ended up just bingeing Netflix on our phone. The complimentary breakfast was delicious! Was there recently for an event and the food that was served was sub par. Temperature on all items were not at optimal level. Buns were hard, crunchy and dried out. Hamburgers were over cooked and dry, French fries were limp and cold. The staff was attentive. For the amount of money that was paid and could not even take the leftovers home, it seems to me that we could have at least had fresh and correct temperatures. read more

My best friend was married here recently. It was a small and intimate wedding and it turned out even more beautiful than I could have imagined. There were so many great areas for her to get beautiful pictures taken. The coordinator was SO thoughtful and her main priority was the bride. Making sure what she wanted was executed while keeping her calm and collected. The food was absoultely delicious and the waitstaff was very polite. The quaint reception in what I assume was the tea room (perfect for the 20 people we had)ran over the expected time but nothing was mentioned by the staff, they just let us continue on having a wonderful time. All in all, we had a great time and the bride and groom left happy and that's what matters most! read more

Pretty good Lack of communication between employees there and being given false information was extremely frustrating. Paying just under two grand for 50 people I figured the service and food would have been well worth it. I was very wrong. The food quality was okay but the amount was disappointing, pretty overpriced for such small amounts. The venue itself was beautiful. We kept having people from other events come into ours because staff wasn't there to let people know there was currently an event going on so that was really annoying. The serving staff were just a couple of kids. After waiting about 45 minutes and not seeing one server in sight I had to literally go find them in their "employees only" room so that could cut and serve our cake. Then when they cut it, it was a disaster. I figured paying the price that we did we would have been given adult servers that actually knew what they were doing and didn't have to be looked for. A hair was found in the artichoke dip by one of our guest, that was extremely embarrassing. It was a good sized hair too, not like a tiny piece of hair. Overall, the venue itself was beautiful but the service and experience was not. Never using this place again. read more

We booked 2 of the cottages for a week-long trip to visit family. We booked these based on the free daily breakfast and the location was very close to where our family lives. Imagine our dismay when we arrived and found we wouldn't receive a "delicious homemade breakfast" as promised on the website, but a danish and coffee at the coffee shop a block away. Okay, we can roll with that.....but the employee working the coffee shop didn't know anything about this arrangement so we missed out on breakfast for the first 2 days. Strike 2 came when we checked out our cottages (the Victorian Tulip and Rustic Oaks) and realized they were glorified shanties. The showers had zero water pressure and were tiny. Plus, they had clearly been varnished recently as there was a strong odor in both. Strike 3 came when I had to purchase my own toilet paper because we had been left with only half a roll when we checked in. We saw the owner a few times over the week that we stayed there but she was clearly much more interested in readying the wedding venue for two large events the upcoming weekend. Bottom line: NOT worth the price. Do yourself a favor and stay at a hotel! read more

Left there not even 30 minutes ago. My mother suggested we try this place due to numerous recommendations and all I can say is whomever recommended it obviously needs to travel a little bit further for "a really good burger." This was mediocre at best. We sat outside to wait for another person in our party, and someone did come out and ask us if we would be dining outside. Ok no big deal, we said sure since it's nice outside. I did ask her if we could order drinks and she stated she'd be right back. It took her the better part of 10 minutes to come back and she comes back with menus. We ask if she could clean the table, she says sure and I ask her to leave the menus and she says she will leave them here but LEAVES THEM ON ANOTHER TABLE COMPLETELY! She comes back slooowwwwwwly cleans the table and we finally are able to order our drinks. My mother wants sweet tea and the waitress tells us she doesn't have any sweet tea just regular. So after some time, we finally get our drinks and she tells my mom they are brewing some sweet tea and she will get her some. Great! Another TEN MINUTES, she comes back with a regular glass of tea and tells my mother that they brewed the tea for a party and that she could only give her regular. YOU COULDN'T GIVE HER A GLASS?!?!? Ridiculous. So a party is worth more than potential patronage? Finally get our food and the burger I order is sloppy and everything is falling out. Overall, the ambiance was perfect in terms of being outside. Noticed the other couple outside with us had to wait for silverware MINUTES into their food. To top things off, having to go inside to pay, the waitresses were having conversations talking about some woman asking about specials, something unprofessional to begin with. Noticed that it was not busy so I figure it's a Sunday, they didn't want to work too hard, so I have a $80+ tab on crap service and food. Would have been worth it if the service was better. Can't expect good tips if you don't work for them. One timer and probably won't be back. read more

