So after struggling to find a decent Chinese restaurant in the berbs, I did have high expectations for this gem. Although the street appeal probably isn't anything to woo at, and inside is a tad bit dated, yet is still humble in a family restaurant kind of way. I feel it may have been the owners who were working the front of house, and they were both lovely. They clearly have been in the business a while and did a good job and making us feel comfortable, and giving us a little giggle as well. The menu had heaps of choose from. Seemed as if there were a few extra options compared to other basic Chinese restaurants, including a traditional and western dessert menu. I had the Chicken Satay dish off the chef special menu. It was amazing. The sauce was flavoursome and certainly didn't seem like out of a jar type of thing. It was served with broccoli pieces as well as a little burning flame in the middle of the plate. My partner had the Sizzling Steak Mongolian style dish and the pieces were tender and juicy, with lovely sweet and tangy Mongolian flavours through-out. The plate was also served with vegetables. I love this place. It's my new found gem. I've been searching a while for a nice place to grab some quality Chinese food, and I think I've found my stop. This place isn't anything designer or high-end perhaps, but it still possess a charming old-school look and humble home-style meals, which is something I look when dining at Asian restaurants in the berbs.

The staff is just about as friendly as you can get.. Service was quick and prices where very good. Food was good, I have had better but it's defiantly the best Chinese food in the area. My brother especially loves their Sweet and Sour Chicken because that is all that he ever orders. In fact it seems that even my Dad has his personal favourite. However I always try new things, though their battered duck is not really the best, but that is probably because of the batter. However the staff have always been great, and there has always been a table set aside for us when we have ventured here.

Oh never mind... The seating inside is a bit basic, but most people come here for the takeaway anyway, so it doesn't really matter. I never see more than one or 2 sets of people dining in at a time. I myself have only ever had takeaway, so how it is? Well, it's not bad. I've had plenty better, but I've also had plenty worse. It really does sit somewhere in the middle. They have some nice items on the menu, but there's nothing that makes me tell people "I visit this place for the (insert menu item here)". There's no real menu item I would say they call their own. Okay, it is basically a pan-Asian restaurant, which means that there are dishes on the menu from all over Asia, and the menu itself is actually quite extensive as well. Yeah, it wasn't bad, but it didn't have the charm that more specialised Asian restaurants tend to have, and it can be a little tricky finding the way into the place as well. I remember as a small child driving past this place, and that fact that I'm 32 now and it's still there is a testament to the quality food you get at this place. As with all Asian restaurants it's the satay I gravitate towards, and they certainly don't disappoint. There was a strong nutty flavour with this one that I really enjoyed.
