The 3 times my husband has been in this business the manager is erratic, pacing, waving his arms and nervously laughing. The first time we were there he looked at my husband and told him that his sidearm was triggering his PTSD and he needed to close up and go to an appointment. Another time we called to verify they were open arriving 30 minutes later the shop was then closed during posted business hours. Another time to pick up our weed trimmer which the manager said while again oddly laughing that they serviced it but didn't replace the worn feeder assembly which is why it was brought in - not a service. We were charged $150 for a service we didnt authorize and still have to repair the unit. As one with diagnosed PTSD-C, I wouldn't normally publicize someone else's disability however the manager publicly told us within the buisness walls that he suffers from PTSD and other conditions, his nonsensical rambling, body movements, uncontrollable laughing makes for a very unsafe customer environment and I feel its important that someone speaks out before something bad happens. Sometimes a quick hardware run turns into an unexpected test of patience. On December 5, 2025 at…read morearound 5:15 PM, a friendly cashier called the manager over because two clearance items were incorrectly priced. One item wasn't marked at all, and the other showed a $10 sticker with an additional 50% off. When I scanned the barcode in the Ace Hardware app, the item rang up as $2.99, so I kindly requested a price match based on Ace's own listed pricing. The manager entered the interaction abruptly, avoided eye contact, and loudly exclaimed "What the F***"--a remark heard by several customers in nearby lines. This was both unprofessional and unnecessary. He then insisted the online price was inaccurate and attempted to charge an incorrect amount ($31.99!!), even after I showed the product information. I ultimately ordered the items for in-store pickup at the correct price, but the situation could have been resolved quickly and respectfully in the moment. I've included a photo with the serial number so this can be reviewed by leadership and handled more appropriately going forward. The rest of the staff was excellent; the issue was solely with the manager's conduct. I hope future visits to this location reflect the professionalism Ace is known for.