Currently at the chapel for a family wedding, a very cute venue, but SHAME ON THE PROPRIETORS as the restrooms are NOT stocked with toilet paper/napkins. There were literally 5 paper towels and 1.5 toilet paper rolls in the ladies restroom. So if I was paying for this wedding I would rate service as one. UPDATE: Reception was very nice. Thought my husband and I were going to spend a relaxing night alone. Instead we found that the little cabin (yellow) we stayed in had extra guests, FLEAS! I left with several bites and killed one in the restroom. The tub was dirty, no shower, the jets were even more gross. No soap in soap dispenser and don't get me started on the toliet paper, newspaper would have been better. If that wasn't bad enough, try waking up to the lovely sound of, not birds, but something trying to gnaw it's way inside the walls. Tried this place for the first time today after reading their claim to "The best burger in town". I didn't notice the Lipton onion soup mix taste that one reviewer wrote. I did notice it was one damn good hamburger and fries. Hand formed patty not frozen, and if it did have soup mix in it so what, I liked it, a lot. Fresh sour dough bun with all the fixins. What's not to like? My favorite has always been Tookies but these guys may have just knocked them down to second. I'll know more after a few more burgers. As for the service, it was great. If I did have to put up with a little bad service once in a while it would be worth it to me. Whip me, beat me, make me write hot checks, just give me that burger and fries again. I agree that it's definitely the best in the Pasadena or Deer Park area. read more

This place is so cute! I came here for lunch with my boyfriend on a sunny spring day. I absolutely love the country charm and the surrounding gardens and "old west" feel of the place. I think this would be an awesome venue to host a party or wedding. The menu at the tea room was mainly sandwiches and hamburgers, nothing too fancy. It's a good lunch spot. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. The peach tea was great! They just opened a saloon in the old town square section that they call Sycamorville that I can't wait to come back and check out. I came here with five lovely ladies for lunch. I got the soup and salad. The salad was a nice mix of lettuces, onion, and mandarin oranges with a light citrus viniagrette. The soup was a clearly homemade lentil and sausage. It had a rich broth spiked with thyme, and it was just right for an autumn afternoon. The ladies all got burgers and fries. They reported that the fries were dangerously good, and the burgers were quite popular as well. We had a very nice server, and we will be back again! Thanks for a great experience. read more

We stayed here this past weekend for my birthday. The first night, we stayed in Sunlit Rose- I chose it because of the whirlpool tub and it was awesome, unfortunately, the house next door had people outside until 3 am playing loud music, so we got no sleep. We called Jackie the next morning and she prepared Reilly's Inn for us to stay in on night 2. It was really nice also, my only complaint in it would be- no mini fridge. We had bought soft drinks for the evening and had no way to keep them cold. I thought the customer service was exceptional. My complaint on breakfast is the description says "order from the menu and tell the waitress so there is no charge". It should say " tell the hostess". The first day we had sat and looked at the menu and then when I said we were at the cottage, she took our menu and brought us a very limited menu. There was one car in the parking lot and one table of guests. A bell rang when we walked in, but apparently doesn't sound in the back, as we waited well over 5 minutes without anyone ever coming to seat us. My friend and I just stayed one night here in the Elmarae room. The room was very clean and quiet with super comfy beds. The breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade biscuits. I would definitely stay again. The only negatives are the neighborhood nearby is not very nice and the shower has low water pressure, but the property itself feels very safe as it's gated. It would make a good wedding venue if you lived nearby and the staff is very friendly. read more

My post on their wall: Terribly disappointed and upset today...had my 12 year old granddaughter all pumped up for her first grown up visit to Silver Sycamore. Got there at 12:30 - the sign on the door said "open until 2". We were greeted at the door by a young man who very politely told us that the were (more or less) closed for a private party. I just wish you guys had put a sign on the door! Their reply: I am so sorry we do have the sign on the door but we took it down today for our showers. We are open for Private Party and Showers. We started these hours a little over a month ago. Sorry for your trouble. We will periodically be holding events for Teas and different Events. Please watch for these. The Mothers day brunch was not what I expected. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing but the food was cold and the sausage was hard. For the almost $40 a person, I would not recommend it. I was very disappointed in this place. The food was not bad at all but the service is what ruined it for me. I got the burger with caramelized onions and mushrooms. It was actually very tasty but the waitress kept trying to take our plate before we were finished. We had mimosas to drink and she kept trying to take those as well. It was very awkward. When the check came she was just hovering while we were still trying to finish and figure out how we where splitting the check. I asked her for some space and a little time and she said "Okay, I'll just stay right here and play with your baby." WTF? Then you only had 15%-25% tip option. I've never seen anything like it. Our company has had our annual Christmas party here for the past few years. The environment and themes are beautiful. The food is good but could be better considering the expense of booking. Overall it's a great place for events and we'll most likely continue to book every year. read more

