During each lesson you could see the kids confidence building. The class is longer other schools and there are enough teacher assistants that each chlld gets the individual attention she/he needs. The best thing about it was the fact that for group lessons the kids actually get teacher time. Each class has a teacher and teacher helpers, this makes it so the kids actually get taught! This is our second year back and our daughters love it, they also love the teachers, my wife is a little better at remembering names but i think our teachers are Nicole and Patricia- either way everyone there is great- When we were exploring getting our Girls into figure skating (due to their constant asking), my wife checked out a bunch of other schools at the Peabody Rink- They were all hectic and it looked like just a bunch of kids standing around, occasionally falling- This group is clearly well run bun great people who seem to genuinely care about teaching kids. It shows that they have been around for over 30 years, as my wife let me know when i was cutting the check (Which by the way was discounted for having 2 kids sign up) Pro's- Kids get plenty of time with teachers and helpers, Owner (Sally) is great, 2 hours to choose from, Not to expensive and they pro-rate weeks- Free recital at the end of the year (my Girls LOVE this) Con's- Rinks are cold and i have to sit there, when i really wanna be at home watching tv and relaxing........but hey, anything for my Girls!!!!! I feel bad rating this so low because it's a nice facility but they need to do something about the…read moreparking lot. They constantly have games with lots of people happening at the same time as regular practices with kids, so people are stuck with absolutely no where to park, and can't even go into the building because of it. Cops park in the fire lane and handicap spots horizontally and then go inside and eat Dunkin' Donuts. Meanwhile, they won't let a parent or guardian leave their hazards on to go inside and pick up a young child. The school parking lot next door also has no spots and people have to walk up from it if they're lucky enough to find a place to leave their car. There is no sidewalk or shoulder. Everyone ends up blocking buses and each other in. There's simply not enough room for the amount of people using the facility at one time and it's not safe. Accidents waiting to happen to add to the previous lawsuits they've apparently had against them for shady money dealings and late tax payments.

Admission with rental skates included was $10 per person with no time limit. The decor was reminiscent of the early 2000s (think: neon glow-in-the-dark murals on concrete walls) and they played pop hits ranging from the 2000s to modern day. It felt a bit like a 2000s-era after school program activity in the best possible way! Overall, we had a great time skating here for about an hour. The staff were good about keeping people moving in the same direction, and the rink had plenty of people, but not too many as to cause a constant danger of collisions. This would be a great experience for children and adults alike. Especially for the price, the hours of fun here can't be beat!

They also have a few arcade games where you can win tickets and a snack bar with plenty of seating. I used to skate a ton when I was younger, and was looking for something fun and active for both of us to do together (instead of me watching her run around at the playground or spending over $20 per hour for her to jump at a trampoline park- this is the perfect fit and really affordable, and we both get exercise and have fun. A lot of staff, some a bit stressed but the guys working prop doors were cool. Six rooms for hockey changing and lots of blue panels taped up to improve the rink sides. While the wifi was poor (the phone signal even worse),it was free, and equivalent to getting 3g or ~LTE service, barely. Parking in front is paved, in the back is gravel. They did manage to be on time during the day (even a bit early) though their final schedule over the weekend came out a bit late for those of us traveling there. Came twice so far - once for practice ice and once for a USFSA test session. The arena itself is not too cold. I was able to sit in the stands and though I was chilly, I was not cold. Practice ice involves lots of forms - yes I forged my coaches signature in quite a few places. All staff encountered were super friendly. From saying hello, to happily answering questions, to taking a genuine interest in your skating endeavors. The test session was PROFESSIONALLY run. They kept to the schedule. Kept all non testing personnel in the warming room. And did not allow people to go through the doors while a test was in session. Test results were handed out within minutes of the test conclusion. I realize that 99%+ of the people reading this review probably have no idea about what I'm writing. But if you are a high level figure skater working on the test track - this rink treats you right.