My two daughters and I went to the Tea Room (homey atmosphere) for lunch -- our first time there. 4 stars = fresh-cut fries were a little greasy and the red onion sliced too thick (I prefer thinner slices, and one of my daughters could barely open her mouth wide enough to bite her daily-special salmon sandwich because the onion was cut so thick). Our server was attentive, but she did forget to bring one of the soups before the meal as we had requested. Their broccoli-cheese and baked-potato soups were very good, as was the mango tea. The grounds were very nice. They included a B&B, hotel, chapel, etc. for special events. I previewed their menu before our visit, so I knew what to expect; but, we had to use a Groupon. In my opinion, they don't have a true tea-room menu. I can get a good burger at lots of places. When I go to a tea room, I want finger sandwiches (chicken salad, tuna salad, pimento cheese, etc.), maybe with a cup of fruit and banana bread with a smear of cream cheese. But, hey, that's me. Even though we had a nice lunch, I don't think we will return unless changes and/or additions are made to their menu. read more

After seeing this venue online while looking for a wedding venue, we decided to try out their mothers day brunch. We had a reservation at 10 am. Upon arrival, we were told they weren't quite ready and we would need to wait a few minutes(NBD) Once we are actually seated, all of the employees are walking around frantically and there are about 5 tables in the whole place at this point, none of who have any drinks or have been offered any service. We asked for a high chair and they brought us one which was broken. Alerted them it wasn't in good repair, they said "both of them are that way" SO now my 17 month old son cannot safely sit in his chair- We have to literally tie him in to the hight chair. Mind you at this point, we still have yet to get a drink so my Mother in Law goes and gets her own coffee. At this point someone finally comes to offer us a beverage. About 15 minutes after arriving they shout to the whole doing room that the buffet is open. WHAT A JOKE- the choices were minimal at best, some of the chafing dishes weren't even full and EVERYTHING was warm at best. The "home made" pastries selection (LOL) - still cold inside. The food was less than stellar. And with 5 servers and 5 tables we were still unable to have our plates removed from the table, as we were pretty much disgusted at this point, we asked for our bill- not one but THREE times before it arrived. As we're sitting there we see the staff actually preparing the buffet correctly for the next seating. Our total for 5 people was $200!!!!! Not including gratuity. So naturally Im heated, I wait a day and I call to speak with someone. I leave a message because she is "in a meeting". I get no return call. I call again the next morning and the girl answering the phone I ask her did she work Sunday and she says yes and admits they were behind-- SO Finally the owner calls me back. I recant her with the above story and her response is; an apology, 2 FREE LUNCHES(no thanks) and she has the nerve to tell me, Ive been doing this for 10 years and NEVER HAD ONE COMPLAINT. I want my money back. Im furious. Perhaps the worst dining experience of my life and knowing I could've gone in town and for $10 more per person had a wonderful extravagant brunch really makes me even more mad. Surely it goes with out saying, these incompetent people can't handle a brunch there is NO WAY I'm having one of the most important events of my life there. Don't waste your time. read more

I came in today for the "Best Burger in town" today. I didn't care for it as it is prepared with Lipton Onion Soup mix, so I didn't eat it. I ate a little bit of my friend's French Dip which was better but not anything special. I expected to pay for the meal as I had ordered it and it was prepared correctly. The server noticed that I did not eat it and asked why. I explained that I didn't care for it, but would of course pay for it. She asked if she could tell the manager and see what she could do for me. The manager said that she wasn't going to do anything about it. That would have been acceptable to me had she came to the table and talked to me, but instead she sat in her little corner and did not move. The place was cute, but poor service from management has guaranteed that I will never eat there again and I would advise others not to patronize a place with as little class as they seem to have. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for awhile. In December 2014, I booked a wedding with the promise the cute country town that was under construction would be ready WAY before our September 2015 wedding date. When I called to check back in during March, the original lady who booked our wedding had left and the new person without any care or concern informed me the town would not be ready until easily January of 2016. The owner contacted me and confirmed this was the case and did not offer me a partial refund or the bigger building onsite that would accomodate my wedding size without me paying an add'l fee. I can understand there were major delays due to the high volume of rain we had this year, but the lack of care or consideration to help your customers is disheartening. My only choice was to have my wedding in their small tea room, which was way to small. I immediately cancelled my wedding. Silver Sycamore preyed on brides by wooing them with a country themed wedding venue and couldn't deliver on their promise. Lesson learned is do not book a venue unless the venue exists. read more

I hosted my daughter's bridal shower at the Silver Sycamore Tearoom. The place is adorable and it was the ambiance I was looking for. The food was just fine, except that we did not get the muffins that I was told we would while waiting for the main dish. When asked about this, I was told by one of the waiters, they did not have any for us. But my main disappointment is this. I was briefly greeted by the "owner' once. I saw her again in her office when I had a question. Never again did she come and ask how it was going or if we needed anything, not even at the end of the event. We were there for three hours. She is not friendly and the first time I meant her she did not make a good impression on me either, but I thought she was having a bad day. I wish her all the best with her tearoom. She should just try to be a little more cordial or perhaps hire someone who can. Also serve what she says she's going to serve and getting paid for it. read more
